Let me say this first; no, it’s not real carbon fiber. I didn’t care to get the real thing for the interior, I just wanted to get rid of the silver trim on a budget. So, flame me all you want lol. But, today I installed some carbon fiber over lays on the interior of my Pontiac G8 and I am quite pleased with the result!

So last video I installed the ARH header kit going to some GXP mufflers. love you have the holden badge. can i make a few suggestions change the cluster to either a VE Calais or HSV one, not cheap but they look dam cool, perhaps look into a maloo side skirt, and perhaps WM statesman mirrors i believe you call the WM statesman a PPV and wire up the puddle lights to your indicators ,i have the G8 front on my wagon that i got before the Elizabeth factory closed,I do love the black G8/VE commodores, she does sound angry

@@cevinmoore8428 Unfortunately I couldn’t afford to keep both. The G8 was a great car and has a nice new home, just was time to part ways! Maybe one day in the future I’ll pickup what I’ve always really wanted, a black on black G8 GXP. But for now, I love the ZL1!
@@Tanner_Teves I'm not mad @ your choice by any means just that your g8 was Hella nice and very rare. But I will say I wad talking to my wife and the funny thing is I told her I wanted a 2017 SS camaro. The one thing that I love is they handle very well
I did love how unique and uncommon it was! But that in and of itself comes with its own flaws, anything body panel wise is practically impossible to find. The 6th Gen SS’ are great cars!
@@Tanner_Teves Right I got mine back last year and have to go to junk yards ro find things. But yeah you got a sweet upgrade for sure. And really with even some simple mods your HP will increase alot

@@austinwallace6943 I loved my G8 but I just didn’t enjoy driving it as much anymore. It’s only “better” cause it’s more unique. The ZL1 is basically a 2 door coupe of it with a supercharger, better brakes, cooling, and suspension.
@Tanner_Teves yeah, your right I like zl1s to, but I mean my g8s super charged with brembos and better cooling so I guess since yours was mostly stock it's wasn't as cool
@@austinwallace6943 I debated supercharging the G8 but there was just a lot that I would have needed to spend to get it where I wanted it and those costs wouldn’t have made sense for it.

@@austinwallace6943 Also my G8 wasn’t mostly stock lol. It was LS3 swapped with intake, headers, catback, coilovers, transmission cooler, differential swap, BMR trailing and toe arms, etc. My ZL1 still feels more fun

Congratulations on the upgrade. Back in January I sold my black gto and bought a black 2014 zl1. No regrets here. To the haters, the 5th gen is built on the zeta platform so it shares many parts with the g8 and ss. Though, the zl1 is more car than a g8 will ever be. It’s more than a blower. The brakes, diff cooler and don’t sleep on the magnaride! Since you got an automatic, my suggestion for a performance mod would be a 10 speed swap. Never seen one but the performance of them is what separates our cars from the new ones. That would be epic. Enjoy the new car, keep Holden it down.

If it has the oem exhaust, it's nnp bi mode vaccum controlled. It works like the c6z npp...opens above 3k rpm I believe. You can either buy a npp controller box and control it with a remote to keep open or closed or you can pull the fuse which will leave it open

When you swapped the engine to the GXP one did you need to change anything else or was it plug and play compatible ecu and wire harness bro?
@@JR-if5vr Hey bro, so when I had the LS3 installed I just had the shop swap the accessories and oil pan from the L76 to the LS3. Nothing else was required to my knowledge

Just brought what's probably the highest mileage g8 v6 for 1500. Has 285k. The engine runs, but the car goes in gear but won't move. The seller told me it had trans issues. I plan on putting either a 5.3 or l92, but for now I wanna fix the trans and daily it.

@@Natty.Motion Buddy, they’re slow cars lol. At least at 6,000ft elevation they are. Maybe it’s better at sea level but here it’s slow. Idk what else a driver could do except put their foot down to the floor, it’s not a manual where you need to time shifts.
I know this a me problem, not a you problem but as someone who is borderline OCD about keeping my cars clean I almost started hyperventilating when you installed the new diffuser without cleaning the surface underneath it. Much love from a fellow G8 GT owner.
Bought 1 new in 09. PBM/19s/red/black interior. Fun cars. Head turner at the time, especially when murdered out and had a cam installed. Would I buy 1 today, maybe. I'd do an SS if anything.

@@Tanner_Teves curious. say you started with your spring adjustment in the middle. if you were to lower the spring adjustment an inch, will the car drop an inch? Where did yours end up?
@cdz2269 I’m honestly not sure if it is a true 1:1 ratio (meaning if I lower the spring an inch the car drops an inch). Both front and rear are pretty much right in the middle though, that is where they ended up for me.
I'm interested in the stereo setup you have, what is it and where can you get it? I also installed a carbon fiber wheel today and the pieces you installed. I actually like it for such a simple upgrade.
@@andrewmadia4669 Hey bro! So the head unit itself is a BOSS BE9ACP. It’s a single din head unit that extends out and becomes a big ass screen lol. Then the actual facia plate is an aero pro V1 (this lets you run aftermarket head units in the G8 so you could use any head unit you want). I’m glad you like em! I got some hate for them but idc I hate the silver and these were cheap and easy to install!
You mentioned how hard you driving since it's the GT how have you experienced the transmission? I've heard mixed reviews on the auto transmission for the GT. Also what is that infotainment that you have and where can I get it? Is it a pain to get it paired to the steering wheel??
Another great g8 video. How is the ride compared fo stock? I'm on ppv struts with king springs and it's a tad harsh but not to bad

I just got a g8 and I installed a new GT badge on the back. Should I make a video about it? Probably not............ Dude , dont fall into the lame trap of putting Holden Badges on your car. A. It looks ugly like a metal cookie pattern cutter tool. B. It doesnt make you cooler because you can tell people who dont know what it is C. As much as you like to think otherwise; At the end of the day, your title says PONTIAC - Be proud of AMERICAN name.

fun fact the gxp actually had the same hp as the vette at the time. it was displayed as 15 less hp bc the vette is their baby.
