Jeep 4x4 School
We test the new Nexen Roadian MTX tire on the rocks on the Gold Mt. Jeep Trail and the John Bull Gate Keeper. Great tire but judge for yourself!

Nice review. Are you still running the Falcon Wildpeak MT tires?
I'd love to know too. I got a set last year because of this video, and put soooo many miles on them... and they still have a LOT of life left, and they work brilliantly on my FJ Cruiser!
I really like the 33” Falken Wildpeak M/T on my Jeep Gladiator. I think I may stay with these tired and go to 37”…
Good man off Road trip and welcome to my channel also thank you 🙏🚔🚗❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🇳🇵
35’s or 37’s?
*Installed and tires balanced perfectly as we all know some MT's do and some dont.💡💡 **allabout.wiki/Falken** These look amazing and perform just the same. Not to loud not to quiet. Love the look, would recommend.*
I tried these Mickey Thompson ATs instead of my usual MT tires There is a big difference in handling and in the sound when driving. These are the best. You get what you paid for and I am glad that I paid for these tires.
Very cool video.......very cool music.
M/T Baja mt blows this tire away in every aspect but Ice. True fact.
I have really enjoyed these. I’ve had these in 31” on my 2004 Toyota Hilux.. they’ve done 85,000km.. that’s over 51,000 miles, mainly on road, but they’ve been on plenty of adventures. I’m replacing them with the same in 32” very soon
How many miles did you get out of these. They claim they're made out of harder compound and get longer life.
This is a helluva review... something that when we say our tires talk to us and let us know what's going on... this guy is the voice of these tires
@Arvid Olsson it sucks when you buy a tire and dont like it. I watch a bunch of reviews prior to this review and it didnt tell me much. This review was pretty good. A few of us have plated wheelers that run 37's so tires get expensive. I'm assuming you dont have 37 or larger
Well I guess I won't be installing these any time soon. No money to add adjustable control arms in at this moment...
I love my ATZ tires running them on a Tundra 4x4..
this is bar none easily the best tyre review on YT.
5:28 I gotta get a set!
They reviews on these everywhere are insanely good. About half reviews are people that have REBOUGHT a Second set. Now thats proof.
@@beerbeforebreakfast I've got a 2017 F150. These look great on a jeep so I know they'll be dynamite on my truck 💥
@@autumnembers777 yep just decided last night ATZ 275/65 R20's definitely going on the stock STX rims and getting black gloss painted. Already have MT's Baja Claw 35 x12.5 x17s on a matte rims. The crush offroad, tough to deal with on road as to be expected. Check out the rig on my channel video is "how to unload a truck the easy way" about 30 seconds worth a good laugh and u can see the current setup.
I have 33 inch Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ p3 tires on my JKU with 2 inch mopar lift. Amazing combo on snow and ice roads. Love it
How quiet/loud are they on pavement highway driving?
@@johnganshow5536 they are not as quiet as BF Goodrich ko2 but not very loud either. You will get a mild humming noise. Make sure to caliberate your jeep computer to 32.5 inch tires when you install 33 inch mickey thompson tires. This will save you gas and also from wear and tear
@@satheshsoundarrajan496 Thanks, I would get them in the 35x12.5 R17 I've got that size on the JLU now with a 2 inch Fox lift. But I currently have Goodyear M/Ts which are loud....
@@johnganshow5536 are you upgrading your gear and axils?? If you are not then you are stressing out the axil and gear. 33 inch tires and 35 inch tires when you put side by side is not much taller. So you better off using 33 inch tires and saving your axil and gears and your pocket too. It's my experience buddy. I have 33 inch Mickey Thompson Baja tires on my JKU and I off road only when I go hunting other than that this is a daily driver
@@satheshsoundarrajan496 The dealer upgraded my JLU, I bought it new with 35s and the lift...
How are the tires holding up? Are they still quiet on road?
Well done.
So how are they in mud? Compared to say... cooper stt pro?
Great review, just the kind of info I wanted to know...
No comments since 2015?
Looking forward to the 1310 I'm about to have installed on my '09 JKU with a 3.5" lift
Watch the whole video not one fucking part of him going in mudd wtf
😂😂😂
This vid has me very interested in these tires. Still somewhat torn between the Cooper ST MAXX and these. Any suggestions between the two?
HardcoreAmericanUSA. grapplers nitto
dj458 dj458 Thanks but I’ve decided between the two I’ve mentioned. I’d like to buy American
HardcoreAmericanUSA MT
Me too, is the cooper more rugged?
Mickey Thompson and Dick Cepek are owned and made by cooper tire.. I just bought the Atz's a month ago, love them so far. Just a bit more noise than my Ko2's when they were new. Time will tell. Love the looks of them though.
It’s a mud terrain tire put the damn thing in mud and make a review on that
How are you going to do a review on a mud terrain tire and not even put it in mud?
Interesting, no front locker in the Grizzlycon uh ???
How would you compare these to say Nitto Trail grapplers, Toyo Open Country MT and Cooper Stt pro?
Wait a minute! What about Mud Testing?
We rarely have mud in Big Bear an when we do, it is very different than the mud found east of the Mississippi.

You must have a great cameraman :-D
cool video
That spot at 15:27 looks AWFUL haha. Good review nonetheless.
Hello man! Looking to get some MT01 Too... how are they holding up? I have some falken AT and they have lasted me 5 years/ 63k years
Cool video, music sucks.
19:38 !!!
I attended a course about 4 years ago. Highly recommended. At the end of the day, I had a much better knowledge of what to do and how to do it in certain situations. It also gives you much more confidence it what your truck or jeep can do.
Cool video. I really enjoy watching tire reviews done properly.
I'm a long time BFG and Cooper tire buyer. lately BFG and Cooper tire prices have gotten absurd. They are way over priced. Toyo and Gooryear are even worse. I'm considering this tire and the brand new Firestone MT2 because of the value.
Great video, I love these tires already! Can anyone say what the music was? Thanks..
Korn
How many miles you get out of them simon?
This was the most useless video i have ever seen.
Hell of a tire review, seem to be a good tire
Soooo. are they good on snow
Shawn Palmer I've read about em by someone that claimed to be trying out a set long term. supposed to be great/good on Highway in all conditions. But I do remember him saying he got stuck in deep slushy mud and snow.
Would have liked to see longer side lugs
Outdoor Life check out the new Firestone destination Mt/2
I see these look to be better than their all terrain tire which absolutely sucks!
I can't speak about the new All terrain they have out, but I had the first gen all terrain they did and it was an awesome tire. Best all terrain ive ever used. The problem comes with people expecting MT performance from an AT.
I agree with the comment about AT expectations but in comparison....i had a set of BFG Long TRAIL T/A which isn't really rated as an AT tire but they outperformed Wildpeaks AT tire in all places.
sirtubemaster No they didnt. clearly if you think that, you dont offroad at all.
Rath Empire okay you got me! fortunate for me i have video after video of both. SO i do have some experience with both tires
sirtubemaster well then you don't know what a good tire performs like if you think a BFG long trail TA is good.... it's a street tire.
Nice video!! How long do you expect this tires to last??
So far, most reviews are positive and they are saying that they will last a long time. I got myself some and they look great for an all terrain tire.
great tire.....looking to replace mine with the MTZ next ......I got 45,000miles out of my ATZ's
What size lift do you need for those 35s to fit?
@@adammclennan5997 I have the 2 inch Fox lift on my JLU, the 35s work great...
Thanks Don for the tire review - especially on the feedback on the daily driver aspects.
Great preview Don...looking forward to the whole shebang!..ps great to see my jeep parked in the background too...nice ego boost for me :)
