I think it is illegal to stay overnight outside of proper camping sites if you are in a campervan or motorhome. You just won't have the required facilities.

Great video guys. Thanks for the tips on traffic lights. Fellow Auusie here. Boy you were scooting. Loved the respect you should to our diggers in Gallipoli. What must jave been going through thr head's. We did Istabul and Capadoccia 18 months ago, as part of our 3 month European trip, but we flew. Absolutely loved Capadoccia. I cant get enough of Europe. Spent two months earlier this year dragging snowboards all over the place lol Exhausting. We had no interest in doing the balloons, but the sight of watching them from our roof top was amazing. We stayed in a Cave Hotel and it was just amazing. Did a few tours. But loved our Quad Bike tour. The dirt and moutains remind me of one of the old Western Movies. We have just booked to go back to Greece and Turkey next July. Love both places. We are spending 2 weeks doing a road trip down the Turkish Riveria from Bodrum to Antalya. You really missed so much there is to see on the way to Antalya. The more i research the more i wish we had more time. Safe travels to you both and thanks for sharing. Caz

Some of the campgrounds are very remote and may not even have a front office. I would not count on being able to get anything at a campground - better to stock up on all you need in Reykjavik when starting out, or in the various towns along the way.

Regarding Scoot economy flight booking: 4. The personal item bag dimensions mentioned by my both airlines are quite small 40cm x 20cm x 10cm. Is this very strict or can I carry my normal sized bagpack as personal item bag which is about 150% (1.5x) of this? 5. Can an overnighter trolley bag (44cm x 44cm x 23 cm = 111cm) fit in the overhead compartment? Can I carry this bag as my carry on cabin luggage with Scoot economy?

Regarding Scoot economy flight booking: 1. can we carry some food items? 2. is bagpack (personal item bag) also included in the weight allowance? OR both the luggage/cabin trolley bag and bagpack/personal item bag considered in weight allowance? 3. It is my first flight. Are the bags weighed when we have to board the flight or early on so that after weighing we can eat something at the airport and, probably, buy some food items to take with us on the flight?

EUROPEAN APPENDIX: 1. The roads are not just narrow, they are non-standard width. Like they were built after just one too many whiskies. Seriously: markings come and go, signage is scarce, there may be a patch of good road turning into a narrow, unmarked lane, filled with potholes. As to the signage itself, it's not bad once you accomodate the fact these are not idiotproof. Apply discretion. 3. Do not cheap out on automatic transmission. Since "everything is on the wrong side" you have one thing less to worry about. 4.In pertinence to previous points: if you have too much to spare, you might want to go for a Range Rover or some other land barge. Rent a Fiat 500, do your roadtrip and thank me later. 5.Parking spaces; two important points of order: as with missing /scarce/ dilapidated signage - check two or three times for parking in disabled spaces, sometimes it's just a few specks of paint at the space entrance "| . . b |-D" ; there are free parking spaces in laybys near attractions, and the attractions are often packed ("f-off, we're full") - just get accustomed to walking a bit more. 6.Motorways and expressways are a bit worse or on par with those in Romania. An expressway means a short road number, expect level intersections, cattle and or pedestrians crossing, tractors turning and UFO landing. USE DISCRETION. 7. Scots typically are not aggressive drivers, but if you did not take my advice about renting a compact car and are doing an average speed of 30mph in a land barge, please do see a layby once in a while, and let those behind you through. 8.For God's sake, learn to drive in a single-track roads. I was a mere tourist, but I still want to murder that Belgian guy who tailgated us permanenty in one such instance, even if the next passing place could clearly accomodate one or two vehicles. I hope you have finally destroyed your Corolla and had to travel back by plane. 9. If you are a fan of deep fat fried everything, Scotland is the place to go. If your nostrils get offended by the mere smell of a barbecue or frying, you have found yourself in hell. Add the petfood smell at EDI airport, and many Scottish towns smelling of soy sauce (that is malt roasting, mate). All in all, the olfactory sensations in Scotland are more often than not in the pungent department. 10. Install RingGo parking app, it's great, I score it at 2/10. Take heed of private car parks that can accomodate public parking (sometimes an appointment is needed; most parking in cities is reserved for residents and max stay durations) these car parks are often unmarked, behind someone's home, or by a hotel.
