AliExpress reversing camera fitting MG4 SE - Part Two
Переглядів 4,3 тис.11 місяців тому
Second of three videos detailing the fitting of an AliExpress reversing camera on a model year 2022 SAIC MG4 SE. Not intended as entertainment, simply a 'how to' or more accurately 'how I did'. This video covers removing the interior tailgate trim panel and the MG4s rear spoiler. I hope it helps if you plan to tackle something similar.

MG4 SE glovebox removal to install an AliExpress reversing camera module. This video only covers installing the electronics, in part two we'll look at fitting the camera itself. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006012928137.html
How do you remove the glove box?
It's explained at about 3:50
Great job. I had bought same camera set, but still can`t get from seller any wire diagram or instalaton insruction...
Thanks. I installed today and this video helped me several times.
Well done, I hope it all works well. Mine has been working for nearly a year now. Happy reversing!
HelloDo You think could be possible to fit camera without taking off the spoiler? Thx
People claim to have done so but personally I think it would require a higher level of skill. Have an experiment, if you can remove the tailgate trim then you are half way there. The only challenge is the two white clips, see if you can release those next, it's almost essential to use the £€$15 tool, then it's a breeze.
You are great sir!
This is simply amaziny. Will need to double check with my dealer if this does not break the warranty of the Lease, but I'm now empowered to be able to do this. You are amazing!
Can you send the link for the camera unit again? Thanks
I was exhausted just watching this lol... I guess it's Trophy for me. Although I feel like installing a powered tailgate aftermarket system...
Very well described 😊
Hey, thank you for the great video. Do you think installing the rear camera is worth it? Quality/etc, especially keeping in mind that you can't see the rear sensors (and distance in cms) anymore on the screen. Are the steering lines correct?
Yes it's definitely worth it. The results are as good as most OEM cameras that I've experienced. You still have the sound of the reversing sensors. The steering lines are very accurate. I'd not want to be without it.
Yes it's worth it, I wouldn't want to be without it. Steering lines are accurate. You still hear the reversing sensors.
Quality is as good as the screen will allow, switching into and out of the camera is fully automatic and very responsive. It is as good as all of the OEM installations that I have experience of.
Does the parking sensors still work with the camera connected?
Yes they do, exactly the same as normal although you can't see them on the screen
Man could you give me the link to buy the rear camera? the link in the description doesn't work
thank you for your effort this video also help on how to change the spoiler to the trophy version.
That's good, how did you get on with the square white clips?
@@wtfit3782 I will find out this week how I will remove the white clips. I'm going to install the trophy version spoiler with an included camera on my SE. I will let you know after.
How did it go?
Does it need any central computer upgrade by software? I'm also waiting for the second part!
My understanding is that this unit should be MG software independent, I could be wrong but it looks to me that the unit switches the video signal source to the infotainment display. Like changing video inputs on a television. When reversing, the displays input is the Ali Express box, the rest of the time it's the infotainment unit.
Agreed@@oldgitflying
I am also waiting for part 2.😢
I am also waiting for part 2.😢
WILL WARRANTY BECOME VOID??? IF I APPLY THIS ???? PLS LET KNOW MG4 SE SR (I MEAN THE ORIGINAL ONE)
I suppose that would depend if you do any damage to the infotainment system or the interior trim. If your carful it should be fine I would think. Just my opinion thought ;-)
Fantastic first video i found for the mg 4 on the perticular camer instalation. Waithing for the second part
Coming soon!
brooooo please do part 2.. im craving for it
