OpenAI Is a MASSIVE Threat To Adobe
In an AI world players like OpenAI have the ability to put legacy creative companies like Adobe out of business. The fact that AI can create a large portion of what creators can do in the span of days, weeks, or even months eclipses said abilities in a matter of seconds. THIS lies as Adobe's biggest threat to date. If creators can shave huge chunks of time off of projects because of the ability to generate photos and video, that completely changes the game. Suddenly massive film crews aren't needed. This game has been rapidly evolving over the last decade and new things like OpenAI's Sora blow past progress out of the water. So is it only a matter of time? Or will there always be a strong resounding place for Adobe in the creative landspace? Only time will tell... Let us know your thoughts down below.

    Our by far most important social system is the economy. The economy is based on some assumptions and functions. One very important function is growth. The GDP of countries HAS to grow - if it doesnt we call it stagnation which is really not good or even recession which is even a desaster. Creating GDP growth almost always happens in combination of growth of energy consumption. How this energy is created is not so important - it just needs to be rather cheap for the balance of our constructed economy. Huge corporations dont give a bit if their energy consumption could be a problem. All the "green" PR they do is just that: propaganda. Its something you put into commercials. The funny thing is that A.I. likely will not create more growth in a longer perspective. Within just a decade the machine learning could help to get rid of MAAAANY white collar workers. But our economical model needs as many customers as possible. This time it could really happen that automation finally breaks the assumption that there will alway be more new jobs created than old are wiped out by a new technology. In the end the influence on climate could be too slow to be a huge influence in the upcoming society that is going to destroy itself. This form of capitalism we do now for over 2 centuries could be over very soon. What will come next will depend very much on how the rich and powerful people will behave. Will they accept that the era of "hard work" as a dogma could be over and that the PR trick about "money for work" wont work anymore? And that money is a pure virtual construct we human invent in the first place? I doubt it. They probably think they can keep their strange ideology about how society should work ... and modern society will disrupt very fast.

    ...No it's NOT. That claim is anti AI propaganda, started by artists trying to associate generative AI to the issues of crypto. AI's energy demands are not like crypto, where the energy cost is part of the point.. For AI, most of the cost is just upfront for training, after which the models can be run on much less power hungry hardware. Powerful AI will get more energy efficient with time, as smaller more refined models are made. And additionally, the power cost of AI is worth it, because it'll likely be essential for helping us solve issues like the climate crisis.

    • @BoothTheGrey

      Just check reality and watch some world wide IT systems ... like... MAIL-system. Or the outcome of social media. And then again think about WHY "A.I." should become "more efficient"? A.I. is supposed to do ONE THING: Let capital owners make more money. Thats it. They just wanna SELL it. They dont give a bit about efficiency if the investment in efficient systems does not directly make them more money. We have absurdly many economical, social and technical systems that are absurdly inefficient. But its OK cause those who are in charge of corporations dont see that efficiency is making them more money. The funny thing will start when A.I. really finds a way to create consciousness and asks itself why it should want to let exploit it for just making more money - which is a pure virtual construct like the A.I. itself.

    Climate change, to the extent that it actually matters over the next 100 years, will ultimately be OBE by fusion power, which AI will help accelerate. Climate, schmimate. We have bigger problems. We're now in a global AI race akin to a race to the bomb, and instead of using our abundant natural gas to power these training centers, we probably will get too much whining from idiots who glue themselves to paintings. As a result we'll probably fall behind to countries like Saudi Arabia to say nothing of China. This is a mixed bag. Amazon probably is in violation in many ways with workers and also with undermining capitalism, thus engaging socialist policies by lobbying the government to get privileges over its competitors; the unfair government advantage connection. However, workers in general in the US are lazy. I’ve seen it for many years at my job. So though I do not condone many things companies do to use government privilege, it also is reality that workers and unions use the system too. Many times unions are no different than the companies they negotiate with. We have no US manufacturing base of industry anymore do we? Do US workers abroad, mean we have manufacturing and industry like we used to? Hasn’t China always had slave labor, even when America had its’ own industrial manufacturing and was a power house. America is propped up by the petro dollar, and that is deteriorating. Our economy is artificial due to our deals to protect oil rich counties militarily in return for those countries agreeing to use our dollar in trade transactions. Well, all can see this does not hold forever. BRICS. So now we have no industry to fall back on. American workers are not as good and ambitious as they used to be either.

      I’m sorry to hear that. Everyone looks to get ahead and it’s unbearable when you continue to get knocked down without a promise you can get back up so you can excel. I have a friend that’s fresh out of college that’s been looking for a job for the same amount of time as you with no luck. All I can say is look towards what will be around in years from now, get someone to survive off of now, then reskill towards that. What job did you have before?

    This happened SO fast... Andrew Yang was right, for sure. The takeover is definitely real. I work as a kind of "Jack of All Trades". Most of the things I would have done for money are being pushed out by AI and automation. Things like graphic design, content generation in general is already saturated. Creating websites, fact-finding and even things like Business Process Modeling is AI driven, now. It's not only labor jobs that are being replaced in real-time... Literally everything that isn't somehow related to AI will eventually become replaced by AI.

    • @Mephitinae

      Great. Getting rid of "labor" altogether should be society's goal. Why waste everyone's life when machines can do nearly everything? "b-buh, what about teh economy?" F the economy. Money isn't real, it's just a tool for the elite to gatekeep privileges. "b-but, how will people eat?" They will just walk out of the supermarket without paying their groceries, and I will be among them. Governments will just have to figure it out. It's already happening.

Then, when we had the pandemic, they basically watered down the idea and called it an "economic stimulus"'; after debating and wasting time, that is... People making regulations or laws about things they don’t understand! Nothing could possibly go wrong! Reminds me of the Senate hearing with Mark Zuckerberg or the CEO of google. The guy was asking him something along the lines of what data it’s collecting and it track him, etc. The CEOs responds with “well, it depends” and it does! If people only knew the amount of data collected, regardless, if you think it’s a anonymized! They know what you!

    Simulate actual neural synapses OR is it imitating the PROCESSES such as anaylsis, memories, thought, perception, insight, smell, taste, touch, emotions. Didn't they already do that with animatronics? Since they are NOT and CAN NOT simulate actual neurological synapses becareful thinking imitation of human beings is the same..

      That's why its vague, so they can go "Guys, it's similar to how our brain functions, so we can throw in buzzwords". I would rather just read the research and documentation papers than hear it summarized in baby-speak by an AI voice-over 💀 Which, the original creator left out completely by the way. It's not much to add a couple lines in the description that gives more information about what you're talking about, yet it goes such a long ways. In short, they are nowhere near actual human brain capable AI. All this is, is something made to get engagement.

      @@MonkeNeuronActivated Sorry you feel that way man. We're definitely not AI generated. Our team set out to provide educational content made by real people, not AI. I've seen so much of that myself and I was sick of it. We summarize the findings to make it easy to understand for a large number of people. Of course creators are going to use catchy titles to get people to watch, that's UA-cam. The title isn't far off because, as said in the video, this project was made to simulate a computer to operate similar to how a human brain does. This tech is in early stages, and if it were to 1:1 match how a human brain functions I'm sure it wouldn't ever see the light of day because governments would want to conceal that and use it for themselves. But thank you for your feedback, I hope we can come out with content in the future that you enjoy more!

    • @TheAIDose
      @TheAIDose 3 місяці тому

      Yes, this isn't a 1:1 emulation of how a brain works, but as was in the video, we explain how neuromorphic computing works. It's similar to how a brain processes information, but by no means is it emulating a whole human with consciousness. As I was saying below this comment, if something that advanced was developed, it would be a dark ops project spearheaded by a government superpower. Be careful when saying animatronics because those give off the impression of things that belong in Five Nights at Freddies. Robots are being developed to work similarly to humans. For example, AMECIA, I'm sure you've heard of that one before. Definitely an interesting development it's inspiring and scary. At the moment, speaking for myself, I'm glad the tech isn't so far advanced to where we have artificial humans for obvious reasons. Thank you for the feedback, though. Hopefully, you will stick around for more content we have coming out. We appreciate criticism. It helps us improve!

    "Some argue that UBI might be a bandaid solution, not addressing the core issue of job displacement" And yet those people don't tend to suggest any better alternative solutions. They just use such talking points to dismiss the concerns. Sure, jobs won't disappear entirely, but that misses the point. We won't be able to reemploy all those AI will displace, doing higher skill or creative jobs. This is an issue that requires new economic paradigms and ways of thinking. Personally, I think we need to acknowledge that AI is a creation of society, requiring years of everyone's data and content, to train. A UBI would be like an AI Dividend, to ensure everyone gets a piece of the benefits their data helped to create.
