    I was browsing Vegas because I want to go to the Grateful Dead exhibit at the Venetian. I'm not a gambler per se, but I go to Vegas a lot. You won't believe this deal.. I found a no frills flight on frontier for 127$ round trip. I always to personal item only anyways. My room at M resort is comped! I get access to their amazing pool! I'm so excited😊

    Many airlines now will only accept a certain size and weight carry on, and "under the seat bag" is not allowed. It's a "personal item" and also has to be a certain size. I wish it were still as easy as it used to be.

      Yes! Very frustrating with airlines trying to get more and more money in baggage fees.

    I’ve been traveling with carryon plus personal item for years. The next challenge is to get down to only one small backpack plus small purse.

    • @LaurieLore
      @LaurieLore 21 день тому

      I haven’t been able to do a small backpack yet but for shorter trips I do use just the overnight bag I mentioned in the video. The less I have to carry the better! 🧳😂

    The only reason I would take a large bag would be empty on the way over and full on the way back. 😅

      Ha! Yes-it can be difficult with a carry-on to bring home too many treasures. I'm always very mindful of that when I choose what to buy on my trips-jewelry fits well...

    Many wont accrpt carry on plus personal item just 1 bag at 7kg.. 😢 Weight wise will get cabin max metz at 30l is less than a kg in weight. Used to use the carry on on 2 wheels but no longer any hoid as measurements have changed on most airlines. Only BA has a generous allowance.. However after bag waa lost for 13 days and expense it cost me with zero compensation never again ever will check in .. knew itvwould happen as never got 2 boarding passes at the start.

    • @LaurieLore
      @LaurieLore Місяць тому

      Oh no! I hate when bags are lost, 13 days and no compensation is awful. 🙁

    • @sunflowerfields4409
      @sunflowerfields4409 Місяць тому

      OMG! That's awful. They should definitely have compensated you for that. 13 days is no joke. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

      International airlines allow 1 carry-on up to max 21,6'' (55 cm) and 1 personal item, which fits under seat. Because US carry-on is often 22'' (55,8 cm) some international airlines accept it. Weight limits are very different. Budget airlines sometimes have 7 kgs (15 lbs) on carry-on and personal item in total. But normally weight limit is 10 kgs (22 lbs) on carry-on and 2 kgs (4 lbs) on personal item in total. Best thing is definitively to check always restrictions for cabin luggage directly online with airlines before flying. Travelling in Europe (I'm European) - not all cities have cobblestones everywhere. In center of cities (old town districts) you found cobblestones but not everywhere.

    I learned the hard way years ago that dragging a large suitcase is not worth it. At all. I refuse to bring more than a tiny (and I mean TINY) carry-on bag and maybe a small one to put under my seat. I prefer to bring only a carry on and my purse for under the seat. My rule is that if it doesn't fit, it's not coming. Most hotels have hair dryers so no need to pack that. If they don't have them, oh well, my hair goes on top of my head and nobody can tell anyway. (and if they can, I don't care!) 🤣 The crux of the matter is that I'm the one who has to drag it around and I'm not interested in dragging anything huge.

    Great tips! I live near Round Top and host day trips to Warrenton/Round Top. If people prefer to go on their own, I can also do custom itineraries of places to hit and places to miss. My itineraries include timing and routing through the sites to avoid having to sit in traffic. Nothing is more frustrating knowing that you have limited time to shop and spending a good bit of it stuck in traffic. I agree with you about paying for admission to a venue. Marburger has increased their prices, and I’m so disappointed about that. The fall weather can be tricky too. Just pack for various types of weather no matter when you come. A fun thing to add to your trip is visiting nearby Fayetteville. There are antiques on the square, and on Tuesday evenings in October and March, there’s free, live music on the square. Just bring a chair and a picnic dinner, or support one of the local restaurants. One more thing, there’s now a winter antique show each January. Not all venues are open, but there’s enough open that you can still shop for a couple of days. It’s way less crowded than the spring and fall shows, and it’s rarely hot.

    Love ur tips. I’ve been attending the Round Top fair for over 30 yrs n have avoided The Big Red Barn n Marburger Farm bc of their entrance fees n elevated price points. It’s out of principle bc there r plenty of other venues i.e. Blue Hills, The Arbors n The Compound which include some high caliber vendors with a vast selection of true antiques n the BEST prices! There r so also many wonderful treasures to be scored in Warrenton fr Tree Hide Park, Sommerby, The Gin, Zenck Hall, Zapp Hall, Excess I & II n Cole’s Antiques. Looking forward to ur other videos.
