Thank you for this. I can't wait to try. I used to use Lee Kum Kee and loved it until I looked at the ingredients! Caramel color and toxic preservatives. I love using hoisin in so many dishes! One favorite is Eggroll in a Bowl. I also use it as a marinade for Bahn Mi sandwiches.

Love this recipe!! We have a dish like this in the Philippines called Laing but we use gabi/taro leaves and some pork pieces in it and sometimes use fish paste as well. I like this recipe since it’s vegan 🌱 can’t wait to try more recipes! Oh yeah I’ve cooked your tinaktak recipe as well so good!! Thank you!! 🙏

I’m from Guam I live in the southern end of the Island but we never tried or heard of using achote

Here we learn from the from our Auntie or the elders but I should try using achote it won’t hurt to try. Usually it’s flour and baking powder and water and sugar

I am Mexican and love 💕 “limony” and spicy 🌶️ foods and never thought I could mix chicken with coconut 🥥 and lime 🍋🟩but these ingredients do go good together 😋. I have a question 🙋♀️… I can’t find the red fresh peppers 🌶️ you used in the video. I only found green ones and dried red ones. Can I do it with green or dried peppers. Also, I will have to use a fresh 🥥 coconut because

Hafa Adai (hello in Guam- CHamoru language) This version of Chicken keleguen is boiling the chicken. I have the authentic CHamoru version of preparing chicken Keleguen. Give both recipes a try and share which version you liked. You can also use rotisserie chicken. Debone it, chop it up and add the ingredients to make the recipe. Of course to taste since I haven't shown the rotisserie version yet. You can use whatever pepper you have. Green ones are fine too. You can also use red chili flakes if you have none. It's just to give that spicy flavor. As for the coconut, fresh grated ones are the best. I'm glad that you have tried this recipe before. Was it a friend or family from Guam whom you've tried CHamoru Food from? I hope that I answered your questions. Appreciate all the love and support.

hafa adai! did you use store bought shredded coconut ? and if so, was it sweet or unsweetened? i don’t have a kamyu here in the states… debating if i buy a coconut from the store & put in a food processor or grate it up..😅🙏❤️🇬🇺 TYIA!
