yeah the tonemaster just sounds a little better.. a little cleaner, like comparing an old radio vs new radio.... some might say its a bad thing, that old is better.
This is what I always wanted to see close up...Thanks Redd, you are the best...
Awesome!!!!
Rittenberry all the way!
Thanks for recording/ posting this Mike! You and Redd sound wonderful together!
Glad to have had the honors to play drums in the late 80s
Un…be…lievable. I wonder if that is the original single coil and what amp Tyler is using…
So COOL Thank You Mike...
Good to see the bass player grab a smile and a laugh with the drummer....(I could just imagine what they find comical..)
Redd, please play my song, "Diamond Rings and Cadillacs..."
Nice stuff man
Anyone know what amp/amps he is using? I do this “guitar/steel at the same time” thing quite often and am always searching for better solutions/amps that can do both well
To this day after some 30 years playing pedal steel I mostly use the a&b pedals and the e lower knee lever. A lot of mileage with just that and your bar. Comes from beginning with a lap steel and my prior guitar experience.
Should you tune to the top of the note or the bottom? I like the bottom.
And intonater
Redd is a prolific note placer
Beautiful vibe and playing from Mike. Love that Edmonds tone.
Love it man!
See I’m stuck! I have a fender 408 string long scale and I’m questioning whether I should run the higher strings on it and ditch to lower ones? The other problem is, because of it being a long scale, the tuning is in D7 because of tention. If I bump it up to nine, then there’s a possibility of breaking strings.
Confirmed just watched him, still 🔥
I love Redd's playing... I wish I were half the player... I'd love to sit in on bass, even. This bass player is better than I am. The biggest reason is I've been seriously playing (or trying) to play guitar. I keep switching from Telecasters to Straocasters. I love both. After watching and listening to Redd play I'm so inspired to Tele the day away..,. I'd love for Redd to play my song, "Diamond Rings and Cadillacs". It's on my channel. Check it out and suggest it to him???
Hell yeah!
Great playing both Steel and tele, should be on double pay.
"Here, string all these pre learned cliches together and then people who don't know better will tell you you're great and you can go around Nashville acting all belligerent towards other musicians."
Again...Jimma is in another health issue. He played three gigs Monday night...and had a car crash on the way home. Please pray for him!
when the Bourque man does it, it's done right!! sounds great guys!
He should listen to big E version of the song
I’m gona work on all of those. Thx for sharing.
@ 14:43 Isn’t that a “Counterpoint” note? Kind of a “Way to Survive” intro?
Sounds great, as usual. 🤠🥳
Great playing Mike! Got the chance to meet you at TSGA jamboree this year! You are a great musician!
Nice!
Tone to da bone!
Sounds wonderful. Came across this video, watched one song and ended up watching the whole thing, multiple times. Good luck to ya!
What venue is this at please.😊
hope you get double pay
I’m curious what he’s got going on in his right hand- is it a pick for the guitar, or finger picks for the PSG?
Incredible musicianship all round.
I've been a Redd fan for many years. The guy is both a great guitarist but also a great person.
Now play something really slow and pretty with a thumpick and finger picks. And really show the tone..
Amazing guitar player very professional!!
Sounds good Mike!!
Love it Johnny !
Thank you for gathering up all these great vids..
Great guys. Super job.
Thank you
You better play that tele sir! WTF
An inspiration for us boomers!
Love it guys! True Christmas Spirit - real people making real music!
Merry Christmas Mike and Jamie too! I absolutely enjoy your picking on any instrument and I hope I eventually get to meet you at some point. You are the man!
Merry Ho Ho, fellas! Thanks for sharing :-)
