    Neat jobs and sweet videos. 🤠👍

    Man, that was quite a long reach to get those pieces in their new location! It's a good thing that 1930's French rolling stock (the tiny boxcar) was so diminutive. If that were an American boxcar of the same era, it probably would have been safer to dismantle it then move it. To move that canopy all intact over that reach...impressive. 🤠👍

      A very delicate job for sure! A lot planning went into every aspect of this project by all involved. Thanks for the love!!

    Holy cow...If it wasn't documented with this awesome video, few would believe that that mobile crane got in there and actually made that lift and reach successfully! Tight quarters, indeed! Thanks to whomever put this production (video) together. I have always been fascinated by this dam and have always wanted to see what it is like inside the powerhouse. And amazing work by the rigging and moving crews! 🤠👍

    Pretty sure I've been around these guys moving machinery over the years of working in aerospace machine shops on Phoenix. Wonder what happened to the rigging company that was run by an old guy named Elvis?

      Behind this dam? I thought it was determined to be unsafe to fill this lake anymore much above the 10% level?

    It would be super nice to have this lake full again. It was one of the better bass lakes in the state. Water rights is a big issue and there is more money in selling the water then keeping the lake full.

    No flowing water in this Dam,,,,No electricity generated. I know they’ve shut the water off in the gila river. Seems this monsoon there’s been a massive flooding in to Coolidge damn from Gila River. Apparently it’s just not enough water like in the olden days

  • @EristiCat

    What was the purpose of the project? Taking old stuff out? Putting new stuff in? Isn't the whole thing shut down?

    • @southwestindustrialrigging
      @southwestindustrialrigging 2 роки тому

      The dam is once again in operation at a much less capacity than it was. It was a long project that ultimately was a huge success for all involved.

    • @EristiCat
      @EristiCat 2 роки тому

      @@southwestindustrialrigging Would I be correct in taking from your comment that the old valves were not working so the dam really didn't "work" and the new working valves now allow it to "work" to the extent it can with the reduced capacity due to the safety concerns? It's an amazing structure with a fascinating history. Early in the 1900's going over the Dam (the road across it) was one of the few transcontinental routes for the US. It's so isolated and off the beaten track now it's hard to imagine it used to be a major artery across the country. I was up there about a month ago talking to a couple of the workers and there is going to be a 100-year anniversary celebration in a few years.

    • @southwestindustrialrigging
      @southwestindustrialrigging 2 роки тому

      @@EristiCat The full scope of work done at the dam is not our information to share. We were hired to do the work featured in the video. It certainly is a magnificent structure and it was a pleasure to be a part of restoring the dam.

      Phoenix gets creative with its cell tower disguises for sure! These are modular residences. This was the first phase of four 3 story condos.

  • @epistte

    I'm guessing by the foundation and shape that this is a machine tool being set.

    The truck and the excavator in the river are a nice touch. I assume the bridge is for a walking/bike path. Its obviously too narrow and lightly built for cars.

    • @southwestindustrialrigging
      @southwestindustrialrigging 2 роки тому

      @@epistte Fortunately during the winter, the Animas runs pretty shallow allowing us to plan the connection of the bridge in the river. Summer months bring about another 6' of water flowing due to the snow runoff from the mountains just north of this project. Our photographer/videographer is definitely a pro! Thank you.
