Fantastic video .Strauss himself would love it.
Thanks!!! I'm glad you like it!!
Amazingly, there are dozens and dozens of books on the harmonica but I don't think there is one book devoted to this style of playing...or is there?
Thanks a lot for listening. As far as I know there are no books on this very old style of playing. I have some tutorials on YT to help folks learn it.
@@1seesaw2 No, thank you for these tremendous videos.
Great stuff, loved it
Thanks a lot for listening.
Love it! Keep jammin!
Thanks for listening Karl.
Just got to thank you for all the tunes you play here. I picked up the old-time style from watching your videos over the years and now I learn most of the tunes you post. Thanks for this great performance and for adding another to my repertoire!
Thanks Mark. I am so happy to hear that you have learned the vanishing old time style of playing the harmonica. If I can be of any further help to you, just let me know.
Another great toe-tapper. Thanks!
Thanks a lot for listening Catherine!!!
Really enjoyed this one! Hard to believe it was 45 years ago when you taught me a C chord. ha!
Yeah, and don't forget the F chord that you said you would never be able to do!!!!
Love this so much! I’m learning to play the harmonica because my dad played for me when I was a child.❤
Thanks a lot for listening Heidi!! I have some tutorials on YT that might help you along.
Doing video "shorts" now. Big thumbs up.
It was an accident!!! I didn't know I was doing a short. Ended up causing me much confusion!!!!
Excellent playing as always sir! I'm still having the worst time trying to learn how to tongue block, but working on it!
Thanks for listening. It takes practice to learn this old time style. I have some tutorials here on YT.
Keep it up sounds good.
Thanks!! I appreciate you listening.

Thanks a lot for listening and commenting Kevin!!
Great performance! I was wondering if you could kindly try to play the Song called "the new York volunteer". I've already tried It few times, however it's pretty hard on harmonica 😅. If you can't, well, nevermind. Keep It up man!!
Here ya go. ua-cam.com/users/shorts_Ag_w3LpLYY

Nice playing Sarge. I wanted to thank you for inspiring and teaching me to play old time harmonica. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for listening Rick and I am very glad to hear that I have helped you learn a vanishing style of playing the harmonica.
My favorite one of your harmonica solos is the Daisy bell one 🙂
Thank you!! I appreciate you listening and truly appreciate your support!!!
My wife and I both like this song, Sarge, and you play it well. BTW, do you still use Sarge's Pump House Formula for zeroing a .22?
Thanks Cliff. I'm glad that you and your wife like this. Yes!!!! I still use that pump house formula for zeroing a .22
not too shabby!
You're being nice!! I can barely do anything on a guitar anymore, but I thank you for listening!!
What a tune🍻🍻👍
Thanks for listening George! I really appreciate your support!
Great what else do you play👍👍🍻
Well George, I can scratch out what may sound like a tune on a fiddle. I have a banjo that sits in the corner. As you see here I fool with the guitar. I don't really play any of them. I do appreciate you listening!!!
Sounds like army of the free in there too
Yes it does!! Thanks a lot for listening!!
No matter how sad you are this man will always bring delight to you 😁
Thank you for such a nice compliment!!! I really appreciate you listening.
Nice! Very well done, keep on playing…
You are very kind to say that! Thanks for listening.
I’m kind of new to american old time and have been searching the tube a lot Lots of great things to listening to out there I found You here and then on bandcamp, got hooked on your version of ”Reubens train” there and bought a couple of your records. Very inspiring and I try to do my best to follow you with my harmonica, thanks for your charing of tunes and your playing.
@@hanslandar7382 Thank you!! I truly appreciate your support!!
triple threat, harp, jaw harp and now guitar!
Thanks for listening Darren. I have a lot of practicing to do in order to get back in shape on a guitar. I've ignored it for a long time.
Beautiful. How do you store your harmonicas?
Thanks a lot Scott!! I really appreciate your support. All my harmonicas are stored in a case of several at a time or a single case, except for the two I have laying in the kitchen to grab while I'm cooking.
Sounded good, well done.
Oh, you are too kind!!! Thanks for listening.
Play that thing man! I had no idea!
Oh, that was rough Pat!!! Thanks a lot for listening!!!
Yeah Sarge! You da man!!!🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵😎👍
Thanks Pat!! I truly appreciate your support!!!
Awesome! I just found your channel. I really enjoy it. Helpful tips
Thanks Steve! I hope my videos help you.
very nice thank you
Thanks Darren! I truly appreciate your support!!!
Is it a chromatic or a diatonic?
It's a 10 hole diatonic. Thanks a lot for listening.
The American side? The British abd Commonwealth troops who entered the war earlier than America had the first English version. They heard the German version on German military radio and came up with their own English language version.
You are absolutely correct! Thanks a lot for listening and commenting.
