Started our big lap in June 2023!
OUR FINAL DESTINATION | Finishing the Big Lap in Yeppoon
In this video, we leave NSW and enter our home state of QLD. We spend a couple of nights at Lara Wetlands, one of our first destinations when we left last year. And we find ourselves in Yeppoon, the little seaside town we grew up in. We spent a glorious two weeks reconnecting with family, relaxing, and being tourists in our hometown. What a ride our #lapofaustralia was, we will never forget.

Love Blue Rag…your day up there was a little better than ours when we were there. Hope to get to Lake Cobbler next year.
Awesome trip and epic final video. It had all the stunning scenery, *DRAMA*, and fun we’ve come to expect! Love that you featured Yeppers and surrounds and awesome finish with the vast array of selfies! So glad to have you guys “back to reality” though! 😆
what a way to finish!
It was so great to finish in the town we grew up in and reconnect with family!
How did you feel at the end of your trip and wondering whether you plan on doing more travel? Or settle back in for a while.
Hi there! Finishing the trip was filled with many emotions - sad that it was over, excited to go home and renovate our house, desperate to see friends and family. We are staying put for now, but got some ideas for some smaller trips soon!
That place is paradise
It was magnificent, and so different to the countryside we grew up in
Wow, what a trip! Thanks for sharing it. Fabulous montage to finish off too!
We are so glad you enjoyed it! Might a bonus little video popping up in the next couple of weeks 😉
Sounds interesting!
Ohhhh, so it is a D Max...i thought it might be a BT50 because it's got no badges and the bullbar covers the front badge
Not much difference these days I’m lead to believe 😉 Thanks for watching!
Nice to see young aussie seeing Mt Panorama, seen it back in the 80's...
Thanks for watching! Yes I’m not sure there would have been too much change since the 80s. The motor museum down the bottom is very good!
@@goodtogoau the Mt Panorama circuit has changed monumentally since the 1980's, for the better of course, safety wise. Lot's of concrete barriers have been added. The kink in Conrad Straight wasn't there, was installed to slow cars down. Pit building's were upgraded some time ago as well... Thanks for the ride, never been there myself...
Oh wow!
That elevation gain was something!
It’s so much steeper than it appears on tv! Bloody beautiful track up the top 👌🏻
Ahhhh, Lock's Well Beach ... one of my favourites ... love all that country . "Home". :)
Still one of the most memorable beaches on our trip ❤️
love it
Thanks for supporting us for so long!
I’m loving following your trip and videos. It’s not just 4wd ing .👌
Thank you so much for watching - we love all aspects of touring…sitting around camp, driving on the beach, exploring little towns, hiking…it’s all part of the fun!
awesome video!
Thanks!
Nice filming!!
Thank you! Can you see the moment I nearly crash the drone 😆
When was this filmed I thought the high country was closed at the moment
Hi there! This was filmed in May of this year 👍🏻
@@goodtogoau thanks mate make sense now as they close all those track on the king’s birthday weekend
I didn’t know that! How long do they stay shut for?
@@goodtogoau until cup weekend in November
@Tuff22_ wow!
We were there 5 weeks ago..2024.. Highly recommend.. Did the coastal fishing camp for 7 days and then cliff top for 6 days
What an incredible stay you must have had! We wish we had more time to spend there, might just have to go back 😉
@goodtogoau It was a fantastic stay. Had the added bonus of having our tinny aswell. We have a similar hybrid to yours. Definitely going back again. Cheers paul
love it
Thank you!
Chainsawing in thongs... Aussie as! 🐨 "God gave us a heap of toes. They can't all be critical." Great video!
Those were his “safety thongs” 😆
love it
Aus music references! Yassss! 🙌😄
Amazing footage guys! We are looking forward to checking out the Flinders Ranges on our next trip.
We couldn’t recommend it highly enough! Such a beautiful area!
What time of the year was your trip
Hi there! This was late February/early March this year 👍🏻
Aus music references - yasss! 🙌😄
The beach is so stunning and thank you !
Thanks for watching!
Another awesome video👍. I thoroughly enjoyed your dirk hartog serious and appreciate the reply to my question on that vid. I love your footage there on the Gibb. A good balance of yourselves, the scenery and the journey. I hope you enjoyed the experience as it looked amazing 👍Thanks for sharing 😊
So glad you are enjoying the videos, especially DHI which was one of our favourites! The Gibb was certainly challenging but we are so glad we did it!
What time of year was this?
Hi John! This was mid-Feb
love it
Hey we just found you guys. Enjoyed this YT video. Hope to get there one day soon. L & G Tea Tree Gully SA.
Hi there, thanks for watching! We loved our time in this area, I hope you get to visit it!
Hi Guys, what was the name of the last beach you went to for a fish & caught salmon?
Hey there! It was called Locks Well Beach, just south of Elliston 👍🏻
We were there just recently, thoroughly enjoyed our stay
We love it too ❤️
The coast of piers😅.
😆
❤❤❤
Great vid! About to cross the Pentecost. What time of year did you go?
Oh good luck! They must have just opened the Gibb for the season? We were there late August, so tail end of last season
@@goodtogoau yeah this coming Sunday.
Have the best time!!
Really enjoyed this episode, we visited the valley of the giants a few days ago-magnificent!
It’s hard to get the scale of the trees on camera! Thanks for watching :-)
love it
It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been I love rotto so much I buried $500 there in 2001 so in 2025 I will coming over to retrieve it…if it’s still there…I’m sure it is it’s very well buried. Lovely video guys enjoyed seeing rotto so beautiful 🤗
Well I certainly hope it’s there for you when you get back there! We loved the island, so pretty. Very busy though, I would recommend going through the week!
@@goodtogoau I’m sure it will be 👍🏻 it’ll be my 20th time on rotto so I’m clued up 👍🏻 safe travels 🤗
Wow great job guys…..el questro gorge looks absolutely amazing the walk/climb in looks truly spectacular we can’t wait to go and do this along with Emma gorge….well done guys loved it 🤗
Thanks so much for watching! Yes, the walls are just as much part of the adventure as the destination themselves. Make sure you take plenty of water!
Great content keep ythem coming
Thanks so much for watching!
Very rugged and remote! Did you eat the Tailor? Delicious fish and it looks like you got a good sized one! Lots of fishing for Mr B! Thanks for the inside look at the iCamper too! 😊
We didn’t eat the Tailor, we actually thought it was a salmon at the time 🤦🏻♀️
Loved watching both episodes of your Dirk Hartog adventure. Did you use much fuel on the island? Do you think a standard height 4x4 would be ok on the tracks?
Thanks so much for watching! We used a lot less fuel than we thought we would, as you’re driving so slowly. But we have a long range tank and we took a fuel jerry as well. We used about 70L of fuel I think. I would err on the side of caution though, as they were charging $3/L for fuel on the island! Standard height 4x4 should be ok on the main tracks, and obviously tyre pressures are key 👍🏻
Awesome video guys!
Thank you so much! We really enjoy watching your videos as well!
Laughed so much in this one! 😂 So pretty and looks like you’re having a ball! 🥰 Love the sandy reef through there and all the fishies and turtles!
Glad you enjoyed!
thanks for sharing - im heading to the west coast in MAY !
You’re going to love it!
Some spectacular swimming holes and bush “walks” here! The canyons are just so beautiful! Had a good chuckle at the “oh, my name’s Brenno and I can do two steps at a time” scoff too! 🤣 Miss you guys! ❤
Miss you guys as well…and he was just showing off!
love it
