skateiQ fundamentals are a skateboarding cheat code ⬆⬆⬇⬇⬅➡⬅➡🅱🅰
After a couple months with skateiQ, I keep trying things I think I can't do (e.g. recently 360 kickturn, switch ollie, bs180 flyout), and discovering I can because of what the drills have developed. Practicing the fundamentals and getting and giving feedback make it so much easier to figure out tricks on your own. I can't recommend it enough.

PS dear me, next time walk back to the car and get your helmet when you see the new obstacle -_- That fall coulda sucked
PPS sorry the angle is kinda wack, just had my phone propped on a sweatshirt and didn't realize it dipped

Second Year Skating
Переглядів 49Місяць тому
This spans from 6 months after my fibula fracture to about 2 years after, but I spent ~6 months of it recovering from a SLAP tear in my shoulder. So it's about a year of skating. In that time I got my first stationary kickflips, 50-50s, rock-to-fakie on little then big ramps, bs and fs carves on the rainbow rail, shove-it on a ramp (no footage), rock-and-rolls, monster walks, and reverts. It wa...
Ghost Ride the Whip quarterpipe practice day 1
Переглядів 92Місяць тому
Starting to work on Mitchie's ghost ride the whip challenge. It's patently obvious I hadn't watched his clip in a couple weeks when I randomly decided to try this (eg I completely forgot about the running part), but damn it's fun. The tombstone instead of coping is like a cheat, but it's still gonna murder the next person who plays skate with me 😂 SkateiQ - Ghost Ride the Whip: ua-cam.com/video...
goldilocks and the three bails (rock-n-roll practice)
Переглядів 822 місяці тому
actually there are no bails in here, but the ramps get bigger and bigger like the bear chairs The other day my buddy showed me how to rock and roll on the itty bitty ramp, then I got the slightly less itty bitty, and another day the bank. I watched a skateiQ thing about them recently so today I worked my way up from itty bitty to only small, but with coping. They feel great, I'm surprised that ...
Central Cascades - Bishop Ridge Loop
Переглядів 593 місяці тому
Some clips from doing a loop on dirtbikes in the Blue Lakes area of the Cascades. Blue Lake Ridge (271) to Bishop Ridge (272) to Valley Trail (270). Part of the north end of Bishop Ridge is pretty incredibly washed out, but it wasn't too bad going down. Unfortunately I reverse-recorded the really fun fast and flowy part of the valley trail below, so I don't have any of that. I usually keep thin...
An Arbitrary Obstacle

Practicing trials on the Vertigo is always fun. I marked a long section of uphill and downhill off-camber turns. This part (going backwards through part of an old competition section) was the trickiest: tight right turn over a root directly into accelerating out of an off-camber uphill left turn to clear a root step just before the downhill left turn. I didn't even realize I'd floated that last...
Vertigo Snow Fun
Переглядів 29Рік тому
A great day on the Vertigo trials bike with a few inches of snow on the trails. Just below freezing was perfect. There was a lot of animal sign, from ubiquitous deer and birds to rabbit and bobcat. The Vertigo was terrific as always and the KTM 200 and Beta X-Trainer did well too. There were some big newly downed trees we'll need to clear with chainsaws later, but lots of places are still passa...
Beach waves in 2024 0109 Storm
Переглядів 37Рік тому
Winds in the straits were 45 gusting 55 knots for hours, with peak gusts over 60. Buoy was 9-12 feet. The waves here east of angeles point were breaking 2-3 farther out than I've seen; then reforming and breaking 1-2 more times, still 6 ft on their third break.

Friendship Trial - October 2023
Переглядів 124Рік тому
Some highlights from a Puget Sound Trials event at the Friendship property outside Port Angeles. This was my second event ever, hadn't ridden a trials bike in months... so my turns were pretty terrible. Still a blast; perfect weather, lotsa fun. POV is me on a borrowed Vertigo, third person views are a friend on his GasGas.
Axle Stall practice

I've got it on low things but I'm having trouble transferring to bigger and steeper shapes. I think I'm keeping my shoulders too open, and coming at it too fast.

Kayaker on Elwha River former dam site lower section
great analysis bro
hell yeah
Man i went to a ledge recently and it looked big but then i did the ollie and it felt easier than the lower things id usually go for??? Skating is confusing
Also I really liked this chill little two minute video with the voiceover, liked and subbed, looking forward to the future 😁
The best kind of surprise!
great analysis
Thank you for saying so!
Crazy seeing a spot right out side my class I’ve skated 100s of times
@@mexre whoa I bet! You've probably put some wax on it, thanks for helping make it. I can't wait to go back and get through the downhill part. If you're still in the area and see me at the skatepark, say hi!
Love it man, just what I needed to see today
I'm glad it helped you out!
Dope video brother
Smooth bro. Now add some shove it’s on the return
Lots of great spots and good foundational skills! Epic! Keep going!
@@TheTWhite Thank you so much!
I've dedicated over 20+ years to skating, it's honestly such a great stress relief and nice for instilling that "always get back up no matter how hard ya fall" mentality so I've always recommend giving skating a try if it at all peaks someone's interest. No matter your age or skill, most skaters are welcoming and ain't gonna judge you(not saying there are those who don't but they're few and far between). It's just nice seeing people passionate about it and pushing themselves, ya know.. Kudos, keep it up my man!
Thanks, and heck yeah! After a long time surfing, the good vibes at skateparks are a big part of the appeal. It's been almost 2 years now and I still can't get enough of skating, I just wanna do it all the time.
So much progression in this video, Transition looked so comfy by the end, also skate stopper avoidance challenge and caveman were both sick!!🙏🏽❤❤🙏🏽
respect
vgh
i was looking for exacly that film. ty for sharing :D
Cheers, I thought so too. I want to say it's stock, but it's been too long to remember for sure.
Nice! Sounds badass! Is that stock exhaust?
This isn't a shift from FM1-4, it's a separate series and FM5 will come out next fall. I disagree with your assessment of the driving feel. The NFS games have faceroll physics, whereas Horizon is rock solid. No, this isn't the place to perfect your F1 precision techniques, but it is a place to make racing decisions i.e. how fast to attack a crest, what line to take, grip available, drafting, how hard to push etc. It isn't arcade; knowing how to handle a car is crucial to being fast.
The driving feel is lost. Every car handles like it's on rails, there is no strategy to braking any more, handling is dirt easy, even with every single assist off, while Forza 4 truly challenges driving sim fanatics. If you want NFS Underground... well here it is, Forza style. But I won't be buying this as I have no interest in arcade racers an it's a huge shift from Forza 1-4. I hope it's not a sign of things to come.
thank goodness it wasnt a valve tapping
Haha don't judge the sim quality by this, I'm at the boundaries of what the game does here, finding random strange corners to bounce off of. I have spent hundreds of hours in Forza 4 and I think Horizon is without a doubt a worthy sequel; the physics are legit imo, I think different cars in the full game will convert the skeptics. Anyway, I have the CSR pedals and the CSR shifter. I think they're definitely worth the money, it's very fun to drive with them.
saw your post on reddit. i have to say i am a bit disappointed. i was expecting an arcade style game, but not this much. and i shouldnt be surprised since i watched the trailers all over the internet. it looked NFS-esque but i didnt think it would feel like it too. also, you got a CSR wheel right? what peddles do you have? and is it worth the money?
Turned out to be no big deal. I ran the engine a bit more and as it warmed up it got much quieter. It may have been a lifter that wasn't yet full on oil, I'm not sure, but the car is happy.
Sounds like Gran Turismo car :D :D :D
Also it sounds like a futurist car
The Tesla does not make any noise than the other sports cars that run on gas , but this one is electric.
i thought it looked funny too haha
you guys are lucky, in the netherlands you cant ride almost anywhere off-road. it's all illegal :( looks like fun there!
@TerrifiedPotatoe I added it to the description when I saw her comment :] - I thought I replied to her, but it didn't show up.
beautiful, where is this?
@Dillon1108 It fits in with gas consumption of other cars. Tesla's site claims 245 miles per charge, which is on par for a lot of other sports cars' tanks of gas. Energy consumption isn't anything you worry about in the game - you can't choose to put less gas in to save weight, and it takes a very very long race to get even close to running out.
is the battery drain realistic?

Hi, I would like to have some races without all the people trying to crash with everyone. In my opinion some bumping is OK if it isn't on purpose, but I hate when people just crash you from the inside to make a better turn and you go directly to the wall. I also live V8 Supercars and DTM. Which days do you guys race?
Bouncy car
Love the lag.
@ham236 Why thank you, I practice a lot :)
@redraevyn There's a category called "Motor and Battery", allowing you upgrade from 288 horsepower to 346 or 375. The other categories (platform, drivetrain, weight, aero) are available, with the exclusion of engine swaps.
@redraevyn you're a very smooth driver then
@ham236 No, this is my driving. It's a replay, I tend to play with all the HUD off because I like the cockpit view.
is there an ai driving?
@billpins Good question! I was just testing this in free play before finally going to bed last night. I'll buy one in Career when I get home from work today, and report back.
Yet there's something missing...
