Charlie Beck! The CEO who ignores his customers, might be worth looking into him on Companies House for dissolved business, which he conveniently forgot to mention in the podcast. As for Deliver 1, or should it be Collect 1? Absolutely appalling company to whom customer service is a major inconvenience. They took 21 weeks to ship my possessions from UK to Thailand, clearly their storage is not environmentally controlled as everything arrived covered in a black furry mould with some items damaged beyond repair. It took the threat of legal action to get them to put my items onto a ship. The owner Charlie seems incapable of telling the truth, he claimed the delay was due to my asking to stop the shipment, something I cancelled within 24 hours. The Operations Manager categorically told me my request was not the cause of the delay as they took no action. I then wrote to Charlie and asked him to provide any evidence of any communication to his shipping agent, strangely he didn’t respond and subsequently did not respond to any communication. They were not the cheapest and I feel a fool to be taken in by their grand claims of performance and customer service/ communication which in reality is non existent. Sadly I did not read the reviews of many previous customers many of whom describe major frustrations with Deliver 1 Their agent in Thailand Allied were excellent however they took some convincing that my items were collected in the UK on 4th June and not delivered until 26th October. Absolutely dreadful company who simply don’t understand either international shipping or customer service, avoid at all costs!

An interesting, useful and candid conversation for these challenging times. Thank you. I've made a "clip" of Matt's comments relating to the imperative of becoming a strategic partner of agency clients - which IMO requires client facing leaders with the rare skillset that includes an understanding of business strategy and who have the "heft" to influence clients at board level. I have posted the clip (around @44m) on the ADVFN investor discussion site of The Mission Group plc (TMG.L). It's a listed public company comprising a collective of 19 agencies which has recently posted a profit warning. They say "...in the Consumer & Lifestyle, Property, and Technology & Mobility business units, where client wins have been more than offset by losses and several clients choosing to defer or significantly reduce spending. The Board now believes these more challenging trading conditions will continue for the remainder of the year" . Lost clients and reduced spending may be a result of not being embedded enough, strategically, with those clients. It may also reflect the comments in your conversation about "ghosting".
