Excellent video Lyam Christopher is truly the Man! It’s funny how I had purchased Regardie 6th Edition - black brick years ago - so it was two steps to a book shelf to get started . It’s dam hard to do all requirements , which is the point !

I’m curious if anyone did the Elemental Grades in parallel with Ayahuasca Ceremonies. Someone from the G:.D:. Order told me, as long as you keep doing „The Work”… you can do both.

I'm at the 🔥 grade and I always did outside magick.... But not that much. So far theoricus was the worse for me. I was a total scatterbrain. Now in Philosophus I became more lustful, as in sexually and towards life in general. Up until this grade I tried to be as pure and moral as I could be but with fire I just feel like doing whatever I want and stop feeling sorry about it.... Its a strange shift

Sorry to pull away from the main topic of the video, but I have a question I wanted to ask, since my one occult friend didn’t know. So I’m a beginner, and I was doing some meditation when I had the sudden mental image of a cloaked figure with a fox head and weird turquoise stuff (it looked like smoke or flashes of light) around it. It didn’t seem harmful or malicious, and it didn’t seem to have or want a name. I’m not quite sure what(who?) that was, and online research didn’t help. What kind of spirit could it be? Should I try to seek it out again? Any help with this would be hugely appreciated, thanks!

I'm Getting so many questions regarding "what does it mean by no outside magick?" That im just going to answer it here. This book assumes youre starting from square 0 and takes you up through to "Adeptus minor" in ceremonial magick. As such heres what I'd consider "outside magick" NEW magickal operations : If youre not already doing something then dont start any new stuff. If you have talismans or other stuff youre currently upkeeping then keeping those should be fine in my understanding. But just dont start anything *NEW* if you need to let spirits know your going to be doing this and might not be as active with them but you should be able to keep all land spirit relationships. ANGEL AND DEMON WORK STOPS COMPLETELY. Do not continue any operations of that nature At all. Same goes for elemental work other then what is described

Great review of a fantastic book. I checked the link to see when I bought this book, and it was December 11, 2006, exactly 18 years ago. Coincidence? lol I didn't do all of this curriculum because I had been doing Golden Dawnish work for almost 25 years when I bought this book. I also don't agree with the magic is all in your head concept, although much is, there ARE external spirits, bad, good and neutral. This is the book that I recommend to anyone looking for a good start in magic, it used to be Modern Magic, but I think this one is better. There really aren't a lot of books that have a complete curriculum. Most just kind of ramble around, but this book will get you there.

Okay, so my basic, spiritual hygiene practice consists of meditation, banishing, leaving offerings for local spirits, and recharging my home protection talisman (mine is a 5th pentacle of Saturn). I figure the first two would be fine to continue while working through this curriculum, but would the offerings and talisman maintenance breach the "no outside magic" rule? Also, I'm sure you're getting a ton of questions about that specific rule, and I'm sure the book itself clarifies most of them... so sorry about that xD but I do want to make sure I don't have to abandon my relationships with the spirits of the land, or leave my home unprotected if the book offers nothing to replace it.

It was very useful to hear about your experiences at each grade. Thanks for sharing! And as you probably know, this book isn't teaching traditional GD curriculum, as many GD practioners keep saying when it's mentioned. Having some experience with a more traditional order I can agree with them. Doesn't mean it's not useful by any means, just worth mentioning in my opinion.

Just wanted to thank you for doing this video. I have really enjoyed working with this book, but I get so much shit from other Golden Dawn types about it. Nice to see that someone else likes this curriculum and has found it useful.

What do you think is a better initiation, this book or the abramelin or what Dr Skinner wrote for self initiation? And which system of magick do you think is better overall? This or what the abramelin gives you or Goetic/salomonic? Or are they all similar? I’m ready to move on from the “internet research” /armchair magician phase and into the practitioner phase. Also what sort of IT job do you have? I’m finishing up school right now and hoping to land an IT job asap

When it is stated to not do any other magickal work, does this include tantric practices? I am also very very interested in Tibetan Buddhism/Vajrayana and have picked up several meditation practices from it. I understand that both systems should be compartementalized to some degree, since there are things that differ such as symbolic correspondances between eastern and western systems. But do you think one can follow this book and still perform tantric practices?

Jason miller talks about getting dirt from those who've passed that in life did something that might be able to help you. Ie a soldiers dirt for protection or attacking, a city council or mayora for dealing with local beuracracy etc

In the Orthodox church we also pray for the departed. We even hold feasts for our dead relatives and give alms in their name and on their behalf.

You can also call the souls in Purgatory as a group for assistance (like you would a saint) but you should have a track record of praying for them first.

Christianity is a death worship religion, and they don't see it.

I've always found it difficult to decide how I feel about necromancy. Part of me feels like it's wrong on every level, BECAUSE I feel like the dead WANT and DESERVE rest. To be left alone. This past samhain, I honored my ancestors with a temporary altar and some alchohol and incense. But I would never call on them and disturb their death. If anyone has a good counter argument then please share it. Necromancy has always been fascinating to me. But that moral delema is what stands on my way from calling on the dead.

In particular, he lays out where these locations are and how to use them. I have found his three-book series on Enochian magick really helpful.

Hi, I think I am very much aligned with your take, but I would be really interested what you think of Thelema and the New aeon. I consider myself more christian than a thelemite, but I would lie if I said that Thelema didn't absolutely stun me with its truths and deep revelations. I do believe in God and Christ deeply, but "Do what thou wilt" truly resonates with me as well
