Amp has the distortion channel on. Pedal settings: MU = 4.5, Peak = 4.5, band pass, envelope drive = up, filter range = low I had the MU/Pre switch set to MU.
I like the middle part
try 98 Gorge
I, for some reason, love this - even without the Jerry solo dropping in over the top, even though I’m not using it to jam on, and even knowing it’s on loop. Almost in the same way I love hearing the Price is Right game tunes. Or something. From a time I never lived in but wish to God I did. That is all.
60K of these views are from me.
Nice
ralph's loops are the best.
starts out great...but, lets face it, its a bit redundant
@@patrickdetuncq9690 its called sarcasm, you literal tw@t
Love this! So fun to jam on. Thanks so much!
nice.
anyone know the actual show? sounds like 73 at roscoe (debut) but i cant be for sure.
Yea it's that one. I remember listening to it on archive and being like oh this is where that backing track comes from.
Just want to say a serious thank you for this. I have probably played this 10 plus times, just noodling on the scales trying to get a feel for it, and it has been SOOOO helpful. Can you make an 8 hour loop next? :D
I am actually listening for more than an hour now, haha. Good stuff.
This is just... oh my... tooo good. Thank you.
Sweet
everytime i hear this, my hair emmediately begins to blow back
Okay, I have been playing with Dead backing tracks for almost a year. I just discovered you, and this, right here...this Eyes is the best version of Eyes I have heard to date! Amazing job. It sounds almost exactly like Englishtown, which is my favorite version of that song The Dead ever played. I am subscribing to you and will check your other tracks. I REALLY hope that you have the other parts of the song, like the two solos, one going just to the Bm and the other also to the A. If not, I really hope you consider creating them. Because f**king WOW this Eyes jam is awesome. Take it from me. I have been playing the Jerry parts in Dead cover bands for over 20 years, and this is some insanely high quality you made in this track right here. I hope you have more!
One more thing. So you know I know what I am talking about when I complement, here is a video I made using a Petti backing track of Scarlet. I would LOVE to make some for your videos, too! ua-cam.com/video/rfx40PwE1uE/v-deo.html
Englishtown is such a great version. Either that or the American Music Hall ‘75 version stands as the best IMO
I gotta chime in on 9-3-77 as the best ever version of "Eyes".
What key scale best goes with this?
e flat lydia, f mixo kinda
@@PhishyBongwaters Thanks.
Anyone know which key or scale best fits with this?
Looks like C minor pentatonic mainly - maybe C Aeolian to some extent
Maybe Dorian?
Definitely C Dorian! Feel free to add blues notes as well.
Anyone know what key this is in? chord progression? scales? work to improvise around this. Thanks.
I couldn't tell you the key but the scale you use to improvise over the intro is just the e major scale. For the first solo break you alternate between the e maj scale and the a maj scale depending on what chord is being played
Key is Emaj7 and the chords are Emaj7 - A - Emaj7. Basically E maj scale as commented above, but emphasis on the Eflat will get you where you're looking to go
StichMethod does a great break down ua-cam.com/video/K3MSVAOsJXc/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/P3iSCR1d_pA/v-deo.html
It’s Emaj7-E6-Emaj7
I think this is just a Emaj7 to Amin bar
Out of tune recording
Excellent quality! But it is ever so slightly out of tune with standard guitar tuning. I think the recording is a smidge sharp. But other than that, awesome work!
Slightly out of tune??? Then it’s perfect for the dead!
I will now go listen to a sick Reba. Thanks 🙏
great loop but wish it had the g#m transition
love those long versions of Eyes
hahaha, this is from 2/9/73
2/26/77?
Thanks for making this!
Picture fits well
thanks jeff...was suing g mix
That probably sounded pretty good since G Mixo is the 5th mode of Cmaj and D Dorian the 2nd so you are using the right notes. But the thing is, if you play a G or a C note against this track it will sound wrong. Play a D and it sounds like home, which means that D is the "tonal center" and your solos will sound better resolving to D. While Cmaj/Ionian, D Dorian, G Mixo are all the same notes, it is a matter of orientation to the tonal center of the song, i.e."home base". Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right! :)
Puggg
Englishtown NJ 1977 if I’m not mistaken.
I was there and can confirm - a truly special transcendent Eyes!
this is actually swing auditorium 2/26/77
