@@skies6546 Thanks for taking the time to watch my video and comment. Feel free to show me how you would do a better landing at an unfamiliar airport after losing all engines at low altitude. Merry Christmas.
@DenDanskeKarpe Apparently life is too easy and I need a challenge. Think of the fuel and carbon saving. But I have landed a small plane with a dead engine IRL, so I like to practice - for fun.
you should rename it to how to fly a 747 like a mad man. somehow the most unstable approach iv have seen. you came in like a missile. but somehow buttered it? well done
@matthewwright9217 You understand my personal flying style. My first flight at this airport. The trick to landing without engines is to imagine that you're flying a hang glider; then it's easy.
I'm using a Quest 3 with USB connection to a Win11 PC running a 4080 Super. This video is using NVIDIA to capture the Oculus Mirror view of one eye being sent to the Quest 3. Drawing a square eye on a rectangle video means I lose the lower part of the instrument panel. I'm also using ASW or OpenXR Turbo to generate extra frames which is giving 72 fps in the headset.
I'm trying to find a decent way to record VR from MSFS and upload to UA-cam in a way you can watch it in 2D or 3D. This looks OK in 3D if you use UA-cam on a Quest 3 headset.
Thanks. The algorithm is basically stated in words on the screen. The program gives a visualization of the algorithm in action. If you were going to implement this then you are better off spending the time to understand how this works and implement the algorithm yourself. Probably the most interesting aspect of this solution is that it estimates the center of each color section without knowing the length of each color section.
I recorded 14 mins of video from the flight this video came from. Each video file is 2 mins long. I'd expect you could get over 15 mins if you just hovered. Going up & down and flying around will use more power. I did one flight into wind and had to keep it flying forwards fast to stay in position - it felt like it only lasted half as long on that flight.
This is the raw footage from the SD card uploaded to youtube. The raw footage is slightly sharper than the youtube video, but still looks heavily compressed like the youtube video. Make sure you have your youtube video on 1080p for playback, you might be getting a lower quality playback. The E511 video is heavily compressed @ 4Mbps. My cheap dashcam video, also 1080p, is 20Mbps. It gives a much sharper and clearer image. I don't know why the E511 is so heavily compressed and I don't know of any options to change it. Maybe someone else is getting better quality from the E511? I've posted 5 different videos so far. These are the best quality I can get from the SD card (64Gig EVO plus) on the E511. Remember though, this is not a $1500 drone, it's a $100 drone. It would be interesting to see if it has the power to lift a GoPro or similar. It does feel like it has some good lifting power when you hold it.
Is this Msfs 24 or 20?
That approach is fucking horrid

@@peterrfoster could have easily done S swerves on approach, or turned earlier and do a slow airspeed approach
people cant mess around in sins anymore i guess
why did you turn off all the engines

How did you get it to VR?
Butter smooth
I seem to do better landings with the engines turned off.
which vr do you use?

low approach, long glide, it's a good sailplane
Удачи❤

nice video! btw if you dont mind can you share the algorithm? thank you

No sound??
XD SO SMART!
But how far an it go with the camera connected to the phone?
Not far, its not a GPS drone so it = trash. I've returned mine and got a D58 instead.
To you what is a safe distance away from you and up in the air with out it falling out
hey Peter, I've purchased the same drone and for some reason I can't get it to record to the sd card. Any ideas?
Does it really fly for 15 min?
