Good morning from the Netherlands/Holland! I can buy a nice S2. The point is that those Kawaas do indeed smoke enormously. Apart from the correct adjustment, which brand of oil do you advise me to produce the least smoke, besides the brand you mentioned? I'm curious about the answer 🤓! Kind regards from Kobus 🍻🇳🇱🙋

mmm I have been looking at these small chargers and i think the only way to run it is with an electric motor , to take the load off the little engine . you only need in to run for 15 mins so electric with battery is better and more adjustable with a speed controller from an electric scooter .....

Good stuff! BTW urethane windshield sealant bonds much better than silicone. Dow U-418 HV (High Viscosity) is why I don't use "RTV" silicones for anything I do not specifically expect to peel free later. 3M Window Weld works too but usually costs more.

I would have to agree that the 400 was a sweet spot in the Kawa triples range and I love my own S3 very much. This owner definitely needs to ditch the pods and go back to stock and with what you have found so far, I would be re-checking everything before giving the bike back, as it seems to have been something of a half-arsed restoration imho.

I be getting back from a ride about the time you will be racing, I sure hope I can make some of your runs. I'm a rider not a designer so I a dumb question regarding the exit of the exhaust. Since exhaust is exiting forward into the wind will that negatively effect performance??

Im curious what the piston to bore clearance is? I had similar nip ups (not lean) but running to close piston to bore clearance on oval dirt karts due to the constant high load conditions & no cooling off time (wide open throttle) our water cooled 100cc kart engines on 98 pump fuels ran .0045" piston to bore, approximately 28hp 16000rpm. Same motor on circuit racing was .002"

Is your fuel supply setup sufficient for the force air and high rpm? Maybe carb venting causing air lock? Don't know much about complex 2 strokes like yours. Great videos!

scratchy pistons and cylinders, all good. holes in crowns and crankcases full of crud not so good. faced with mains, rods, pins, splitting and pressing... holy two strokes often go to heaven... some sit in the back of the shed for twenty years waiting for "someday..."

Your problem solving skills just blows me away. I’m impressed by people that don’t give up easily. (That’s my way of saying I don’t like lazy people) On the positive side, you didn’t totally grenade the motor.
