For anyone struggling to get the cable out: don't pull on it. Use two small flat screwdrivers. One on each side. It came out easily for me

Just received the dash cam and tried to fit it to my Australian 2023 NX250. Does not fit correctly. Not able to use the OEM cover that fits directly under the mirror. Also not able to use the supplied cover that goes directly under the mirror as it is larger than the OEM cover and can not be fitted.

FYI: You should remove the transport safety frame (edge protection) from your Smart #1 rear-view mirror (the clear plastic part around it). It is still mounted.

does this shut off straight away in the BMW or stay on like the lighter socket for a few minutes?

It’s not as easy as it looks

I have this version, but with the short wire that plugs into the OEM receptacle next to the mirror. There is a lot of excess wire with no place to hide it, and it's very ugly.

Thank you for this installation Video. Just installed the Cam on the jaguar I-Pace. Well they made it look a bit easier as it is. the mirror Cover is very tough to get of. Had to use a lot of force. But it worked as described in the video. The cover did budge after I squeezed it with thumb and index from front and Back--> That opend a slot to insert the blue tool to pry it open. Everything else was rather easy! It took me 20 Minutes to install in totoal. Cam works perfectly. Starts Video automaticaly with the car and saves the important Videos with write protection (when high g-forces where detected). Video Quality is good. I did not even set it to 4K to save space. As standard resolution is not yet set to 4K, but can be set to 4K in the App. Thank you for a very good and stylish product. It is not visible from driver and passenger seating position! looks like OEM.

As @actionjp8735 says before, this is quite an unsafe installation. Putting the rear camera wire where you have will affect the deployment of the curtain airbag, and may result in extra injuries caused by the flying cable in a deployment accident. To do it safely you must remove the A-Pillar trim and run the wire over the top and BEHIND the airbag. It takes more work but will not affect airbag deployment.

Where does the rear camera cable go? Do you have a tutorial for that?

Fitcamx is the best

It will not have parking video feature for this type of installation. To have parking video function, the system must be connected to fuse box with three wires: “ACC wire: power on fuse then car is on - not start or start”, “BAT wire: power always on fuse even car is off” and ground wire. Require a fuse wiring connection kit.
