Thanks! It’s a fun box and sounds great. The live looping function works well too. You might notice in this video that the volume drops a bit between recording and playback but I’ve since figured out how to prevent that.

@joshlucan3512 Do you feel inspired by the sound working on the s2400 as your main production piece? I am deciding between the Rossum sp-1200, Akai Mpc 3000 and this Isla S2400 … specifically I want the machine to be the midi centrepiece for synths in the studio. Thank you for your expert advice in advance brother 🙏🏽

Those are all sweet machines. I have an MPCX as well and love it dearly. The s2400 does sound really good and is definitely inspiring to use. I don’t know if it’s the input filters or the summing inside but it does all glue together in a satisfying way. It’s a little fiddly with the button combos you have to learn to get around it. You press shift+4 for live looping for example. There’s a lot of shift-b and shift-track and things like that. It can be hard to remember. I haven’t delved into the midi functionality yet. So far I’ve just been using it for chopping samples (for that sp1200 aliased sound) and live looping and I really like it.

That’s awesome. Yeah, it’s amazing how quickly you can get a huge sound from a pretty simple delay setup. Stereo behavior and noise go a long way!

Thanks so much! I actually have the DD on the sequenced bass part. Pretty indulgent for such a simple sound but I have it racked above the ISE-NIN and I needed another synth layer. I’ll showcase it more respectfully in future videos.

@@joshlucan3512 was the odyssey just sending a pulse? i'm planning to mod my odyssey fs btw, it's not that complex to get to the mod/audio ins and out because of the way those switches are implemented (i'll add an external box behind it that i can put the ttsh on too mork with both in combination), i think i might offer that mod for clients if anyone interstred, 2k6 and ody having the oscilators they have, and sync on ody and other few details, imo it makes send to make them work in combination. Having both those two superb poly synths, man you must have a lot of fun. I'de love to spend an afternoon at your place lol...

I had a sequence running out of the MPC via MIDI 5 pin DIN. MPC OUT -> Odyssey IN. That mod sounds cool. There are a few extras I wish it could do but I also wanted an original Odyssey for like 20+ years so I can’t complain!

@@joshlucan3512 yeah, and having those 3 types of filters is cool too. and i really like the recycled plastic idea for casing (allthough i normally hate plastic).
