Can I pair with a Victron Shunt ?
probably not, but I never tried.
What’s your favourite color:him-blue😂😂😂
thanks for the great video, now can you tell me , how do i connect my BT-2 to a battery that doesn't has a port RJ45 ? thanks
you can use Bluetooth. The device also supports bluetooth connections. Press add device it should scan BT devices AND wired devices.
Really enjoyed your video. Just bought one of these and wanted to fully discharge it to 10v to do a capacity test. Many people have told me not to as they say it can damage the battery. After seeing you do it I feel like it shouldn't hurt to do it once. Will it hurt the battery? Would appreciate your response you seem pretty knowledgeable on this subject.
thanks for your comments. That is correct, it will reduce longevity of the battery if you bring it down to the 10V mark, but only if it is done repeatedly. If you do it just once or twice just to do a capacity test, the damage will be negligible. Also, the BMS will likely prevent if from going to 10V because what may end up happening is that one of your cells will reach 2.5V before the 3 others do. Try it once to get the full battery capacity and then just use it. Charge it up immediately after it reaches this depleted state to further limit the damage.
Awesome info , thanks ! do you know if the leveling mode shows up on the phone app? that would make parking the RV pretty handy.
yes, it does now :)
I like your inbetween music, where did you get it
I honestly don't remember but I got it from some royalty free music website there's tons of music on it.
Does it have a speaker ? What use is it if a tiny word changes color.
I don't think it has a speaker very good question. You can probably make an automation for some sort of siren if some parameter goes out of whack you can use the relay to turn on the siren or other speaker
Anyone know if other batteries with a RS485 connection will show up in the Renogy ONE Core? I'd really like to use the EG4's 400Ah batteries that have RS485 built in which would eliminate the need for a battery monitor
This is a great question. The thing to take notice that rs-485 is a communication protocol that transmits data between devices. You will still need to be able to decode this data. Having said that I doubt it's going to work and if it does work you may not get a hundred percent functioning features. However it's worth a shot because there could be some standardization between vendors
No but I’ve heard the May make a shunt. That would enable anybattery to be used
You're absolutely right. They already announced it and it looks like it does work with the one core
Can the imbeded Rover load relay be controlled by this remotely?
That's a great question. I did not see that option. Wonder if it can be added via future firmware/software update?
@@antoniodecrisci2369 Would be perfect for firing up my 12 volt refrigerator, remotely, a few hours before I head to my RV
Has alot of features that I will never need. All I require is wifi access so I can remotely use the Renogy app. Don't see me purchasing this
you can now enable Local AP mode. This will allow you to connect to it (within range) using your phone. No internet required to connect to it, now.
Can you make multiple bluetooth connections using the hub? I can seem to only connect to one device using the hub via Bluetooth. For example DC-DC charger via Bluetooth and the other connection would have to be via Ethernet. I’m trying to connect both devices using the hub and one BT-2 adapter which is connected to the hub.
Yes, at one point I was getting 2 of my devices communicating via BT (in the video you can also see that). Maybe try disconnecting/connecting the BT1/2 dongle and leaving the hub in search mode until it times out.
Can you hookup to other brand inverters besides renogy?
I don't think you can connect other inverters. Renogy products communicate via modbus, it is possible that if the inverter uses modbus, it could work.
Hi, might purchase for these this week. Hope they are holding up.
Rely is for your heater or thumastat
Those are good uses for the relay.
Still can't get an answer if this thing has a shunt built into it..
It does not have a shunt built in. It relies on whatever the battery is reporting.
@@antoniodecrisci2369 Thank you.. As they don't even show the New Smart Shunt 3000 for sale yet.. Which you need to make this thing useful...Outside buying smart devices to it like the ones you have..
No shunt built in but if you are running it with a Renogy LiFePo4 with bluetooth you don't need a shunt. The app will show you all the info you want. It shows voltage, amps in, amps out, time till fully charged, time till fully discharged as well as the individual cell voltages among other things.
@@ii1825 Well the New Smart Shunt 300 will have that feature builtin.. If they ever release it. As they show it in their One Core video.. But it' snot for sale yet..
@@WizzRacingthe smart shunt is what I am waiting for
Can you turn the inverter on and off on the One Core? Or only view it's metrics?
At the moment, only view its metrics. According to Renogy you can turn the inverter on and off using the relay, but I would need to figure out the wires (I have not yet) of the ethernet com cable. For the moment, I used a SwitchBot Bot to control the hard switch and it is working well. I posted here in the DC Home Community chat: pc.renogy-dchome.com/detail/39649 Or you can search for "Turning Inverter on/off remotely" in the Community. Hope that helps.
