A 280 million Euro new 22 km road opened in Nov 2023 that bypasses what was one of the worst stretches of National Primary road in Ireland in terms of road alignment, sight lines, road width, private accesses, urban congestion in Ballyvourney/Macroom, and pavement quality. It is now one of the most impressive and scenic roads in Ireland carved through one of the more difficult yet scenic pieces...

Railway History in Kerry in 1964. Listowel to Tralee to Fenit to Farranfore to Killarney.

Go back in time to Kerry in 1964 and see what it's like to travel by train on some of the railway lines and rail yards no longer around since their demise in the 1980s or thereabouts. Gone is the North Kerry line from Limerick to Tralee (although the part from Limerick to Ballingrane is being restored as part of the Limerick to Foynes railway re-instatement project) and also gone is the Tralee ...
This piece of film is a historic treasure.
Another gathering where a person thinks our flag of the US is okay to use as a cape. SAD!
(11:23) Where was this place? I remember visiting in 1988 (that's my blue datsun with the Caroline sticker in the back window) and remember checking the link freqs (141MHz) from the aerials round the back. In fact that's my piccy! 🙂
All must be reopened.
А как же велосипедисты?
All these railways should NEVER have been pulled up, when you think of the hard work that went into building these networks, they are now needed.
I have the DORLING KINDERSLEY DK EYEWITNESS GUIDES Book of TRAIN. Discover the story of railways - from the days of steam to the high - speed, sophisticated trains of today. In association with THE NATIONAL RAILWAY MUSEUM.

thank you for this
Lovely film. Roll on the Listowel to Tralee Greenway
Nearest thing to a working Time Machine I've seen in years..! Big Thank you to the film restorers and of course, the original enthusiasts who captured this wonderful footage, beautifully shot with such careful camerawork, so we can appreciate this unique visual experience over half a century later. Chapeau! 🧢

Hi 🥬⚪
I'll be there tomorrow!Salute #IGY6
Trump's legal team is 0-12 in lawsuits related to this election. I've read the dockets to some and I'm telling you there's no case. I just read last suit to stop Montgomery County Board of Elections from counting mail-in ballots in PA. Give you the important part. (The Court = the Judge) (Mr Goldstein = Trump's Lawyer) ----- THE COURT: I understand. I am asking you a specific question, and I am looking for a specific answer. Are you claiming that there is any fraud in connection with these 592 disputed ballots? MR. GOLDSTEIN: To my knowledge at present, no. THE COURT: Are you claiming that there is any undue or improper influence upon the elector with respect to these 592 ballots? MR. GOLDSTEIN: To my knowledge at present, no. THE COURT: Does it make a difference whether a claim of irregularity or technical noncompliance with the election code is made with or without an accompanying claim of fraud or improper influence ? MR. GOLDSTEIN: It does not. ----- Yeah I like law stuff so I don't know if this is as clear to you as it is to me but the judge isn't having it. Judge's line of questions is basically asking then why the Eff are we here in court if you don't have a case!! Trump's lawyer can't say yes to any of his questions because there's no evidence, and even if they did the 592 ballots won't make a difference. It's bad for Trump's case, not only is it a losing case/getting thrown out before do to lack of evidence but at this level there's a penalty for wasting the courts time with things like this... it's that bad.
Rather than sit back and essentially do nothing my family decided to make the 3 hour drive to Springfield to do something about this election fraud. We will never regret going on Saturday and I was proud to upload these video clips of this historic moment. Heard about this event from Ashley Ramos on 560 AM as info on this event was blocked across much of social media and the internet (felt like China). Lastly God knew I turned up and did something.
Is there another event tomorrow?
That is true hiii btw

wrky Killarney was at thomond house 40 high street .kingdom 102 was 71 new street.
Was this the same WRKY from Stubbenville West Virginia?
Hi Brian great to hear these old tapes again, when are you going to put some more up? it looks like a couple of years since your last input on this era. Most of the TX's were 70-120 watts erp, check out my own site at www.biglradiolimerick.com for more info or use the contact page, would love to hear from anyone with tapes to upload, will assist if required
I used to do the Breakfast Show weekdays in Killarney c. 83/84. I would very much like to hear your recordings of the early days. My name is Dave Cutter and supplied the station I.D. jingles from a defunct station in Ohio, USA. I also played in 'The Swinging Jarvey's' - resident band at the GlenEagles Hotel (and I'm a yank) :)
@Ev Rider aka Dave Cutter, You may not believe this but I could receive the Killarney version of Rocky 103 in Tralee around 83/84, I would have been age 11 at the time. I believe the original WRKY was in Steubenville, Ohio. They used the vocal modified version of the TM Century Stereo Rock '82 Jingle package. jinglesamplers.com/audio/TMSR'82Demo(Rock102).mp3 PS I'm also a "yank". Also if there is any way you could upload the WRKY jingles to UA-cam, if you still have them that is, it would be a mean a lot to me and others who valued this time in Kerry radio history.
Thank you for posting this. I was one of the first DJ's at WRKY in the early days in Killarney. (I supplied the WRKY jingles taken from a defunct radio station in the states). I was pleased to hear at least one of the jingles still in use on this video recording. I have tremendous respect for Mike Richardson and others who brought an independent FM radio station to Co. Kerry. Many of the first dj's at WRKY were enrolled in a KISS FM radio broadcast course in Dublin c. 1983.

You're foreignbahahahahaha
The tune you played I think had "Rhapsody" in the name.
I visited your studio once to pick up a prize at Castle Heights hotel. Remember climbing a ladder to get to the roof studio, I was fascinated by it all. It is likely what got me hooked into the electrical engineering field. I'm an EE in the US. Loved when computers first allowed multi-track recording, midi, audio editing, burning CDs. I broadcasted on the web in 1997 (stereo Real Audio, 20 kbps) from the US. I got to put up my cassette clips of SWR up on the web.
I remember you were the engineer for SWR and that you were also an instrumental musician, one of the your tunes I heard quite a bit on SWR still is in my head after all these years. I still remember the ad, (I have it on tape), "There is no radio station called Killarney radio, just South West, the best". Some of the presenters had great voices, Alan Brown, and the guy that did the ad for wedding at the Castle Heights Hotel (sounded like Ian Dempsey) Notice photo of CHH in video about late 80s.
