The grand final performance was underwhelming. I wasn't crazy about the song to begin with, but what hoping for some more attitude like in the music video.

The Croatian song last year made direct reference to the president of Belarus in the same way Georgia's song made reference to Putin in 2008. I'm not saying I agree with Putin or Lukashenko at all, what I am saying is have a rule or don't have a rule. You cannot have a selective rule for the people you happen to agree with. In any event, my example still stands with Ukraine 2016. And if it is alright to change the lyrics to something unpolitical, then Belarus should have been allowed in 2022 with their song about rabbits.

​@@MatvejSilberstein I guess you meant Belarus 2021 (Belarus was banned with Russia in 2022. Not a song issue.). Belarus 2021 was quite clear that that song was talking about the protesters with their propaganda (title is even "I'll Teach You"). And Belarus didn't allow to change the lyrics. That's why they are disqualified. In case of Mama SC, yeah I found that some part could be political. But I guess it doesn't show directly on the lyrics so I guess that's why EBU allowed it like Israel 2024. Ukraine 2016 is definitely political entry. I don't know how this one is not banned. By the way, I don't like all of the songs on the comments. (2023 Croatia was my last place, 2024 Israel was my last second place(I forgot that Ramonda was my last place), 2016 Ukraine was my top 30.) People have to know song contest is not for a political propaganda or something. They should leave it just as a song contest.

@theworldofbms7923 oh yes. I thought Belarus was kicked out the same year as Russia. After "I'll Teach You", they submitted a banal nonsense song called "Song About a Rabbit", and the EBU rejected that as well. I agree it should just be a song contest and I am happy for the efforts they take to keep politics out. Sometimes it's a hard decision, but it's necessary. I was happy Hera Bjork won (or "won") the Icelandic national final because otherwise it would have been even more nonstop political drama this year - and we didn't need any more of that!

@@MatvejSilberstein Didn't know that Iceland this year NF had political issue. I used to watch only Latvia NF(Supernova. This year was quite disappointing though). Personally I like 2023 Greece. Song itself is just okay but the lyrics are about anxiety(not about love or politic).

I have to say I was pretty surprised... but the votes don't lie and people voted in secret. I think part of the reason is that it came last in the running order, it is generally likeable and also alot of other songs were really divisive.. so many songs came first and last for some people...

@irina1296 I thought it was pretty well done. Stellar vocals? No... but alot don't have that. I think people can have more than one skill and if the main one was choreo, it went well. Nostalgia maybe was a factor too.. it reminded me of Aqua (Cartoon Heroes or Doctor Jones or something) and it was generally uplifting and fun during a season with alot of controversy and bad behavior.

It doesn't. Much of the music I listen to is from the 70s and 80s. What I don't like is people saying "As a Madonna fan since 1982, I am APPALLED that you placed her DEFINITIVE album so low! Improve your taste" etc etc., as though being a fan that long makes their opinion trump mine... (on my tierlist). If I don't like something, I don't like it.

I think to a degree people tend to favour music of their generation, but that’s not always the case. Rebel Heart is the only M album that I don’t own completely. I downloaded maybe 3-5 songs and left the rest in the bin. Her worst along with MDNA.. I agree Hard Candy gets too much grief. Aside from 4 Minutes which is trash because of her feature artists, it’s a great album.

I LOVE that song. I also believe that the beat from that new Ariana Grande song, "Yes, and?" is **the same** as Thief of Hearts. Not really an Ariana fan, but I liked that song.... now I wonder why :D

For example, I did not mention 'Rain' at all... why!? But then I see the run time of the current video and am like... maybe I'll do a Kylie one and make people really mad :P
