Kart races from August 24th thru the 25th at the Briggs and Stratton Motorplex at Road America.
Raced in my first regional event this weekend. Overall it was amazing. Lots of track time and very well ran event. On track the weekend started off great. Sorted out the kart on Friday, and found a lot of pace on Saturday on the new tires. This weekend was also my first time on MG Reds and they were a ton of fun. Taking P6 in the first heat was awesome, definitely my best ever race from multiple perspectives. It felt great to finish so well in a field as strong as this field was. Repeating that result in heat 2 had me quite happy and excited to see what I could make of the feature race. Sadly I didn't make it out of turn one in the feature. Not 100% sure what happened but likely a mix of unsettling the kart on the curb while getting pushed from behind caused me to spin. Getting hit after that was the final nail in the coffin as the kart was undriveable. Sadly that meant I finished last, with a push-back bumper penalty (lol) to make sure that was the case. I was quite angry and sad to have the weekend end up like that after performing better than I ever had in the run up to the feature. Looking forward even more now to going to the next round at Badger Kart Club in a month.
