This poor guy should be rich, but he's living modestly and constantly dealing with health issues. We're lucky to have his music. Vini is one of the best guitarists I have ever heard. Been a fan for decades. Such beautiful music.
He's not just one of the best guitarists, but one of the best musicians ever. His music goes so far beyond the guitar but contains such a mastery of it.
I was just thinking this the other day. I think if he was from practically anywhere else in the country except London. Then he'd be celebrated a lot more. Unfortunately for him, his most prolific period coincided with when Manchester was filled with bands and musicians that had worldwide fame and importance. If he was from a small town somewhere, he would be one of the most celebrated people from there. Just seeing those orange and brown buses brings a tear to my eye when the soundtrack is Otis. I really wish I could write to Vini and let him know just how much he's cherished.
