Chargen Scenarios - An Alternate Start mod for Morrowind
This video showcases Chargen Scenarios, an Alternate Start mod and Chargen Framework for Morrowind.
- Chargen menus are reordered to make more sense. Now you pick your race before picking your name
- Currently, all the starting scenarios from CharGen Revamped have been implemented
- Provides an interop for easily adding more starting scenarios, which define the starting location, what items the player starts with, and more
- A given scenario can have multiple starting locations, which it picks from randomly
- Integrates with other chargen mods like Character Backgrounds, Ahead of the Classes, MWSE Character Creation Name Generator, Randomised Chargen. With all of these installed, you can fully randomise every aspect of your character

OAAB Data is a simple asset repository, it's not difficult to install. What issues are you having with it?

Probably MGG weather darker nights. Also put the gamme down, so its still bright enough at day, but darker when its night. Try finding that sweetspot

Your mods have enriched my Morrowind playthroughs for years. For my current character, a "Shipwrecked" bard I developed a great background with your mods and I can immerse totaly with them and tell a new story. It's like playing a completely new game 👏🙏

your mods honestly give most skyrim mods a run for their money. the amount of features you are able to stretch out of morrowind is incredible.
God damn it Mer, you're gonna make me download Morrowind again while I'm doing my Fallout TTW playthrough lol..seriously thank you for the hard work you and the modders do to create such innovate mods for what is without a doubt the best Video game ever made...morrowind. I have to ask if this is possible, but in the future is it possible to create a mod that make the seas lively with ships and Pirates? I can see you or someone else with your skills. I love Tam rebuilt but the seas fill lifeless at times...anyway great job and stay awesome.
A pirate mod would be awesome! There's been a few mods out recently that implement boat travel pretty convincingly, so it could be done. I'm also working on a treasure hunting mod, which would go really well with pirate ships.
You could consider Abbot's sea life mod, which adds auto-spawning aquatic wildlife appropriate to the body of water, and I believe also moving boats and 'river striders' that sail across the seas

Excellent work! One thing I do find immersion breaking though with fishing mods in general is the tendency to always use the modern day, high tech western style of angling as it is what most developers of mods and games fom the west are familiar with.This being the stereotype of the notion of fishing in our minds. Fishing however, can be done in a myriad of ways, from handline fishing, noodling by hand, using traps, crab pots or casting nets. Even some South American or Asian methods, damming of a stream and then temporarily 'poisoning' the water using toxins from a type of vine, stunning the fish. All these would be an interesting thing to see, and the cliché 20th century style of fishing with a rod with a reel could be avoided

@@merlordmodding that's right, it's a lovely feature and I love the intuitiveness you consistently put into your mods. I know it's technically difficult to make mods user friendly like yours are. I wasn't trying to criticise, I just like to emphasise the originality/ immersion aspect of modding. Things like people making Pirates of the Carribean type pirate mods just irritates me because of the cliche factor. This does not suffer from that, I guess I just prefer a simple, low tech feel to everything in Morrowind. Don't mind my rambling though, all modders are entitled to their creative freedom

Any plans for OpenMW support?
Supporting OpenMW would involve rewriting it from scratch, not just the code but the way the meshes and animations work. Beides, I don't think the animated fishing line would be possible at all with OpenMW's current Lua API. I don't make OpenMW mods myself, it would be an entirely new coding framework to learn. But OpenMW modders are free to take any of my mods and make OpenMW versions of them.
Have you considered adding different fish per region? Both Vanilla but also for something like ShoTN, Province Cyrod and TR?
Some fish are region specific, but I haven't done any for the TR regions yet

A high resolution version of each painting is stored in "<Morrowind Install Directory>/Data Files/Textures/jop/saved". It only keeps track of the last 20 of each painting type to save space (you can change how many are saved in the mod config menu), so pull out any you like before they get overriden.

Nope, vanilla with MWSE. OpenMW does not have the scripting capabilities to do stuff like this yet.
