this video and comment section have opened my eyes to the fact people see polyamorous relationships and open relationships as equal. Poly isn't a sexuality but it is a relationship type, where all parties know who's involved and are usually in the relationship together, i.e. throuple. But an open relationship is a normal couple that allows each other their own romantic relationship outside of theirs, there usually is no overlapping like in poly relationships. I think it is possible for three people to love each other and have a relationship (Not opening up to anyone but themselves). For example, I am a demisexual woman and would love to be in a relationship with 2 bisexual men if given the opportunity. 🤷‍♀️

I think poly is like a sexual orientation in that it's an inherent preference for a small group of people. where poly people went wrong is by classing it as a political issue, like its 'decolonizing your relationships'. this convinced 15% of the population into thinking that they should be poly, when its probably closer to 5%
