Hi. I'm an Archive Producer currently working on a documentary set in Philadelphia in the 1990s and I am looking for footage of the El train in this era. Do you own this video, and if so, would you be open to licensing your footage to us?
INSPIRATIONAL THANKS FOR MAKING MY DAY.
THANKS LOREN.
TexRail's trains sound like they have the same horns.
Ommind Jooy cars.
So cool how you got video of the milbourne station and the old Sears building . I spent lots of time hanging out at both places
I just realized if they had like a extra set of a 100 more trolleys maybe 56 and 23 would still exist as a trolley and that means there will be no buss running the line that means Route 15 wouldn't have PCC if they got more Kawasaki lrvs but knowing SEPTA funding and all that crazy stuff never works out for some reason but for some reason there were plans for a damn King of Prussia expansion which was happily cut off
Beautiful
Wow, the infamous M3 Almond Joy's, Hot 🔥 Damn, I've been a passenger of those trains since the 70s, they'd rock you to death, but fun to ride!!! I grew up in West Philly, 52nd and Market is where we would board the train, wether East or West Bound!!! As Archie and Edith Bunker would say, "Those were the Days", lol!!!
1993
Glorious and classic Haven of Rest, and thank you Lorin Whitney!!
Lovely! Who’s arrangement is this?
When Roberto clemente middle school was under construction 1994
Looking for a video that shows the old market street bridge I was wondering why the West side of the El looks newer the the East side When the west side was built first Then later on extended to frankford But it makes sense now The bridge and the stations got remodeled back in 2000 something 🤷🏾♂️ idk
Market side got a complete rebuild Frankford side got deck replacement and structural rehab
The Budd trains were almost the same as the R 38 trains of 1966 that ran on the A line in my old hometown of NYC except for not having the motors for the ceiling fans on the roof.😊
Thank you friend This is an old video, but I will send you an up to date one
Does it show Kensington when it wasn't zombieland like it's today?
Beautiful. By any chance do you have the album "Christmas with Haven" by Haven of rest Quartet from 1989?
No I don't.
@subwaysurface9102 by any chance do you have a better video where I can when Roberto Clemente Middle school was under construction in Erie Av
When I first saw the place when I was 16, summer of 1966, I wanted to live in Millbourne.
can i see the full dvd
My granda loved this song so much he was buried with the song at his funeral
SEPTA originally wanted this paint scheme on all of its street vehicles, including the PCCs that went through the GOH Program. I believe this was the only K-Car, # 9063, with this scheme, and one PCC car, # 2730 (now PCC-II car # 2330), had this scheme before SEPTA decided to ditch the "mask." They eventually did this with the Neoplans and the AM General trackless trolleys, as well. The N5s on the Norristown High Speed Line were originally supposed to have the "mask" as well. I did see one GM New Look bus painted in this scheme, as well as a Flxible New Look Bus, but none after that. Perhaps because SEPTA retired all of the New Look buses by 1988.
Back when SEPTA had no issues running trolleys on detour routes. Between 1988 and 1992, due to construction of a replacement bridge at Belmont & Girard, SEPTA ran the 15 on Lancaster Avenue between Girard Avenue and 40th (westbound) & 41st (eastbound) Streets. The first scene showed the 15 turning left on 41st Street from Lancaster Avenue, which would go to Ogden Street and make a right, then make a left on 40th Street before heading back eastbound on Girard Avenue towards the Zoo. While this is no longer possible to turn left on 41st Street because the connecting track was severed, the 15 can still more of less follow this detour, only it will be much longer (right on 40th, right on Filbert Street one block away from Market Street, right on 41st).
these are similar to the r32s made by the budd company in 1964 for NYCT
would have lasted as long as the 32's if they had AC in my opinion
Really brings back memories because I used to ride the 40Something year old trolley cars & the near 50 year old Budd trains over the years plus I remember the subway scenes way before the were all remodeled sometime later on through the decade .
2:20, 2:29, 5:34 and 6:34. We will never see or hear those sounds ever again on SEPTA'S route 56.
That humming sound when they were either leaving the station or stopping in the stations were classic
propulsion system.
Kawasaki lrv is perfect for this line
@moabite sounds the media and Sharon Hill line are Light Rail all the trolleys and the Market Frankford line Line all run on Pennsylvania Trolley gauge except for the Norristown High Speed Line and board Street line run on standard gauge
Sometimes you feel like a nut....
I'm a train and I approve this video!!!
Haven of Rest broadcast was my father's favorite program.
This is not septa train this is trolley
I AM BLESSED BY THIS MUSIC.
My dad worked there till retirement he went deaf from all the sheet metal banging. Another era gone everything’s gone but the wind
Missed the great ol Days...
There's Always Will Be Hope Septa Kawasaki Lrv An Pcc Trolleys Vehicles And New Light Rail Trolleys Vehicles Will Come Back One For Tourists And Services Routes in The Future Present
We're Love Septa Kawasaki Lrv An Pcc Trolleys Vehicles Too But name the trolley lines and tie the one that was part of Route 31 and the 41 Before of Same Time
MF and MTA metro north railroad are the only systems in north america that use under running third rail shoes
Wonderful song. If the guy had dropped the mike this could have been a good version but one bad apple spoiled the bunch. I respect confidence but make sure you deserve it. This is not a solo. Its a group effort.
I love how you captured the perimeter of Fern Rock before the loop was extended all the way around the yard. Back then, it only ran as far as the big shop in the middle of the yard.
Did you ever set foot in the Manayunk area back in the mid-1990s? If so, do you remember when the catenary cables were taken down off the Pennsy viaduct into Ivy Ridge?
Were the LRVs usually assigned to that line?
No they weren't.
This makes you wonder how an Articulated KAWASAKI would've looked..... 🤔
Does Anybody have Lorin Whitney's version of I Will Sing of My Redeemer
Does anyone Have the Song I Will Sing of My Redeemer By lorin Whitney
used to ride to EL to 69 street all the time in the 70s and 80s. i would ride it to work during the early 80s to bridge and pratt. then catch the B bus to woodhaven.
Olden days. K cars still had blue front markers
