It turned out so smooth looking! I get frustrated when i try to add colored pencils over my watercolor, but maybe i need to try something other than cold pressed paper?

I am wondering if any of the color pencil solvents used for blending purposes, like alcohol and or paraffin oil, can be used after pencils have been drawn on top of the gouache (mixed media) how would the gouache react when trying to manipulate color pencils on top with said solvents?! o.0..

how do you blend the coloured pencils with?

Could you possibly help figure out how to color a face that's in a coloring book? I'm teaching myself to become better at coloring (so I'm good at something 😂), and I cannot figure out more than a basic face (even that comes out as a learning experience).. so I guess the question is, could you teach us a normal face, with the correct highs and lows, as well as drawing a makeup look to it?

Loved to watch how you developed the color. Your blending is spectacular. Also, I don't know why so many people are concerned with achieving "photorealism". I find artistic interpretation far more interesting and inspiring. We have enough realism in everyday life so mostly my eyes take it in and move on, whereas when an artist takes a lesser "realist" approach and instead tries to convey what their personal thoughts and feelings are about whatever subject, my eyes linger, return, linger some more, and my brain starts making associations and connections, seeking to find what the artist was trying to show. Sure, realism gets that quick "wow" factor, but mostly it just gets taken in and then passed by.

Beautiful portrait. I’ve been creating amateur portraits, using various mediums, for the past 7 years. A friend commissioned me to create a montage portrait for a coworker who is retiring.
