Finally got around to playing this game on PS1. This was played on a J-NTSC 90K PS2. Since I usually play the PC version on keyboard, I had to relearn this games movement with a PS1 controller. Japanese version since it has the fastest loads. This beats the old wr by 1.5 minutes, which stood for over 7 years. This run was pretty good, but i want to get the 42 soon

BEHOLD the first sub 1 hour run of croc 2 any% Run had plenty of mistakes, so a sub 59 is definitely viable with more attempts and adding a few more strats that i dont currently do.

3 Any% wrs in the same day. Earlier today i got a 1:00:17, a few hours later thermospore beat that with a 1:00:16 (literally 12 frames faster in an hour long speedrun). So i hit back with this run. Biggest timeloss was 20 seconds on masher and bad rng on flavio

Years ago i grinded the game to get the first sub 2 hours, feels really good to see how far the game has come since then and be the one to achieve the first sub 1:30. Run had plenty of mistakes, this can be brought down to sub 1:25 Clipping into the caveman jigsaw was the big barrier to getting good runs with this route, however we recently found a consistent enough way to do this.

Run had only tiny mistakes up until i got hit on the final phase of dante, loosing me about 8 seconds. Reached my goal of sub 12 so im done with this game for now. A much lower time is definitely achievable, i just dont think it will be particularity enjoyable. It is faster to take damage on enemies by running through them, than to avoid them. done on GBI with a trash capture card Still plenty of improvements to be made on this run. I particularly suck on levels 1-2, 1-3 and 1-4. And then need good rng to not need to get the boxes at the start of 4-5

So never got around to running this game because it is quite bad. But it was recently discovered that you can skip world 2 and 3 by beating flibby 3 times. So i took the excuse to steal the wr. Probably wont last. Can be beaten by like 5 minutes.

Spent 2 hours de-rusting with no reset runs and got this lmao Still have minutes of timesave. Sub 30 definitely viable with better hover consistency. Also the splits im running against were not the old wr splits, they were new ones since we now have a load remover

Im actually beginning to like this category other than a handful of places where crystals are stupid, like chests, caveman trophy, babies and puzzle dungeon. Sub 2:05 pretty easy, sub 2 probably possible with current strats. Lost minutes on this run and i have ideas for more timesave

Although Ive kept pretty good track of all my favorite old games, today I went to my parents house to look for some old games which I've been missing but was sure they were around somewhere. Although my copy of Fire Emblem Sacred Stone is still at large I found THIS gem in an old carrying case! Super happy to find there was a speedrun here for me to enjoy the ending of this game (since I never came close as a kid)! Thanks++++❤

@@Paulmall3 You could play with CD inside the drive - this would make the music work, but probably would also make the loading times longer.
This has to be the American version of the game, cause the PAL version starts you off at 3 hearts!
It is the American version, but not because of hearts. The PAL/NTSC PS1 versions only have 3 hearts, whereas J-NTSC PS1 and all PC versions have 5
@@Paulmall3 Ahh that makes sense, so I'm guessing this is PC rather than emulation. I do have to wonder why they made it easier elsewhere... Also I can see the jellies are called "Gummy Saver" in this version, which is so weird! It's lovely watching though, my 7 year old self would have his mind blown haha
@@crystalkirby yep this is PC. The American versions had a brand deal with gummi savers, other versions are just a regular jelly

I believe there is a patch out there that fixes this, but i havent tried it as it would increase the load times. The fanmade Definitive Edition has working music tho
@@Paulmall3 Thanks - I've heard about Definitive Edition too. But I believe this Definitive Edition would not be really allowed for speedrunning, right? (it is not an official edition)
