Electronic music carved in the deepest pits of hell.
i took a music composition class, here's how it went.
This class made me realize what makes music "good" is all subjective, but also that I should have probably put a bit more effort into the class. lol.
I forgot to mention what I actually THOUGHT about the class. Here are my thoughts, condensed:
- it was a fun class as someone who knows how to use a DAW
- I imagine it would be a bit less fun for someone who doesn't know how to use one
- lessons seemed to be more listening to music than learning concepts, in terms of the portions of the lectures
- cool concepts here and there, but overall structure of course felt lacking
- fun projects!
- decent experience overall, but tougher grading scheme than anticipated. it didn't feel like it was graded based on entry-level expectations.

also, the darksynth track in the beginning/middle/end is a random wip. like it?

hey man, love your stuff, though a fun thing may or may not have happened with your music i may or may not have recommended some of your eternal damnation tracks to one of the guys piloting kamikaze fpv drones on the front and he may or may not have liked them too and may or may not have quietly turned them on while on the hunt and he may or may not have liquidated a ukr BTR-80 just as Hostility's second drop dropped, like a second-perfect timing just wanted to let you know
The 8-bit tune is heavenly and the video game themes rock too but Maximilian's stuff is groovier to my ears. Such a cool video idea!

was this a university semester , or a class you seeked out on your own? I do music as a hobby but all these assignments have tasks i think about often. I thought learning music for real is crazy complicated and would kill my passion for it cause of getting too indepth and formulaic, but maybe i was wrong
this was a class that I took for a credit in university. i understand where you’re coming from and I generally share that opinion. However, this class was such a minimal amount of work that it didn’t kill any passion….or I just was too busy focusing on other things 😂

I am happy with this acquisition. For me the best track is Revolt, I can't listen to it without imagining a frantic exchange of gunfire while Lilith jumps, ricochets off the wall and spins like in Equilibrium or DMC.

Yeah see this has the problem I always have with vital, basses sound too thin. I can fix the problem, but like... Should I have to?
Idk if thin is the right word, it's more like metallic and sterile
I think it's all a bit more cleaner by design as compared to serum. I think playing around with saturation can help in that case.
it could also have just been my mixing, but I personally don't believe that sound design ends in the synth itself. I usually set up pretty extensive fx chains for my actual songs. However, the purpose of this track was just to show the versatility so I skipped out on all external fx chains (minus sidechain). That being said, I have no experience with Serum so I can't comment on it lol

@@venturer6378 nah it's a vital issue, all things set equal, serum will definitely require less FX correction ime. But vital does a couple things serum doesn't, and the price is right.
