There is an error in the solution which you might have over looked. the second new triangle which you have constructed is an isosceles triangle it has angles 72,72,36 the 2+p side is slightly bent so it becomes a quadrilateral. You can't equal 2+p side to the other . If you think it is correct try constructing using a protractor and ruler it cannot be possible

Hey, take a look at my method: Let the height of the triangle = h Therefore, the area of the red triangle = 10h Area of the square = x² We create the equation (10h - x² = 0) from the provided info. Let this be E[1]. Also, h + x = 30. Let this be E[2]. Solving E[1] and E[2]: 10(30 - x) - x² = 0 300 - 10x - x² = 0 x² + 10x - 300 = 0 On solving the quadratic equation, x = 13.027 (approx) remains the valid solution.
