Cziffra play Chopin Fantasy for piano in F minor A flat major, Op 49, C 42
György Cziffra (Budapest, November 5, 1921 - Longpont-sur-Orge, January 15, 1994) was a Hungarian virtuoso pianist who naturalized French in 19681.
Best known for his interpretation of the virtuoso works of Franz Liszt, György Cziffra has also recorded several compositions by Chopin and Schumann. His interpretation of the latter's Viennese Carnival was particularly appreciated by Alfred Cortot. Considered one of the best pianists of the 20th century, he is also known for his piano transcriptions of various works, including The Flight of the Bumblebee by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov which presents an astounding interweaving of alternating octaves.

Why are there so few recordings of Martha playing Mozart? I have not heard an interpretation that matches the mastery of this one. I think it's the constant momentum she imposes on the piece - every phrase inevitably succeeds the previous and the control over the delicate melody is captivating.
