It's not that America was ever perfect. It's not that there were ever "perfect" families like this one. It's just that somewhere along the way, Americans stopped trying. Manners, grace, kindness, decorum, modesty - people stopped teaching their kids these things. Adults stopped striving for them. Those things still exist in people who just naturally ARE, but they're not things that are taught or what people strive to be anymore. Now, it's just do whatever you want - whatever comes naturally. Bad... good... and the mantra is "who am I just judge?"
Wow, what a trip to see this again. I was 8 when this series came out and I had watched the original series on TBS & A Very Brady Christmas by the time this aired out so I knew all the characters (including the spouses of the grown up kids) and even at 8, I got that the vibe was very different. I mean you had Bobby almost dying right out the gate (which seriously alarmed 8 year old me at the time because that crash was somewhat intense), Perter being a horndog throughout the 5 episodes that aired, fake Marcia having a drinking problem & a constantly out of work husband (but that's what you get when you marry someone after going on only 7 dates) and Jan having fertility issues. Now I get what they were trying to do at the time by making it a nighttime drama & having the family deal with real issues that didn't always get resolved in 30 minutes, but it just never got a good rhythm going. Of the kids mariages, I enjoyed Greg & Nora's the best and how funny to see a young Jonathan Taylor Thomas (going by his real last name Weiss) as their son Kevin. I also liked seeing how well Florence Henderson & Robert Reed still worked together, but its sad in retrospect knowing that he was diagnosed with HIV just a year after the series ended in March of 1990 and was probably not feeling his best while filming it.
MUST SEE THE BRADY 500. BOBBY GETS HURT IN THE MOVIE AND DIDN'T THINK HE WOULD BE ABLE TO WALK DUE TO THE INJURY AND GETS MARRIED TO TRACI HIS WIFE AND FAMILY IS AMAZED AS TO HOW WELL HE DID WITH HIS RECOVERY FROM GETTING INJURED WHEN HE WAS DRIVING HIS CAR .🚗
that thumbnail is really something. It encapsulates an era perfectly. I really miss that world. the hair, the makeup, the jewelry the camera quality. I really miss that time
Agreed, and for myself I would add the pastel clothing and the pastel furniture. I didn't care for it myself back then but now looking back on it gives me a warm safe childhood vibe, from when things were so much simpler
@@cathyizzo7886 I have found that I Really love pastel colors and miss them I used to see them everywhere as a kid and barely ever see them now I truly wonder why as they are beautiful colors
The Brady TV family is among the best. Rest in Peace Robert Reed, Ann B. Davis, Florence Henderson, Allan Melvin (Sam the Butcher), and Sherwood Schwartz. You all gave us many years of happiness.
I find the music cue that plays from 43:29 - 44:30 particularly moving, the sadness of a family that usually brought lighthearted joy in the original series. Who'd ever thought, back in the original series, that this particular family would have a moment as in this scene.
Robert Reed loved his pancakes buttery! Lots and lots of butter! He also loved pancake syrup! He loved his pancakes sticky! Really buttery and really sticky!

Doesn't Seth MacFarlane look like Peter Brady? And I always thought Florence Henderson looked like Sophia Loren.

This is the "serious" show Robert Reed wanted---morose and silly and Not entertaining . 💯
why was Maureen M. MIA for this one?
Sucks the audio is bad
Bobby was a better driver than a magazine salesman. He finally got his trophy in the beginning 😂
Why no audio
No sound!!
There's no god damn sound
I know it’s mentioned ad nauseum, but Florence Henderson and Robert Reed really are great as everyone’s ideal parents.
You can't celebrate homecoming and recovery without a little Wesson oil.
Seriously ? Yikes!
Is that Florence Henderson singing the intro?
cindy at sunrise on air at midday.
They ruined it with that fake Marcia.
A long Time ago.. With Breadys.
Unless Marcia is rude “Marcia, Marcia Marcia
The minister was on Little House on the Prairie
❤I love the Brady 500 alot
What happened to the house Jan and Marcia bought together?
Jonathan Taylor Thomas also was in the man of the house with Chevy Chase
I love watching the Brady Bunch alot
Nobody wanted to see the Brady Bunch in a serious drama lol
Why would have an old lady singing the Brady bunch song sounds so old fashioned not cool 🌺should💐 be fresh 🌸 and bright 🌼….love💕the Brady Bunch ✨🌟💖👍
Bobby won a trophy like his siblings have
NO SOUND!
How did the feud berween Robert Reed and Sherwwliod Schwartz end?
That’s MARY CADORETTE!!!
Oh good grief that theme song and Florence’s topless sounding striptease vocals are awful. But i dont care.

Not so much the colors, but really the style of the furniture and clothes.
Who is that playing the piano? It looks like Bill Hayes.
Never knew this existed. Is this a movie?
Go Go Go.... and break that cup, Alice. :D 2:50
Why Alice have another family

The song...I can't, i just can't.
Reverend Alden!
How anyone watch it . Can’t listen to story.
Why did they have a pic of a little girl instead of Marcia's pic? That pic looks like the girl is Cindy's age!!! 😱😱😱😱 Way messed up!!!!

Fun fact: The minister was in The Green Mile
Alice is still calling Bob Brady "Mr. Brady"?
