    Another great video on Luderick 👌. Good sized school and fish, too. As im new to fishing for these fish, I've just a question about where to tye the half hitch. Does it go above the eye of the hook (around line and weed) or below the eye of the hook (around shank and weed) chers and thank you?.

    NSW Labor Govt mandated life jackets everywhere. It's been poorly promoted. Two fishermen drowned at Kiama a couple of days ago. They haven't found the bodies.

    • @anglinguntangled
      @anglinguntangled 8 днів тому

      No I think it is only mandatory in declared areas which look to cover most of the NSW coast but not all of it. www.nsw.gov.au/environment-land-and-water/coasts-waterways-and-marine/rock-fishing-lifejacket-law#:~:text=If%20you%20are%20fishing%20from,wherever%20you%20are%20rock%20fishing.

    • @anglinguntangled

    Why cooked prawns i have always used green prawns and i never miss a good feed same goes for rock crabs

    • @anglinguntangled
      @anglinguntangled 8 днів тому

      So I was going to cover this in the video but never got around to using the prawns. It is illegal to use any prawns meant for human consumption for bait due to the risk of introducing white spot disease in NSW (and probably other states). Some reputable fisherman have shown off using raw supermarket prawns for bait on UA-cam, so it’s not taken very seriously. Im not saying this is reckless, I’ve no idea of how big this problem is, though you do hear occasionally of a white spot disease outbreak and it wrecking an areas prawn fishery. My thinking is that using cooked prawns poses no risk as the disease would not survive cooking, but I’m no scientist. Also, if you’ve never used it, cooked prawns fishes just as well as uncooked and it even a little bit tougher bait

    • @bobking4031

    • @anglinguntangled
      @anglinguntangled 25 днів тому

      There’s a bit of a culture with luderick fisherman that they’re pretty secretive about where they get they’re green weed from and unfortunately I’ve got to be the same just because it’s been hard for me to track down lately and the one spot I have is in short supply. But your best bet for finding the stringy stuff is in a protected creeks/drains/estuary edges with salt or better yet brackish water. Some spots to check might spring to mind or it can be worth jumping on google earth to look at bridge crossings over small feeder creeks into salt water. Sea cabbage is heaps easier to find and sometimes they’ll chew it just as readily as the green weed and they prefer it when fishing off the rocks. I’d check out my “harbour luderick tactics” vid to see where to start looking for it 🤙🏼

      Yep lures definitely still works at night. I’ve also picked up a few on the storm so run minnow divers off the beach at night. Have been trying for a while to get that on camera but just haven’t lucked out just yet with it

    Update on your cart and its durability if you don’t mind sir. I am curious how well the rivets hold the way you assembled it. Turned out great btw Thanks from the US

      Cheers and it’s held up great so far. No bending or rusting, the pet mesh flooring is still going strong. Had a fella sit on one of the corners putting all his weight on it and it didn’t buckle which surprised me. One thing I’d change, which would be easy for me to do but isn’t too much of an issue, is moving the rear axle back slightly - the cart will wheelie if you load something to the rear before something up the front. For my needs it’s the right size but it’s a workout to push when fully loaded with 30kg (livebait tank and gear) and whenever heading up a dune. But happy with the design

    Very good video mate was looking for a simple rig like this new to slide baiting but when i want to cast dead baits I think this is the better option 🤙

    we pulled 30 from the river not far from here, thought bow fishing for them might be viable but at that entry price I think I will stick with rods unless I come across a cheap 2nd hand set up

      Yeah they’re bloody thick up there. 2nd hand will be the go for a cheap good setup, will just want a bow with around 30-40lb of draw weight. If it’s a compound bow then all the gadgets will just bolt on

    What size single hooks do you put on your jigs for Bonnie’s, sambos etc.?

    • @anglinguntangled
      @anglinguntangled 2 місяці тому

      All of the jigs I use during the video are stock standard in their rigging. When replacing trebles it’s best to just match the hook size to lure size

    Hey mate, when replacing the trebles on metals, what hook style and size do you use?

    • @anglinguntangled
      @anglinguntangled 2 місяці тому

      Hey mate, depends on the size of the lure but for the smaller ones I was using around a size 1 single hook fits the bill 👍🏼
