Documenting my bike builds through out. Starting with a giant CRS 4.0. Check out repairs, builds and regrades as I continue to gain more knowledge.
New bike crankset. EVOSiD AliExpress. lightweight upgrade.
EVOSiD crankset from AliExpress. Paid 34 plus postage. 116g lighter than previous X6 however X6 are great cranks, I think the EVOSiDs are more for road bikes. As I run a bb60 ultegra bottom bracket, these crank are perfect. Plus the fact that I don't ride high speed down mountain bike trails. More of a relaxed rider, who commutes most of the time. Was asked to make this bike rideable. It's a BTWIN rocker 340 not sure what year, as the bike is debadged. Customer had a small budget to revive this. So had to think about the parts I would use and throw away. As on a budget I wanted to make it lighter, so I changed the tyres, wheels, handlebar, Hb clamp, drive train to a 1x7 mega range with a 34t narrow wide chainring, at the front. I also ch...

Finally making progress - Can see a mirror shine. Please excuse the poor video quality, saving up to get a new camera. Any recommendations are welcome. Step 1. Course Sand paper with 60 - 100 grit. Step 2. Applying the paint stripping gel (Nitromors). Step 3. Sanding with course to fine 400 - 5000 grit sand paper. Step 4. Finally polishing the frame. Found some cheap woven brake cables from TEMU of all places. Fhese are actually light than my previous brake cables, so I had to give them a try. Enjoy the video!!!

Shaved over 800g weight off this Claud Butler Volante, vintage MTB from 1995 by changing tyres and brake cable housing. tyres from AliExpress.INNOVA PRO X BOBCATS. 26X1.95" in size. TRLREQ brake cables from TEMU. Both very cable.

Big weight saving of 800g. On this bike total weight of the bike is now 10.6kg. Good for a 1995 Mtb.

that s heavy 510 , have rotor 3 d for 50 EURO 514 gr all inclusiv with 175 leng the bottom bracket and 53 (plateau)+ 5 screw . But some secret bridge cut away .but for 34 okey .
Thank you for your comment. Yes the rotor 3ds are lighter. I have checked for this crankset on Google. Rotor 3d crankset costs alot more. The evosid is a budget set at £34. When you say 50 euro, is that 2nd hand?
I've got a 3 year old bike but it's built to old school specs so it came with thumbies friction shifters and center pivot caliper brakes. I'm thinking of swapping for dual pivot brakes and was really wondering about this exact issue. How serendipitous that the algorithm recommended this video. Thanks, man!

I agree with you! I didn't use the original parts. However, as this bike frame that was sitting in a shed for years, getting rusty and most of the original parts were missing or broken, I believe gave it new life. ❤

@@nikitochka09hi mate, cost £160 so far, but I had a few parts that I salvaged from other bikes to keep the cost down. Handlebars and front cranks are from an old bike. Most parts are from AliExpress or eBay. Handle bar grips and the brake cables are from TEMU 😆.Original front wheel and new back wheel. Will update this video with links of all the parts.
