Magnifique 🤩 😊
Enjoyed that. You made it look easy. Chapeau.
Well done David. Very inspiring. Quick question; how did you go about sorting visas? Like ; just apply at the borders ?
These 4 videos of your RTW trip were absolutely brilliant to watch. It probably seems like a lifetime ago already but congrats on an epic trip and capturing it so well. Happy cycling!
Hey how do you earn money in this 1 year span ? So curious
Incredible achievement!
Thanks for the great content David, question.... for triathlon during the speedwork block you mentioned do train a quality workout per discipline a week? and how about strength workouts, do you do any?
Good job bro you're awesome
That’s amazing!!! Truly inspirational
Amazing series, what advice would you give to anyone that wants to try very long distance trips like this with bicycle, what are the things to plan and look out for ?
Have strong reasons for going, otherwise you'll want to come home as soon as it inevitably gets hard!
👍👍👍
Where you are now?
Am frm Meghalaya
Hello sir nice your travel
Hi David, incredible and inspirational trip, such an achievement!
Your breath-rate, or speaking ability suggests you are not in the mafetone zone. Speaking or even singing is close to the mark. To think, what you suggest has made impressive improvements in spite of not being quite in the zone!
So jealous watching every video😅😅😅🚴🚴🚴
Amazing journey man 👌👌🚴🚴🚴
Terrible video. Bad filming while you were running and out of breath. Stand still will you! And show your data and results visually on on the screen. Couldn't stand to watch it to the end.
Just this video in the play list is public, the rest privat?
Well done man
Could I join you
Good effort
making this look easy
amazing! It's good to see Merica minus the doom and gloom news stories
So sad to watch this and think this was filmed just a year before our freedoms and liberties were taken away to live under an authoritarian regime. How easy things were just 2 years ago, and how we took it all for granted. Well done for doing it. One of the last people ever to achieve this before the global cull really takes effect 😪.
wtf
very inspirational
How many km per day did you, approximately?
Without rest days about 145/150km, but including rest days about 100km
Super impressive David. You rode right past a restaurant in Montenegro I went to 2 years ago! I was wondering how you managed the local currency changes on your trip. I presume you couldn't use a credit card everywhere, so had to get local currency at times. Was this easy to exchange as you went between countries, or did you end up having to take a bit of a financial "hit" on this from a logistical perspective?
I always made sure to have some USD$ on me, as most people will exchange / take it, but also used a card without international transaction costs. Otherwise it was a case of just trying to find the most reasonable rate for currency conversion, and try not to exchange too much! Only between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, and between Albanian Lek and Euro was where I lost a noticeable amount.
Update to comment below - have just bought my train ticket to Penzance so the ride is on soon. Think I'd better get a bit fitter now :)
hello friend how are you
You guys deserve more Sub and Views!
This is seriously impressive, David. This obviously deserves way more views, but not to worry. Your day with the algorithm will come. You are such an inspiration, mate!
I know im asking the wrong place but does someone know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Zeke Ashton Instablaster ;)
@Charlie Deshawn I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Charlie Deshawn it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D Thank you so much, you really help me out !
@Zeke Ashton no problem :)
nice.....how did yous get back from John O'Goats?
Our dad actually came and picked us up, as one of us had to be at work the following morning!
@@davidhaywood__ KUDOS! sounds like it was epic.....im defo doing something like this in future. thanks for sharing
seriously......only 142 views and I am the first person to comment.......amazing vid and journey
He's not one of these greedy UA-camrs who just wants to make money for doing something they would do anyways ie he's not a free loader. Well done David, you are a rare decent guy. Love to join u on a trip sometime
brilliant vid, looked an epic trip.
Sounds great.. I've started maf training as my usual training I felt over trained.... Once u started running some efforts b4 races what kind was being done.. Short reps or longer.. Or tempo
How am I only the 10th person to like this! Woah inspiring dude - wanna do it again?
Appreciate it! For sure, need to take in some parts of South America and Asia
@@davidhaywood__ I’ll drop you a message on Instagram
How do you plan your training volume over your 24 week period?
I didn't use a specific formula, but just slowly built the mileage over base training, then dropped the mileage by about 20% from maximum when I started incorporating anaerobic speed work
@@davidhaywood__ thanks for your inputs. One point dr. Maffatone explains is that our brain adapts better to time in comparison to distance. But I wonder how much time or in your case volume is needed for an Iron event, say at your peak aerobic volume week ? ;) thanks again!!!!
i'm new here, i hope you don't mind giving me a free ride through this journey
Odd. The vid was just black the first time I played it. Reloaded it and was fine. Cheers.
Really enjoyed watching the video. Well done :)
Nice film and interesting to see 4 brothers together on this adventure. I have two brothers and a sister and I regret that I'm the only one interested in cycling :( I will do this ride next spring if all goes well and leave my lazy siblings behind :)
Thanks 👍 impressed with ur commitment ...months and years
Nice video mate 😎👍 Looking forward to all the next episodes 😊
Nice work David! Got a bit chilly in the middle there eh. Looking forward to the next episode.
i met David Haywood in vietnam
Great vid 👌🏼👌🏼 (also first comment)
Good video. Just started the Maffetone Method. How much did you use the high fat/low carb diet Phil Maffetone advocates - or did you just stick to your usual running diet?
I was generally lower carbohydrate, avoiding cereals and bread mainly. I would have some carbs after exercise but would probably be about 30% of my total calorie intake for the day. I had more carbs in the couple days before the race and on race day. Tend to train lower carb and race with a bit more carb
How are you doing speedwork when that will obviously take you above your 155 maf .
When my MAF pace started to plateau I would do a 3-4 weeks with a couple sessions a week above my MAF heart rate, up to about 90-95% of my max. I'd then go back to MAF
