I just realized that the reason that Buffy only had her mom is likely because if they had written her as having a father that truly loved her in her life he would have butted heads with Giles over Buffy being a Slayer. And Giles and Papa Summers would have probably beat the shit out of each other.

I adore Buffy/Klaus. There are a few vids out there but there needs to be more. I know many ship her with Damon or Stefan but I think because of everything they've both gone through, Klaus is the best VD/O option for her....well supernatural option anyway as I also love Buffy/Jeremy.
