I am three days in, and though I told myself it wasn't about word count, I keep checking my word count and beating myself up. The words I do have down I like, but they aren't very funny. What's the novel idea?

@@jowrites it’s a ghost story. I’m on version three of it. Last year I focused on just getting words down each day. This year it’s hitting the 1,667 each day, but if I don’t do it I’m still a head of the game. How long have you been doing NaNo? I started in 2002 and I have never hit 50,000.

@@jewellindquist6726 I had to go back and look. I started Nov. 2015 but didnt' do it again until 2019. I didn't win until Nov. 2021, but I also won last year. This year I am not concerned about word count because I find writing dialogue really easy so I'm trying to write really hard things for me, so I know I won't be able to write fast.

Who knew not being interrupted constantly could help you be super productive 😂 Going away in 24 days and it will effectively be a writing retreat style holiday. First, drafting out one of the middle grade books for my series, this NaNoWriMo. Loving being part of the global writing community.
