Appreciate your time and effort for the review. Thanks!
They're not $100 anymore they're 150+😢😮😅
Good review, your daughter stole the show!
fixing cars like this is not smart for emergency yes for a permanent repair definitely foolish
to stop the vapor lock you get a plastic carb spacer and they have these fuel filters that have a little outlet on them to release any pressure if the gas starts to boil.
I cant find the bypass pulley anywhere do you know where i can get one?
There’s nothing as cool or as uniquely sounding as an old Ford. I have 72 F250 Camper Special, and I just love admiring it’s looks. Thanks for the post.
Is it possible to make the exhaust quieter? I like my 1970 F250, but wish it was a little quieter.
With good maintenance, there’s no reason to be worried about reliability. I have a ‘69 f250, a ‘72 f350 and a ‘53 f100 and they’ve never let me down. Proper Preventative maintenance will make owning these treasures always enjoyable.
how often do you change the oil and stuff?
@@pace5316every 3k and run zinc
Maybe because those tires are not for heavy duty, and are ment for regular driving.
How is the ride? I saw that is has a like a shackle from the rear that puts some tensions in the springs to keep a softer ride when not under load. I really think it’s a beautiful truck but I do have a bad back so I can’t really handle harsh suspension.
So how did you rerouted the belt
He didn’t need to reroute the belt. He put an AC bypass pulley
Some mag wheels would add to its attitude. The 70s Ford trucks are right up there with chev square bodies.
I got a 1970 f250 custom, Manuel trans and I want to fix it up and drive as a daily kinda. Definitely keeping my ranger though
The sway could be caused by the way the load is spread on the trailer.
This was helpful doing the same thing cold winter night for my son on same vehicle With same spring plan I removed the 3 front 15 mm nuts But wasn’t moving your video was good for answering that With the 2 in back and way to not have to mess with the lines Thank you We are Indy this was helpful
I drive a 85 bullnose (year first driver permit) BUT dream of a 1970 f250 ( year I was born ) wanna sell
I have a set on my 00 gmc c3500 dually and they have 30,000 miles on them and they are wearin exellent and have not had any issues with them and far as off road they clean great and go great in snow
my mustache is just like your previous one. I just purchased some clubman brown and wasn't sure on what to do. Thank You for your video, very informative. 👍👍😀
Put a set on my Silverado HD, regularly pull 5,000+ lbs. 18 months 20k miles and the tread is down to having to replace all. Don’t at all recommend for a work truck!
ZC Rubber who makes West Lake tires started making industrial tires in 1958, but that's a tire market unknown to passenger car owners. ZC started making passenger and light-truck tires in 2015, and flagship passenger tires in 2020. ZC is the 10th largest tire maker, but they're just breaking into the passenger and truck tire market. They're not cheap due to poor quality, but because they are new in the passenger market. It'll be many more years before they get the same brand recognition of the more expensive but not necessarily more capable older tire brands. You cannot break into an established product market to command the same prices as the long established brands, and by then consumers will reminiscence how cheap they used to be. I had not heard of the West Lake brand until I started looking for to replace a spare tire (mfr date 2003, so way too old -- mileage expires tires, but so does age -- and 10 years is too old, and shy of 20 years is far too old).
I've owned a 77 for 3 years now, and just bought my first bumpside.. Been off the road since 94.. Cant wait to bring it back to life!! They're so cool..
That shit was horrible
I had a '67 f250 in the late '80's, but sold it to a nagging neighbor that had to have it, and I wanted a 4x4. Drove my father-in-laws '76 f250 camper special for 10 years working on the property until my brother-in-law took it just because. Now I'm thinking about a '70 f250 4x4 because I could use a real truck on my property...
yay can't wait for 1000 miles of trailer sway! just picked up 4 of these totally feel you on the nail situation doing junk removal I'm always at the scrap yard and I just can't see spending 250 to 300 just to put plugs in them after the first week
Do you remember what cam you are running
A couple of guys, in the comments, mentioned "tread squirm." That was the first thing that popped into my head when you first mentioned sway. I had a new set of "drive tires" put on my 18 wheeler and immediately noticed that the truck felt more "squirrely." The lugs were deep enough that they gave a little. The tire tech compared it to those rubber welcome mats that have those "bristles" on them. When you stand on those mats, you can feel the bristles kinda move side to side under your feet. Once the edges on the lugs rounded off a little, the handling got better. Seems like one shouldn't have to deal with that sort of thing on a tire, but apparently it's not that uncommon.
I daily drive an 85 f150. Its actually the only vehicle I own. And wouldn't trade it for 10 new cars.
Good look. Lovely daughter 😁
10 ply tires are a must if you're towing and hauling much. Rotating every 5k miles is key to even wear and longevity. Saving money upfront doesnt always pay off in the end.
Cool 😃👍 i daily drive a 1964 Chrysler valiant slantsix . Summer and winter 🤠🇸🇪
I've had mine for just over 3 years. Been over rock, sand, pavement and everything in between. No issues.
Really clean engine
I have a 97 Buick just as clean lmao
It’s hard to drive these things depending on your area. I have a 78 f150 and between 3-7 pm on certain roads forget about it. Traffic is nuts to butts
That is a nice truck. I had a 1970 green and white f100 that looked just like that in the 80’s, I drove it in high school, it was a 3 on the tree, 302 V8, same lights on top.
the first 3.8 had an alternative belt routing and a delete pulley was not necessary.
So what did you do about the extra slack in the belt ?
He put an AC bypass pass pulley. There is no extra slack
Is that truck burning oil? Looks just like my 360 that smokes some.
prob unburn fuel
I have the same truck. I find that starting can be tricky, but two good pumps on the accelerator usually does the trick. Not three for once it's flooded you're looking at 30 minutes. But the collector plates and not having to DEQ or register every year is freaking awesome. Mine has the FE390. Yes, it will roast the tires.
Get an electric fuel pump and run the fuel through your stock mechanical fuel pump.
I want one of these trucks
May have one for sale. Are you aware of bluebook value?
What length glasspacks are you running?
12" each one.
Have these on my d21 pathfinder/terrano and they have been great!
great stache brother, and i have just ordered this wax from amazon ...
I'm completely blind and typing with a screen reader. I love the sound this truck makes! I'd love to hear it start up!
I have a 1971 f100 I'll make a video for you on a start up I have some videos of my ford running on my page an a burnout if you want to check it out.
Hi from the UK, I’m going to pick up a 1971 F250 Camper Special this morning, bog standard, my 1st American vehicle, and your video has confirmed I’m doing the right thing!
I mean come on.....the steel on these vehicles is like 10 times thicker than the vehicles of today. I have a 1970 F250 and the thing is a freakin' tank.
i love my shitty old ford truck. its just so exactly what you think it is. its an old gas hog that has a v8 4x4 and a 5 speed manual. Its a tank in the snow and I love being able to just get in and running through the gears. plus it will drive over pretty much anything.
Great Video, I’m contemplating buying a 68 f250. My dad always drove older vehicles and I grew up riding around in a 68 c10. I also build hot rods and own a 1949 Studebaker R series but I don’t daily it. I love that you choose to show early morning commute. That’s what I’m looking forward to the most is early morning drives.
300x4=1200
Thanks, I just ordered 4 for my F-150, 18" wheels... $108 each shipped on Walmart website!
You experienced "tread squirm" due to no smaller blocks between the outer larger tread blocks to stabilize the tread.
Question sir, so my compressor hasn't gone out yet bit recently started making noise from the pulley of the ac compressor, my question is since you rigged your sons car does it still make noise from the bad bearings in that ac compressor pulley? And did you just unbolt the compressor and disconnect the ac lines?
The sound is the ac clutch burning. You would have to either replace the whole commpresser. do a delete or bypass the ac.
