xploring Arizona's Ancient Volcanic Wonders | Overland Adventure
Join us as we continue west on an unforgettable journey through the heart of Arizona’s San Francisco Volcanic Field. Spanning 1,800 square miles on the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau, this rugged terrain tells the story of Earth's powerful history. Discover volcanic peaks, jagged lava fields, and the untamed beauty of nature.
Along the way, we share tips for respecting the land, navigating rancher gates, and savoring the perfect campfire tacos. Before heading to Overland Expo West, we stop by KC HiLiTES in Flagstaff for some quality time with our off-road family.
After a night at the KC HiLite’s Headquarters, we spend the weekend 40,000 of our closest friends at Overland Expo West. This is an event you must experience in person if you’re an overlander.
No trip to Northern air zone would be complete without seeing the Grand Canyon. After all, it is The Grand Canyon State. We head north to stake out our own little corner of the largest canyon in the United States for a night.
Buckle up for an adventure filled with history, stunning landscapes, and overland camaraderie!
Don’t miss out on this Overland adventure and join us at Overland Expo West, the ultimate gathering for off-road enthusiasts.

I’m about to go for Baja on Nov 18 th from Houston. Any recommendations?
Great job Scott!
Thank you sir! We can get your rig though some of this.
@@texasxlander If you ever need a co-pilot, let me know. Lol!
Certainly caution is a good idea whenever you venture off the pavement. But I've run Medano a dozen times (at least) in all conditions, and I've never needed to air down. Early spring is definitely when you're most likely to have issues. Even deep, the water crossings are no big deal. But water splashed and dripping from the vehicles causes some impressively deep mud holes near the crossings. I've pulled a few people out of those. I've run it in a stock early model Cherokee, a built Ram 1500, a built V8-powered YJ, a stock Silverado, a couple built JKUR's, and most recently a built 392 Wrangler. I have to wonder how much impact your trailer has on things. ua-cam.com/video/pnhYkH48Jw8/v-deo.html
Fun video. Nice work. We are getting our Wrangler ready for a Black Hills adventure next week. It's going to be a bit cooler than your visit but the fall colors should be nice. Did you encounter trails beyond moderate levels? We are not looking for anything overly challenging on this trip but maybe next time. Thanks for the video.
Tell me is this NOT antelope canyon?
It's not Antelope Canyon. It's Rattlesnake Canyon, which is near Antelope. Look it up.
Looking at the boreas as well. Standard height garage? I've measured mine and it seems like a tight fit, but looks like you have no issues
My garage is 7’ and I have about 3 to spare. The folks at Boreas designed it to fit into a standard size garage.
Can’t wait to see more! Great job.
The next video will include some footage you should should recognize. 😉

Incredible, does anyone know or share few names of those companies in South africa..
@@fowsitv3668 There are several resources available to point you in the right direction. It just takes a few minutes of research.
@texasxlander Thanks for your reply. Can you mention two or 3, that would be a good start. 👍
@@fowsitv3668 I’ll have to dig through some notes.
We’ve been there once by ourselves, we want make it out there again hopefully this year and spend hopefully at least 4 days there.

Nice! I wanna do the Currie 44 front and rear when I finally decide to do a frane iff restoration. 1997 4.0 Sport Gunmetal Pearl currently on an old 4” Pro Comp lift with 33” BFG ko’s. Want to do mickey thompson or nittos when I get to finally rebuild the thing. Solid frame, no rust beyond some VERY minimal surface rust. And a few dings/scratches but the tub is straight beyond that.
@@KWD420 Last time I checked, the Currie 44 and the Currie 60 are the same price. Why not just go with the 60?

Looks like a fun trip. And good food. which i feel strongly about.
wow...majestic
My wife and I love ours. The fridge always ends up taking overflow drinks or food if we have a party
No it's not worth the upgrade. The pro6 is about 2k for most trucks. The titan will be more then that. And the pro6 aren't bright compared to other 2k lights. so the titan added a back light which is cool and finally make the the pro6 comparable vs other lights
Your opinion is based on assumptions and that's okay. When it's released to the public and you actually get to see one, your opinion may stay the same or change. And that's okay too.
I live in MT. Where is this?
This is Awesome!
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my GOD!
Great video Bro..I'll see you on the gram
Loved the video. I moved to South Daktoa 3 years ago from the Sierras in California. Exploring South Dakota has been fun, I find that there is more open places and freedom to explore and have been enjoying the state. You mentioned Buffalo Gap, I am heading there for a week long trip, winding our way via trails to Devels dower.
Sound like you made a good life decision. We can't wait to go back to SD.
I did a similar trip a year ago. I am going to go back in the future, because we did not event touch the surface of what we could have experienced. Your right about the inreach, I was amazed about the lack of Cell services even on the main routs through Wyoming.
It would take a month of Sundays to scratch the surface.
Yea, we did Landers cut off down through the Oregan trail in the plains. 2 weeks not a dent. @@texasxlander
We are looking forward to doing some exploring in Texas!!!
Texas is big. Lots to see and do. But sadly, most of the land is private.
@@texasxlander Yeah, that is the bummer for sure.
Sir I’m from Houston tx. Driving 100 series Land Cruiser and planning for another adventure this June end to Baja, what’s your recommendation for a family with two kids.
I'm 2 hours west of you near ATX. My first bit of advice would be to wait until Fall. It's going to be warm in June. Either way, make sure you have everything ready to go before you hit the border crossing. Passports. Vehicle Registration. Mexican Insurance. NO GUNS or AMMO. Spend as little time as possible in the border towns. Stay Alert. Don't sweat the checkpoints. Don't pretend to speak Spanish at the checkpoints. Eat street tacos.Debit Cards don't always work, have some Peso's. The Sea of Cortez coast is a world apart from the Pacific Coast. Both offer amazing things. Most important, HAVE FUN.
Adventure time!
What amber lights are you running on XT?
My amber lights are KC Hilites Cyclone.
Why and how Hyperion wastewater treatment plant? I live LA with 2023 XT.
🤣 I know people.
It also had some of theist views of the beach.
I work for the City and recognized where right away, Beautiful but at times pretty stinky lol, love meetings there, amazing views
@@ArMANd0LA The odor was not as bad as the jets taking off at LAX. 🤣
Is there a name to that trail that goes over the natural formations on the national grasslands? It looks awesome!
This trail is actually located inside Wind Cave National Park.
It's pretty much an understanding, "DON'T FUCK WITH THE TOURISTS" among the locals, it's the primary business that supports the economy and even the cartel doesn't what to scary them off.
For the most part, this is true. But there is always the possibility of running across some party you're not supposed to see and the party organizer are having a bad day.
Great adventure. Just added it to my list of places to go. Thanks for sharing. I see that you have a weBoost cell phone signal booster on your Jeep. How well does it work when you are off-the-grid like in West Texas?
The main thing to understand about the WeBoost is, it doesn’t create a cell signal when you’re offgrid. It takes a week signal and boost it. For example, at the Valley of the Gods in Southern Utah, I get a full bar 3G signal when it’s on. Turned off, I have no signal showing.
Thanks very much. That's helpful.@@texasxlander
Good stuff!! Can't wait to make a trip out there!!
You'll love it! There was a 4XE on one of our runs. It did great in spite of being stock and only days off the lot. You'll see it in my next video, later this week.
