    Hello, greetings from Spain. I really love your videos, but they would be even more wonderful if you brought a bag with you to remove at least some of the trash that the unscrupulous visitors to the lake leave behind. It's incredible how much filth accumulates at the bottom. Thanks for sharing it!!

      Hi there! Thanks for the feedback. My friend and I often do trash pickup trips where we just focus on getting the trash out but I usually don’t film those. I agree there’s so much trash down there! Thank you for watching from Spain ! 🇪🇸 I’ve only ever been once (Barcelona) it was absolutely beautiful.

    Watching someone leave all of that trash in the water is disturbing. The UA-camrs that do river treasure hunting, that actually clean up the trash in the waterways are often honored by the cities where they do it. And rightfully so, because they are doing a service for others and for the planet, instead of Only selfish gains. The ones where they find phones and are able to identify the owners and return it, and show their excitement and grateful reactions, are great too. I felt so uncomfortable after 6 min and 34 sec of seeing all of the trash being left in the lake in this video, I couldn't stand to watch any more of it. Hopefully you can watch some of the other UA-camrs' river treasure hunting videos and be inspired by them to do more to make a difference by helping to clean up and improve your part of the planet, especially our fragile water resources.

      Thanks for the feedback, I don’t post videos of the items returned, or the trash retrieval I do. This channel is just for fun. I’m not a fan of doing good things and then posting about it. It’s ok if you disagree. I appreciate you watching and totally agree the trash is overwhelming.

    • @tonyb3426
      @tonyb3426 Місяць тому

      @belowthesurfaceAZ You said that you Don't film and post yourself doing good deeds. But, my point was that you Did film and post yourself doing a bad deed by going right past the trash and leaving it there. If you are already there picking up trinkets/treasures, grab the trash that is right next to it also. Doing so, encourages others to clean up the waterways too. Especially if you specifically say in your videos that we all need to do our part to help keep our waterways and our planet from becoming so polluted that they become unusable or uninhabitable. Most people don't have the means or abilities to be able to clean an entire lake or river. But, almost everyone has the ability to pick up the trash that is right in front of them, in the spot of the river or lake where they are. If nobody does that, those locations eventually become unusable and ugly, and even worse when the trash ends up polluting and making our drinking water sources unsafe to drink. Also, one thing that I have noticed over the years is that even in my neighborhood, the more trash that is left on the street, the more people that are driving through seeing that trash are inclined to throw their trash out also. When someone picks up the trash quickly and keep it looking clean, the trash gets thrown out much less often. It doesn't completely stop all fools from throwing out trash on the street, but it does Significantly reduce it. Maybe it's just a psychological thing of people seeing sloppy, dirty, nobody cares, kind of environment, makes people feel like, if nobody else cares about this location, why should I? And, maybe seeing it is very clean and well maintained, puts a little added pressure on some people to not be the only one making it trashy. Putting in the extra effort to do what is right and good definitely won't influence everyone, but it can make a difference. Even if it just makes a place where we like to go, a little more pleasant and safer the next time we go there, it should still be worth it. Filming leaving trash, might have the same effect as videos showing people running from the police and getting away, inspires or emboldens more people to try to run from the police. If you aren't wanting to pick up any trash, you might want to consider not showing filming the trash and picking up trinkets that are literally right next to the trash, so that others aren't inspired to leave the trash by seeing you doing it. Anyway... I hope you have a great day. And, I hope the more you choose to do the right thing, the more your audience will multiply and become subscribers.

      Thanks for the question, I’ve changed my setup gradually over time with the goal of making setup and teardown as easy as possible. My paddleboard is the 10’ 6” ROC inflatable which I bought on Amazon. I have my cooler attached to the front and my dive flag attached to the back. I have between a 5 and 10 min trip from my launch point so I use a double sided kayak style paddle. Let me know if I missed anything you’re interested in. 👍
