Literally, what happens when Hollywood decides a normal knife a normal criminal (or a regular soldier or any SpecOps) would use just doesn't "pop" on the screen enough, so they have their actors and stun doubles do a bunch of pointlessly complicated goofy ass knife tricks to look good for the camera, and all the major studios do this all throughout the 1980s, so a bitch of slick haired greasy liberal morons in high rise penthouses and gated communities who have no clue what a neighbourhood where robberies happen (without signing a contract) even looks like, so they proceed to take Hollywood's bullshit seriously and proceed to ban all the knives that are primarily used by working class people so their jails can get even more full of marginalized people like nonwhite, immigrant, and working class communities can be targeted on their way too and from work and they can pretend like they're doing something to be "tough on crime" while utterly ignoring the actual crime. Bravo. Literally, movies from the 1980s somehow misinformed these complete idiots to banning these in not just blue states but also red states, to where even to this day we're struggling to get it overturned and half of all states you can be fined or do jailtime for merely owning brass knuckles, switchblades, blackjacks, cane swords (who tf even has one of those anyway?), balisongs, and, I am not even kidding you, throwing stars. Why? Because I am guessing they was popular in kungfu movies in the 1980s and these same clueless wrinkly fat old white people similarly mistook Jackie Chan for a real life killer and decided to outlaw a nonlethal distraction weapon.
Javotnae: Butterfly knife
Btw guys at 1:29 the guy actually got stabbed
Originate from Batangas Phillippine made that balisong used in movie is for competition use the real Balisong is made of deer horn handle and Horse bone handle and made of real brass
wth is that opening bruh 💀 out of all the openings he could have done he did the most weirdest and stupidest one in the first clip
Fun fact, the man in the red and white shirt in the punisher scene was actually stabbed. He had picked up the wrong knife (not a prop) and was genuinely scared when he realized he had just stabbed him.
The best tricks I ever seen Except the hand Rip
1:18 for anyone's that curious, this was a real balisong knife that was accidentally used on set but the actor just manned up and held the pain.
this is like the most commented thing on this video lol. everyone knows! x) :3
1:17 allegedly the knife was real and he actually accidentally stabbed him, but the big guy just went with it
There's one thing in common with all of these scenes. They all need to tighten the screws on their balisongs.
you forget god of gamblers :)
Use a fat glue you'll get next level of protection
No Place Beyond the Pine's, or had that not come out, yet?
He was stabbed for real in the punisher
*butterfly knives
Disgusting
video's summary: basic oppening
I had to call the Filipino or belly song I learned how to work one of these when I was just a mere 13 years old now I'm 57 and I still know how to work this thing to this day holla if you hear me
IM BOUT TO BUSTT
I first saw a balisong in 1984's Streets of Fire, but it wasn't the diner scene I remember it was him opening the door to save the girl tied to the bed. Saved up my money and bought one out of Black Belt Magazine a few years later.
The noise 😭💀
3:57 te sabes el ritmo de saltar y cortar!
Lmao I always love the “mother fucker give us your fucking briefcase” line
So many balisong experts😂😂 ain’t nothing special about it when your literally just do random openings😂
Crazy thing in the punisher he actually stabbed him with a live blade
First
Gen-e is spy!
It has that bill to just do that without being scared
I've been looking for to buy butterfly knifes but didn'tknow which. And just watched Face off. And wanted that knife from that scene. Then I had an idea to look up in movies if there is some iconic ones. I knew there must be this video in yt. I was happy to see Face of on preview 😂❤
the balisong in face off appears to be a benchmade 49 xx. pretty much impossible to get though :/
Using a filipino knives in Hollywood movies

kick ass is such a good movie
flipping a balisong, not locking throwing it hitting a man balisong is closed ?? well done
0:25 That's Filipino Martial Arts master Guro Dan Inosanto.
7:42 WTF IS THAT SOUND 💀💀💀
The most impressive balisong trick, is selling a garbage knife that's barely of any use as an actual knife, to 15 year olds, just by selling the idea that you can spin it around like in a movie. It's a toy, not a weapon. It's a fidget spinner you could maybe sharpen a pencil with, and then use the pencil as a superior weapon.
Kevin Nash in the Punisher actually got stabbed by a Real Balisong It was a placement by the prop guy. he took it like a champ.
God bless the filipinos who invented the Balisong 👏🇵🇭
If someone robbed me with a balisong id just say "your flipping sucks"
That squeaker BM42 is wasted for an amateur lmao
Now i see how they got banned. Every movie depicts them as either a villain's weapon or their henchmen's weapon to make them look like a pushover. If the hero or protagonist ever uses one, it's always to either be intimidating or make them look like a badass by establishing dominance with it. It's like jobber bad guy: whips it out to show how intimidating he is! Hero: steals it from him and does better tricks to show his superiority. Whole shtick is so 80s lol.
Me used 20 for my armor
I'm just happy that big trouble was at the start
Actors be like: infinity rollouts and shaking the life out of balisong=skill
wish my balisong sounded like 7:42
2:34 that is not even possible without the insurance
The Outsider's Two bit with the knife i remember well and Johnny Cade with his Switchblade. Good film
