      @ffern-re8hx I will try to start my base with 24 chains instead of 12. I will double all the stitches. I am using 4ply yarn and 4mm hook. I will update this thread once I finish my project. Edited: I don't recommend doubling up the stitches. It will be way too big!!! What I recommend is to add half of what the tutorial did. She did 12ch for the base, add half (6), it will be 18ch. Then she did 16 rows, add half (8), it will be 24 rows. Mine's still a WIP. Again, I will update this comment.

    Hey thank you for the tutorial How much yarn are you using? Does the material matter (cotton or acrylic) and what size is the yarn? Also sorry for so many questions i'm a beginner amd just needed to make one for me as i moved to a colder place amd it's almost winter amd your bonnet was just what i needed

    • @zoerose3478
      @zoerose3478 2 місяці тому

      In another comment she says the yarn is "air" by DROPS, which is a medium weight alpaca yarn. I think if you wanted it to be a similar texture on a budget you should use a size 4 acrylic. I say this because alpaca and acrylic are both quite soft. If you wanted to make something suuuper soft I would go with mohair, but it's a little harder to work with mohair as a beginner, and is usually a lot thinner. The yarn she's using also has a percentage of wool in it, but I personally wouldn't use straight up wool for this project because it can be really itchy if you wear it without something underneath. But wool is also the warmest of all the materials I mentioned 😚 hope this helps

    • @user-yt2fz7um2x
      @user-yt2fz7um2x 2 місяці тому

      @zoerose3478 omg thank you so much for all the explanation🥹🩷 i was so confused with all the materials and stuff bless you for saying wool's itchy cause i had a super cute yarn with wool mixture and had no idea what in it made my skin super irritated and yes acrylic is the only yarn i can afford so now i know it's ok with the same weight to use it instead of athers yarn thank you and god bless you One more questions if it's not too much 🥺 how much (meters/yards/..) would i need to buy cause same weight acrylic skeins have differenf amiunt in them and when people say this many skeins idk how much would be enough and have so many halfed projects for it!

      @@user-yt2fz7um2xno problem at all! <3 if you google "how much yarn do I need" the first result is a really good chart that shows how many yards you would need (depending on yarn weight) for different projects like a hat, a sweater, or a blanket ^_^

    • @annapetr9871
      @annapetr9871 Місяць тому

      @@luparker8360it all depends of yarn, your calculations. If it’s smal it means that your yarn is thinner or you’ve messed with numbers, and also as once Woman said in the comment section “wash and stretch it” while it’s wet.

    • @tansyremiszewski3213

      I also found this to come out incredibly small! What I ended up doing was using two 4oz yarns with the same hook size that the maker is using, but did 16 stitches by 22 rows for the top. To build out the sides, I did 11 rows, then reduced each row after that by 1 to 2 stitches to make it less boxy for a total of 22 rows. I then framed the front with double crochets. I also did everything as a whole piece instead of clipping the yarn. Hope that helps!
