Rambling Thoughts on Editing Process and Imposter Syndrome
Переглядів 242 роки тому
Here I start off talking about how my editing process is changing as I work through the latest draft of my Zombie Novella. I move into talking about imposter syndrome and pushing past that to trust that I can make writing work for me. Plus, Senior Kitty Dizzy makes a cameo as well! #Writing #WritingLife #Writer #WritersLife #ImposterSyndrome #EditingFiction

A short video of waves breaking against a promenade at some point between Dumpton Bay and Viking bay. I find the sound of the sea very peaceful and I hadn't realised how much I missed and crave it. #dumptonbay #vikingbay #beach #seaside #waves You can read more about my day on the coast at the link below. This a short video of Dumpton Bay in Broadstairs. This is a beach I spent a lot of time on while I was at the Gap House boarding school between 1991 and 1993. #seaside #dumptonbay #broadstairs #gaphouseschool #beach You can read more about my day on the coast at the link below. Banking The Positives
Переглядів 153 роки тому
Here I talk about how positive feedback needs to be banked and pulled from when the negative elements of a writer crop up. I also talk about trying to keep integrity with our work when submitting.
Self Doubt

Here I talked about doubting my own abilities as a writer and how something like tiredness can affect us. #Writer #WriterStruggles

Location Scouting and How It Changes a Story
Переглядів 143 роки тому
I went to Gravesend town centre to do some location scouting and despite having being there how much I'd forgotten about the area (despite having been been born in the town), and how it's changed elements of the story. #Writer #WritersLife #LocationScouting #Gravesend #Gravesham petergermany.com

I really miss the guy shame he just vanished of the face of the planet would be great to see him again even tam has taken a hiatus also though we didn't part on great terms I did reach out & apologise on several occasions I sent tam a DM on twitch saying that I was wrong & it was all my fault I shouldn't of been so pestering when asking about nicks wellbeing even though I didn't like the way it was handled I should of respected there wishes I do hope they both return I do check there streams often to see if they have become active again
@@danielburgess1113 I wasn’t around when Nick dropped off, so I don’t know what happened I’m afraid.
it was much bigger and better than last years egx
I missed it last year, but I think there was still a lot of Covid fear :(
@@PeterJReaper yeah there was a lot less to see last year and a lot less people too because of the covid worry
@@oceannspiritt659 I hope you were still able to enjoy it despite that
Looks like a great expo ✌️
It was, such a great vibe ☺️
@@PeterJReaper Great to see you enjoy it 🙌
Interesting video. I, too, trust that you can make writing work for you.
Thank you 😊
Fantastic story, wonderful collection, I'm looking forward to getting it! Thank you for sharing. Be good, be kind - I like that!
Thank you, Jude. That means a lot to me 😊 I hope you enjoy the collection! There’s some fantastic tales in it 😊
Your granddad's sister must have been freaking out. She probably thought he was dead, not just severely injured. That's freaky, no wonder you wrote a story about it!
Yeah, cause back then communication was difficult. So it must have been a terrifying time until they knew something.
Yeah, cats.:-)
My poor bookmark! lol
You're gonna get bit!
Yep, it happens often! 🤣
I think EVERY writer has periods of self-doubt. It's such a common thing for writers to say.
I agree, but I think there’s a lot more writers who don’t realise others are going through it :(
I hear you, brother. I've had a spat of self-doubt as well. You hit the nail on the head though: we just got to acknowledge the feeling, know it's just a moment, and keep moving forward. I admire and applaud you for recognizing this and sharing. Keep at it, my friend.
Thank you, Alex. I think a lot of writers can get a bit down when they see others doing well, or appearing to do well. So sharing the rough with the smooth I think is vital.
You just gave us the video, we can track you from this
Well.......wait how do I turn this off?

He likes the snow❤️🐶
He does, but he loves playing ball even more! He gets so excited when we go out for a game :)
Cute doggo❤️🐶
And he knows it! :)
Hahaha!:-)
I had so much fun doing this! :)
Don't you wish we could type that fast in real life?:-)
Oh, dear god yes!
Maybe the beard thing is akin to how women cut long hair short when leaving behind a bad relationship or a boring job. It signals a new start. Smart move, your aiming to turn in your story early to the publisher. Takes the time pressure off during edits. Have a good walk with your friend.
That's the way I'm thinking about it. I needed to make a change, and this one was looking me straight in the face.
Looking forward to the book btw I think this is the year to get things done! So wishing you well with everything!
Thank you, Leah! I'm super excited about the book as well! Feels very real now :D
Cant beat a good ramble
I think it's very underrated and therapeutic :)
👋🏻❤
Thank you :)
I think your novella will be good! I'm looking forward to reading it. You've inspired me to do a daily word count for awhile and then write a blog post about it. The pressure knowing it'll be posted might push me to write more!
It is very good for that motivation, but it's also great to look back at what you've achieved over the year :)
It's awesome when the words flow!
It's such an amazing buzz :)
Well done doing 1800 words. I've really struggled to write lately 🤘
Thank you :) I've been through times where I've struggled, but I found the more I got worked up over it the harder it was to get back on track.
Wishing you every success this year Peter 🤘
Thank you, Leah! ☺️
Looking forward to your next publication. Happy 2021!
Happy 2021, Priscilla! Hopefully I won't keep you waiting too long!
Cant wait for your new book so looking forward mate great little vid
Cheers, Dave! As soon as editing is done, artwork finalised I'll be looking to publish it!
@@PeterJReaper ok great mate can’t wait
Good snippet!
Thank you, this was my first published story and such an easy one to write :)
