I have ..U1218 BSI clearing of the high frequency control reawakening fault... will this procedure fix that?
dude. did you really replaced only one VVT pulley when you had engine disassembled?
Mine doesn't start now
@@David-qy7ge prime the pump a few times without starting then give it a go, must have some air in there
I did still doesn't work@@TheDrivewayExperiment
Hi Can you tell me what size belt you put on ? And where did you get the tensioner . Thanks paul
On this same truck
On this same truck
Show me a video of how you took apart the steering wheel to put on the steering wheel sensor that would be so so so cool but if not then thanks anyway
Hello buddy I don’t know if you can tell me ? I’ve got a zafira b and I’m replacing the back engine mount (gearbox ) and I’ve noticed the bolts are tricky to get too , can this be replaced frond under the car ?
Hello, thanks for the video, I have now heard that an oil change every 5,000 miles is optimal, would you agree?
@@SeosamhMacUaid hi thanks watching, you shpuld follow manfacturers guidelines for oik specification and intervals but yes shorter intervals is only positive and will prolong the engines life
@@TheDrivewayExperiment Thanks
Hi mate great informative video. I want to attempt a replacement of dephasers, and was wondering do I need to lift the engine block up with a jack to remove the left engine mounts, or can they be taken off without Jack's? Thanks
@@kierana2577 thanks mate, yes you will need to support the engine one way or another
I have exactly the same issue as you. The horn stopped working and it was not dependent on the lights being off or on. I have a Zafira B which is now 16 years old and it isn’t worth repairing the CIM module. However what I have found is, isolating the battery for a few hours brings it back into operation for several hours, just enough to get it through an MOT. Once through I can see if it’s worth tinkering with
Try with remote key. Then if required placed solenoid
If your standing facing your passenger side wheel. The right hand side of gear box has a amallish rubber tube to a metal thing attached to the end of the gearbox, do you know where that tube attaches to?
Whats the part name to order bro??
Thanks for the video. I believe the timing belt change interval for this engine is 100k / 10 years. Did you ever notice the water pump to be noisy before it seized?
Yeah it is, no nothing it was fine The only thing I can think of was the antifreeze not performing as it happened right when we had the lowest temperatures big freeze
For 2.0 hdi 0w/30?
The lads who did the MOT on my Astra H TT last year decided to fail it only on the rear axle bushes, usually I would do the work my self but to teach them a lesson, it cost me £200 for them to get one of their undesirables to sort it for me! bargain!
Nice 😀
Is this jumping normal ? I have 2.0 hdi with start-stop system and upper tensioner always jumps. No noise, no visible issues....just indicator jumping same like yours. Generator pulley welded due to start-stop system. I heard that issue may be with lower tensioner
I'm not sure to be honest if it is normal or not but replacing the tensioner stopped the noise
looks sweet in red mate good luck with it
Thanks mate 😀
hi I have the sound like you have at the end of the video but my tailgate is not opening only with the key
Botten problem
I get the same noise from my 1.6 Astra 2009. Did you also get loss of power when the engine got up to temp? I only start hearing the noise when the engine has warmed up, and I lose power at the same time.
Didn't notice loss in power as I never really took it out but mine was the same get the noise once its warmed up not when cold
My top tensioner failed and when I took it off the belt is very tight.. its this normal
Not too sure but think you should have some travel on the aux belt when it's on correctly not really tight, I know there's alot of belts for these (with A/C, without A/C, start stop etc different combinations) measure the bekt check it's correct one and orientated around each pulley correctly.
How long did it take you please to replace start to finish? My mechanic charged me £250 for parts on fitting and said he priced me for 4 hours? Thank you
Prob about 4hrs ish, there could be ways to trim it down, and if it can be done in situe but it is a ballache of a job getting the bushes out but could also vary from car to car
I’m just in the process of doing this on my Twintop. I didn’t disconnect the brake lines though. I just unbolted the calipers and left the pipes attached. Just a note for anyone doing this on a Twintop, be aware that it has extra bracing beams, which also have to be unbolted, to allow the beam to drop out from under the car. These have 3 bolts each at the front and 4 each at the rear, which are internal Torx. I removed the rear one completely but just loosened the front ones enough to allow the brace beams to drop to the floor.
The horn is so dinky
Why does the horn sound like that?It sound much better in my father's astra h
Fr
Nice video , i had a mobile mechanic do mine as i really didnt fancy it mid winter , he did not remove the bumper just removed the front undertray and he could get acces to the bolts altough it would probably be easier for the home mechanic to just take the bumper off as he had a van full of tools i ciuld only dream of owning
Just about to do mine, and says 3.7 litre with oil filter change.
excellent work, can you let me know the link for purchase of the tensioner please? thanks
www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/dayco-13792624.html This was mine but maybe some slightly cheaper options
How long did that take you?
Think it was an afternoon to strip down and find the problem then a day to fit new parts etc, not too bad to be honest
Hi. what make/model electric ratchet do you use mate? Thanks
Thank you for the video! Amazing information! I had to do it twice, but on the third time I did it correctly.😉👍
so... I have a 2008 c4 grand picasso it has a similar issue but not the same I think. I think i need to change some tensioner too because it makes alot of rattleling noise but I am also having a load squeaking sound when I turn on the a/c at half strength. but it disappears if I max out the a/c. also the same load squeak happens if the a/c is no when I brake or let off gas. or expecially when I reverse. any advice?
The 'hold remote close button for 10 seconds' - is that with ignition on or off? Bearing in mind the car is keyless, so you need to put the key in? I'm also assuming when you took the key out and tested the remote, the ignition was off?
Thanks it worked first time😜
Did you program the entirety of the CIM using opcom?
Mines on 117k too and my heater just stopped working 😂
Ha ha noway
Thank you 👍💪
Hi man i think u put that steel wire (with white plastic piece on the end) upsidedown, it can work but might cause problems in future. i put it intuitively same way but u have to twist that wire little bit. :) just check ur video how it was connected before u remove the part.
You've done a good job there mate it's a bit worrying that the water pump seized with such low mileage at 43K maybe it's just a one off as I've never heard them go like that. I just hope the one I've bought with 65K doesn't decide to do the same.
Strangley enough it happened when we had the extreme cold weather deep freeze, Not sure if that was something g to do with it.
Cool video bud you make it looks easy! I have the same car 14 plate Grand picasso. Started getting a bit more vibration when sat idling. Could it be this or the engine mounts? If so have you ever changed the engine mounts? How many have this car got? Thanks in advance.
The car is rusting pretty badly
Is this an electrical type thermostat not wax type?
Thanks for mentioning the Ribe bit - I didn't have one so ordered one before I start the job. I haven't seen anyone else on their videos mentioning this.
Was your car with AC and start/Stop?, Do you have the part numebrs of the upper tensioner and the belt?
Yes mine is start stop and has AC I used www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/dayco-13792624.html And www.eurocarparts.com/search/202735215
I actually made up a wheeled trolley for the sub-frame so that i could just jack it up and lower without using half a house worth of bricks. Goo video though.
Hi mate just subscribed. I am thinking of buying an Astra 1.9 SRi, (fairly cheap) and the seller says that he is only getting gears 1-4, is there anything I should check before lowering the gearbox? I have a further 2 mk 5's one being the 1.7 CDTi where upon I have had the subframe dropped at least 4 times!!! Changed my steering rack etc, and then replaced the whole clutch on it. I just whistle now and the sub-frame drops itself!!! LOL. I was wondering about this 1.9 that i'm going to have a look at. Any advice would be appreciated.
If your test driving maybe try working the 5th gear in see if you can get it other than that check the linkage from the selector to box if you can see it under the bonnet think battery is in the way. Think my video shows the positions the rod should be in for all gears.
hello guys i have the same problem with my zafira 2012 1.6 petrol, i changed both of them with a chanise make form ebay and it is still making noise so o have opened it again and checked them they still have a bit of movement, do you think they are still faulty? thanks. jawid.
I had both pulleys replaced on my 10 plate Astra mk6 Sri garage said best to do both at same time and had to replace timing belt too which had only been done 12 months earlier resulted in £1300 repair bill but rattle completely gone and Car runs beautifully
Glad to hear that, yeah defo best to do both at same time
How did you get linkages off the top of gearbox please? I can't pop the the second one off I've tried everything
Hi mate which are we talking about? The link is a quick release pin and the mount on the gearbox I can't remember think it just screwed in, see my 2nd video I had to bodge it as the hole in the box was knackered
@TheDrivewayExperiment I've done it now I was about to give up and remembered I had a crowbar which popped it right off it was just am awkward angle , thanks for your reply though:)
