Hello from Where can I get this stair nosing???
@@jawahersalih1847 LL FLOORING
@@everydayhomeimprovements9345 can you tell me where is have this a round stair nosing please??????

Mesh tape... I was wondering what it was. So, we wait 20 minutes between each coat?
How to remove them if they're in tile walls?
Great question so you can smash it out the same way to remove it but then you’re gonna have to clean the area up and patch it in with another tile the same size
Most of the time people wait until they’re ready to renovate the bathroom and to redo the tile all together
@@everydayhomeimprovements9345 perfect! Thank you very much for your time and getting back to me so soon, 🙏🏼
Thanks for a nice video- wish I saw it sooner. Personally, I prefer white risers. I found a smooth 1/16" thk 4x8 ft plastic sheet at Ho'sDepot and smacked it up with linoleum adhesive- Roberts 2057. Groove troweled it onto the back of the precut white riser sheets and waited 30 minutes so it was tacky enough to stay up w/o tape or clamps. The sheet was NOT FRP so it planed easily and could be finessed to fit sides and bottom of the risers within 1/16". I left a 1/16 gap on each side of the planking AND risers for expansion. I saved a lot of putty and paint and should be easy to clean. (60 yr old risers with 5 layers of peeling paint). I also used a pewter metal nosing for wear on this heavily used semi- formal staircase. $60 (3 $20 12ft lengths) did all 12 step noses plus $12 for a big box matching nails. The contrast of the pewter nosing really helps with seeing the steps in dim light and has great grip. Used Trafficmaster Oakwood Terrace Oak LVP that blends well with adjacent carpet and has lots of surface texture so it's not very slippery when wet. Just something to consider for the 50 & up folks- grippy planking and grippy metal nosing for safety. Looks just fine IMHO. Wife LOVES it. COST?? Did 11 treads and 12 noses/risers for ~$260: $100 Trafficmaster planking $60 Nosing $12 nosing nails $40 (2) 1 qt pots glue, $25 4x8 underlayment $15 white riser 4x8 sheet $8 for a 3" wide grooved putty knife trowel Labor is "FREE" 30 HOURS AT LEAST. I can see why they charge $130 per step. Brad nailed the crap out of the underlayment for clean removal at a later date if necessary... hope they hold!

Sad that you didnt do stair treads with borders so wouldn't see the honeycome of butt ends 😮
Im getting ready to do my stairs the same way. I was going to use loctite pl 400 subfloor construction adhesive. What is your opinion on that? Also to be clear ,you dont use nails with the glue ?
If you have the backing on your flooring, make sure you remove it like in my video and they sell certain flooring adhesion go to LL flooring and ask them for the stair tread glue. It comes in cubes the PO 400 works but doesn’t hold long term and no nails Please subscribe to my channel it’s free and if you wanna be really nice like and share this video and return if you have any questions, feel free to ask me if I can help in anyway I will thanks for watching

How long do you leave the glue to cure before walking on it? Can I use a Vinyl plank with the rubber padding on or I have to remove it?
@@FerozNasir-eq5ud you’re gonna wanna remove the rubber padding like we do in the video that helps the glue to stick better. You’re gonna want it to glue to set for 24 hours or however, long time says on the back of your glue.
You didn't show enough of installing the post railing once it was done without the vinyl sleeve
thank you for your feedback. Do you have any questions on it? Maybe I can help you with
I wish you can do my steps.
I could if you’re in central Jersey
What length ledgerlock screws? The instructions say to drill all the way through the 2x8 and use bolts through both plates. Are the ledgerlocks sturdy enough?

Nicely done.sir. Could you tell me where i can buy stairnoses?
Home Depot and Lowe’s has them you can also go to LL flooring. It’s important to know if you have a rounded stair nose tell them you need it for a round Stair nose and if you have square stairs, you need to tell them you need it for a square Stair nose

Where did you get the nosing from
lowe’s and Home Depot carries it. I also get it from LL flooring. They make better ones now.
Thanks for responding back, but, i was asking about that 3" bracket under the bottom rail. How does that go on? I cant find one video that shows it. It might be super simple, but, i havent gotten the railings yet.
The bottom bracket slides right on it’s at the 4:20 second mark
The bracket that helps with the weight. You center it in the middle
@@bey111101 so that is just a short little piece of square plastic that they provide you with, and it gets a small screw that screws it to the bottom rail
Yes it helps the bottom rail from sagging
Very good video. I wish you would have shown how you put in the bottom peg that gives support. Is the just a hole there that you pop it into?
Thank you so much please subscribe to my channel it’s free and if you want to be really nice like and share and in return if you ever have any questions and I can help you feel free to ask and I’ll do my best. There is a video showing how we installed the post up

yes, the bottom support bracket gets installed with a little screw. Measure your bottom rail mark the middle and place it there.
Very nice 👌
Thank you
Hi I can’t seem to find contact info for you on your channel. Where would I find that? Thanks!
What type of contact info are you looking for? Where are you located?

Can you use a straight rail kit on the stairs as long as you cut the angle correctly?
no, you cannot. You have to use a stair rail if you use a straight rail, your spindles will not be standing plumb.
I’ve been researching and looking all day to see if I can just buy step nose overlay molding to cover the extended step lip and your video shows that I can! And it looks great. Yay! 😆 other videos I watched were more about molding the vinyl planks with a heat gun but that look way to time consuming to do. My stair lip is 1-1/4” thick, so you think a vinyl overlay molding will cover it? Not too many videos of how you did this but glad I came across this option.
so glad you liked the video. I hope it helped you out a little bit please subscribe to my channel and then return if you ever have any questions feel feel free to ask if I can help you I will.
They carried a stair nosing at Lowe’s and Home Depot and you can also get them at LL flooring or any other floor supply. You just need to tell them if you have a rounded stair nose or square stair nose that does matter.
@@everydayhomeimprovements9345 I have square nose steps that are 1 1/4”. I’ll go check Lowe’s. What type of glue did you use?
Tread lock I get it from LL flooring, but gorilla glue would work well
backwards exactly backwards. this guy is a bone head. always start from the bottom and go up.
Do you not have to worry about expansion from heat/cold when the fit is very tight?
no, because you’re gluing them down, they do not expand and contract when glued
Did this get inspected?

I m just wondering why do u cut the tongue off ? Do u only remove the padding when u are doing stairs ? Why do u remove it ? Thank you great video
Only remove the padding on steps and it’s so that the glue stick to the back of the tile and we cut the tongue off the one on the step so that when it butts to the riser, you do not see a gap please subscribe to my channel it’s free and if you want to be really nice like and share and in return if you ever have any questions about anything around a homefeel free to reach out and ask if I can help I will

How thin is the nosing? I am worried it'll be a trip hazard. Is there a way to thin that out a bit? Also, I didn't know they made the matching nosing with the vinyl flooring. I should go with this idea for my basement steps.
The Nelson won’t be a trip hazard so it’s basically like 1/8 of an inch where it goes over the flooring. There’s also ways to do it where the flooring butts up to the nosing and then it’s a flush but I don’t have a video of that to show you please like and subscribe and if you want to be really Charlotte share and in return if you ever have any questions about anything around the house, feel free to ask and if I can help you out, I will.

It looks like Home Depot only sells one size of post install kit, where do I get the taller ones for stairs?
Watch the video it shows you what to do you use the same postop kit but you by 8 foot post sleeves and you cut them in half at 48 inches each when you slide that on you take the black piece that goes on the post up and you slide it in upside down in the post sleeve it’s all in the video please subscribe it’s free and if you want to be really solid lake and Cher, do you have any other questions please ask
@@everydayhomeimprovements9345 Did you use the 42 in post on the top step (deck) also?
No 36 inch post up for the top
Glad we found this video it is the same railing I'm doing. Very informative.
Glad it was able to help please like and subscribe. It’s absolutely free if you really wanna be solid, share it.
What about attaching posts to a cement or concrete? Do I do the same method but minus one of the steel plates
@sychochef6666 great question so you would only need the bottom face plate that is on the post you’ll want to mark the whole locations and you’ll wanna pre-drill using the right size drill bit for anchoring it down you wanna use red head, concrete anchors, most likely half inch by 3 inch it will tell you the size concrete bit to use to pre-drill them
Some vinyl plank products are made to be installed with the pads left on and glued. Check with your manufacturer. On those plank I use pressure sensitive glue, full spread each step and hand roll them. I never use liquid nails on anything vinyl plank especially moldings or stairnose. It will eventually fail. I use sikaflex 11fc and it works amazing! Zero complaints or failures and I've been doing it this way for about 5 years. Still good video though. We just do things differently.
Thanks for the comment I appreciate it please like and subscribe
I have the same flooring in the video. Do you suggest I leave or take off the padding for the steps? Also how many tubes of the sikaflex 11fc do you think I’ll need for 18 steps?
7
Yes remove the backing
I've only got 4 steps, do I still need to get my bottom step posts to measure 42"? The posts at the top of the steps are OK at 39" right?? Did you make the bottom 42" only because you used 2 sections to make 8 ' stair railing??
No, the post at the bottom step need to be 42 to allow for the angle and to still allow for the height of the top rail. Just leave them long if you’re getting a 8 foot 4 x 4 I would even just cut it at 48 inches if you’re getting a pose sleeve 8 foot I too would cut that at 48 inches once you put your rails up you can cut it short as you like to. I hope this helps please subscribe it’s free and if you want to be really solid like and share thank you so much if you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask if I can help you I will.
42” if you want to match the stair railing to the decks railing.
