Not a very good video, lots of "uh's" and "umm's", but here you go. I may make a replacement in the future if I'm feeling it and the wind isn't so bad. I'd been promising a few people online that I'd get a video up so I felt a bit of an obligation to get one done.

Ended up tracking her down. I originally didn't press charges as it didn't do me any good at all for her to pay the government for damage to my property. We contacted her and asked that she just pay our $250 deductible, she refused. So now my insurance is suing her for $4,100 in damages and now she has a warrant out for her arrest because I decided to press charges after she already tried to sc...

Polar Bair 600 progressive shotshell press

My cousin was having trouble getting his Bair progressive press set up and working right, so he had me take it to see if I could get it going for him, after tearing the filthy thing completely down and cleaning and re-oiling it, setting up all the stations, she seems to do just fine, with some fine calibrations with whatever hull you may be using, should pump out shells like a champ

    My goodness, thank you! I've been re-inventing all the worst ways to secure straps for a REALLY long time. Finally, I figured I should learn something. WOW! Both of these methods are amazing and brand new to me. Easy to do, easy to undo, easy to learn, and actually secure. Thank you for this! Well done!!

    Great tips - thanks! I'm not sure it would work, but I used to be a trucker, and I would roll the extra strap into a big loop (kind of like your #2), tuck the roll into the winch , and give it a couple more cranks with the winch bar. It pulls a few inches of that roll into the winch and holds it tight. It may not work with those little ratchets, though.

      I'm assuming you tried wrapping it tighter. I wonder if your strap is made out of some material that doesn't work well with the first method. I'd say just use the 2nd method.

      My shop uses toggle ball bungee cords (googling that should give you the result you need, found at Ace, Tractor Supply, or Northern Tool, etc.) to tie up our loose ends. Just roll/fold, then bungee the strap to itself. Takes about 30 seconds to roll it up and about 3 seconds to secure it and I’ve never had a single one come loose.

  • @JamieMurdock90

    #2 method relies on friction and technique (the final turn) being sufficient, so I say only use it if unraveling would NOT result in a hazard. Otherwise, #1 avoids this factor. It is a knot that only risks the slight annoyance of getting tighter over the trip and wind exposure, thus only becoming a little harder to untie. I love it!

    • @fomocowboy
      @fomocowboy 2 роки тому

      Don't all knots kind of rely on friction? I've never had either method fail.

    • @JamieMurdock90
      @JamieMurdock90 2 роки тому

      @@fomocowboy I saw you take good care to be sure it is nice and tight, and so I say you DO have the "technique" that has worked so far. But would a slight load shift causing a bit of slack allow this to unwind? Or an hour long drive at 70mph work it loose? I think it might. I agree, all knots rely on friction so my opinion as stated is a bit silly! I've had my straps unravel, thanks for the video!

    • @fomocowboy
      @fomocowboy 2 роки тому

      @@JamieMurdock90 I've been doing both methods for about 20 years and can't recall either of them failing. But I'm sure making sure it's nice and tight in the first method like you said is key.
