moonies dive bar porch build finale
Переглядів 47Місяць тому
I decided to power wash a 45 year old porch on my mobile home and find out there is some nice looking wood under there.. That ends up becoming a 5 week rehab to include shoring up the underpinnings, going skyward with a frame to add roller blinds and a sun sail and eventually (this video) adding a permanent pergola style roof. It was an unexpected project but a wonderful surprise.Enjoy!
SS City of Milwaukee Boatel and Ferry
Переглядів 161Місяць тому
Over Memorial Day Weekend. A few friends and myself did a motorcycle tour around Lake Michigan. Our first stop was an overnight stop in Manistee Mi on our way to the Harley Davison museum via the Lafe Express ferry. The SS Milwaukee is a 1930's rail car ferry that has been turned into a Hotel and museum.. this is my walkthrough and chat... I hope you enjoy it.
2 wheels of Suches to McCaysville music video

I had some leftover video from my trip to GA last month and wanted to put together a video of my ride from 2 Wheels to Mackaysville. Its a 30 mile ride that is slightly technical and not well known...It ends up at the Ocoee river that seperates Tenn from Georgia with a nice restaurant on the river front.

I now have my wifi auto connect switched to manual only (ie auto connect off) - the bike doesn’t need the wifi connection with an android as it (oddly) connects via BT.
The BMW Connected app is a piece of junk. I can talk on the phone, sometimes and listen to Media, sometimes. One thing I can’t accomplish is connect and use Navigation. I can’t however, run and use Waze, without the map, but with turn-by-turn directions through my Sena helmet headset, sometimes.
How did you wire it to the Bike?
Directly from the battery? I only used the power
The City of Midland was considered the queen of the Great Lakes during her time. Took a trip on her on one of her last years of service
That is not the Mississippi River, it is the Ohio River between Illinois & Kentucky! Your ass was really lost.
Try a smoked old fashioned & let the smoke imbue for 1-2 minutes.
Done. Rubber seals seal the gap, no leaks. So sick of using ugly straps that get lost.
great! Glad I was able to provide a nicer solution. I like it myself. LOL
Love your ideas! Any chance you can start posting links to the gear you install? Thanks!
So this one doesn't sail anymore It just sits I have been on the SS Badger on Lake Michigan
Yes. It's a museum. It's a rail car ferry as i mentioned in the video. The badger is almost as old.
Cool! Never knew about that. Added to my list
coo, my work here is done! LOL
Very nice! s
Now you need a few drain holes at the bottom of the case to let the water out lol. To be honest, I don't know why you'd drill holes in your motorcycle luggage.
so I dont have to use the unatractive straps to hold them on... Ifyou dont have an old airhead you might not know they tend to fall off.
@@KimMoonbmwmoonie Personally, I'd have kept using the strap and avoided making holes in the cases. It rains all the time over here and the last thing I'd want is wet luggage.
@@deepsmac7784 i guess you missed the part where I used rubber gaskets.....
Jeez be real if you've toured with Krausers you know straps are necessary. This fixes it internally.
@@louisrauzi3872 So you guys know better than the hundreds of thousands of people who tour with these cases without drilling holes in them? I have the updated cases from Hepco. Guess what? They didn't feel the need to make holes in these either. You are introducing a weak point to the structure and letting water in that will soak your stuff, but whatever, this is UA-cam, so it must be right.
Its an awesome system... when it works. I ultimately just bolted up a Zumo xt to a ram mount. Problem solved LOL
Do you have an app for the headset? If so, when you connect to tft screen you may have conflict between the BMW app and the headset app... just a thought.
Thanks greatly appreciated.
Perfect excellent wonderful I connected the piece that was not connected like I said now can you post the video in Reverse please LMFAO once again thank you I'm about to do the plug-in test once I put on the other side but I found a piece that doesn't look like it fits on this side and the other side i.. just finished screwing in
15:13 this is the piece that was never connected to begin with I thank you wholeheartedly for your video sir
I loaded music into the micro SD card. and I inserted the card into the navigator. But it cannot find the music in the internal card. do you have any information?
Well I would probably need more information coming from you than that because I showed you how to do everything in the video from start to finish.
Make sure that you have Mp3 as an option. If not then maybe reformat your sd card and reload your music.
@@KimMoonbmwmoonie I formatted the memory card as FAT32. 64gb cards are not formatted as fat32. That's why I used a 32 GB card. A sufficient capacity to listen to music. problem solved. 👍
@@ersin79 That's a great observation. The size of the card was too large so you had to format it as NTFS and that definitely would have caused the problem. Nice catch!
Nice ride and backstory. I have yet to ride this - I bet it’s fun on an RT.
It's very good, i got a few 41 degree leans. 😊
(Paused here: 9:54 to comment) About an hour ago I remembered that I was given a gear 360 by an old boss of mine and I want to use it for the upcoming 2024 April 8th solar eclipse for the environment shot. It’s been in storage for over two years. I plugged it in and nothing. I left it plugged in with the cable I bought for it since the original is far too short for my requirements. It’s been an hour of searching for a solution to fix the issue and while watching this video the charge light has lit. Score! Yet I do feel that an upgraded battery is a good idea so I’ll keep watching to see how far you get. No. My old boss didn’t give me the ring dongle you used to unscrew the lens collars but I am sure I can come up with a tool that will work just as well since I absolutely refuse to damage anything. I enjoy the “brand-new” appearance of anything I own. Like the original Nintendo game console I was given on my seventh birthday (Still looks fresh out the box). I love how you show that the ring dongle has a purpose that all those who destroyed their cameras never thought of. I can only imagine their reaction over seeing how you removed the lens collars, probably priceless)
I was unsuccessful in finding a replacement battery. But I hope you have better luck.
As someone who today is just about to charge it for the first time, basically only use it when you really intend on using it for specifically and only 360° pictures and or photos or really really wide panoramas otherwise just use your regular phone because this battery is irreplaceable? Gotcha!
I have found that the TPMS sensor in the wheel is the heavy spot, and I always need the weights across from the valve stem. Now I just leave the weights on the rim from the previous tire and then check the balance after mounting the new tire. In most instances I just need to move a 1/4 ounce weight around to fix any balance issue with the new tire. This method saves me the work of removing all the weights just to put them back on in the exact same place opposite the valve stem/TPMS sensor!
So then there’s no comm with other riders, right?
if Iunderstand your question, you dont use the TFT to communicate with others. thats why you haved headsets..
No my question was does the comm still work
@@jeromestocks344 of course.... It even allows the 2nd rider to have thier helmet connected for music. So you can listen to music, chat with your riding buddiies and still here gps announcements. I dont understand why you would think iit wouldndt....
OK so Since there is no battery to buy to replace, you will have to carefully remove the charging circuit board from the original battery, its at the top of the battery . if you carefully peal back the foil you will se that the battery is attached to two leads that are attached to the board. Check polarity with a multimeter first then cut the two metal leads and solder two wires to the pads. I drilled a hole in the side through the aluminum housing and plastic and ran the wires through, i then attached to an 18650. you will have to connect and disconnect the negative lead till the camera recognizes the battery the solder the connection once the unit is turned on , I hope this helps, i finished the project in a day, now i can replace battery without ever opening the housing again. be mindful if you damage the board it will not work. I can even charge the 18650 battery through the original usb C port now. best regards, I hope this helps.
Can you do an hour-long video in which you replicate this process as if I were a kindergartener who knows nothing about soldering polarity multimeters or any of that shit what have all the equipment to do so. I mean I did just buy it so who knows what level the battery is at, but once it starts to go to crap I will reference a video I hope you make because that looks like a completely foreign language to me LOL. Top cheers for knowing how to do it though
Amazing video!!!
I live in China and I bought one for 4 dollars and it’s great. It’s actually better than the 2 you have there. Things are cheaper here.
Do you have to remove the top case and luggage rack in order to access the plugs that you connect to HEX EZ Can?
yes. its not difficult. The ECM is right there and you can move the hex under it.
Nice of you to share.
thanks., it was a fun project. i hope it helps take the mystery out of it.
Great idea. I use the strap method but this is more permanent.
Nicely done! I’ll be doing this!
Hi, Where did you mange to get the replacement battery from?
So. the gps will send the audio though the bike speaker..? or that is not an option? thanks
What about paper? It seems to be the ultimate cause the pores are even smaller than ANY metal screen.
I've never used paper so I really don't have any basis to comment.. but I would think it would probably be more restrictive when under pressure than the puck screen. Remember the puck screen goes on top of the grounds, not under them
@KimMoonbmwmoonie yes, ci realize that. Many YT vids say paper on top is the way
@@cliffcox7643 okay... Then do that
I dont have a espresso machine and since you're testing maybe you can.. @@KimMoonbmwmoonie
@@cliffcox7643 I'll put something together. Any recommendations?
Where can i buy the battery
i have no idea.. I did all that work and then i couldnt find a replacement....
Consistency is overrated. Variation makes life more interesting and the poorly executed shots just make you appreciate the good ones even more.
Really liked your video. one question: you wired the angel eye white hot wire to the aux and the amber hot wire to the turn signal. but wow did you wire the ground (-) from the angel eyes?
actually, i wired the angel eyes white to the fog lamps connections on the Hex and the amber hot to the tunr signal output of the hex. I wired the ground of the angel eyes to the ground of the hex.
I recently bought a used r 1250 rt in excellent shape. The screen and system is one of the attractive, and connectivity and software sucks. The BMW motorrad app is far from good as a gps device. it needs to download maps to the phone and if you pretend to keep it in the case charging, it will drain the phone and will have to take it in and out every time, even limiting many phone functions. I tried more combinations than ever in my obsessive mind, even getting an extra phone exclusive for the bike. It sucks. Far from being a trustable and reliable car play. Now there are cheap Chinese motorcycle car plays and they do a nice job, except for sending a decent music quality to the cardo helmet speakers. I quit. I placed a safe cradle to keep my phone handy, charged and visible, and will use the incredible TFT screen to watch the most common functions as speedometer, revs and temperature etc as a 1990 old car instrument. What a waste of technology and incompetence to build the last and easier part of the job, the connecting interface, to explode all the possibilities of modern functionality in a very expensive bike.
I actually redid this video after the upgrades and now it works flawlessly. check out my channel
I've got one from China for $3, works great too.
Thank you, Kim! But you are not protecting the brake disks at all....
Wasnt an issue. But, sure, good idea.
In settings I have no Alarm heading. I'm guessing that means there's no alarm fitted on my bike?
Omg!! Thank you for YOUR help!!
your welcome. I just hope you can find a battery.
I hade that same problem with my 2023 with my 2023 GS 850. Took it to the dealership and they said it was a firmware update… lol
It’s 2023 now; I just bought an identical bike here in Oklahoma, a 2015 with 1600 miles. I love the mellow sound of the exhaust and everything about the bike except for the clunky gearbox - but everything in life is a compromise. The bag liners came standard with the Exclusive model. 😎
Nice instruction video👍 if you use our wheel chock Steadystand Multifixed it would even be better😉
well, i use the Condors because i can remove them from the E-track for different types and lengths of bikes. 😁
Would you consider listing the parts, please. Like, what size rivnut you used and the knob. Links to them is also helpful. Thanks and well done - I like the solution you came up with!
It's all listed in the video... 3:40
I've never seen a steamed americano, amazing!
Its not steamed..LOL thats also my hot water outlet !
Thanks for this nice tutorial. It’s more aesthetically pleasing than supplemental cargo straps, I guess, but the quick-release functionality of the bags is done. Bag liners do sort of substitute for bag removability, but replacing worn latches and loose rivets, keeping the latches locked while moving, and minimizing the tendency to overload the bags, is my preferred solution to unplanned baggage departures.
my locks work fine so that wasnt the intent. it was strictly aesthetic. But its also a good remedy should your rear locking mechanism fail. once insstalled, the rear lock is superflous. :)
and as an after thought, it doesnt take but a few moments more to remove the bags. :)
Consider using the Dremel tool used for making the channel to pierce the back plate. It would form a slot instead of a hole that the electrical connector can fit through. Less material removed. A little black silicone in the slot at the back and the bottom would make it weather proof also.

@@KimMoonbmwmoonie Amen brother! Ride safe!
The rider had some road rash as he was wearing tennis shoes, jean shorts and a long sleeve t-shirt. Her Two Wheels has a video interacting with him while she attempts to render first aid.
Nothing wrong with riding through and past a rider down, avoiding them and the bike is by far the most important thing, then getting out of the way so that you are NOT an obstacle for the next rider. If a rider is upright on the track the next rider will see him first and maneuver to avoid him while unknowingly de-prioritizing the rider down. Then with no time to react he is headed right for the rider down. Until the train of riders has had enough up track warning to be slowed down well in advance of the accident site the best thing any rider can do is to ride through the site on track and avoid the rider and secondly avoid the bike.
That's exactly what I thought. Wasn't anything I could do, and I didn't want to become another obstacle ..
