This is more or so just a video of what we do almost every week. This video was planned to be a DIY but didn't work out that way due to our 3rd man ( Hunter ) visiting home for a family trip. So I got as much footage as I could while still being as productive as possible to finish in a timely manner with Bryce for our customer. If you or anyone has any questions about this install or would like...

really that simple for a dot ? can I do it on my 435 as well?
Dumb question but the cranck lock needs to come off before torquing the cam adjusters? Or torque the cam adjusters the loosen the crank lock and then spin the engine?
Single is nice but undriveable if not for fun pulls on straight line
Nice video bro. Gotta change mine after christmas. (Just cause im worried about stock ones, 2017)
definitely address them before they cause more issues/damage!
Easier is to taka the engine and trans out of the car...
What fuel line and flex sensor kit is that
Nice work guys. Lil tip. Start doing shorts to bring more ppl to your channel.
Yall remind me of a channel call VAG Technic
@@willmckinnon8598 Thanks for the comment! VAG is definitely top dog when it comes to Audi, we have been watching them for a while and took notes from them as well!
Do you know if a 2010 model year N54 will have a similar wiring process?
i believe the shifter is the same but you need an n54 335is transmission wiring harness, some custom wiring, and you have to swap dsc module, add a yaw sensor, and a few other parts need to be added that arent on the n54 cars except the 335is and n55 lci models
These engines are ao complex these days , im pretty sure id end up with some 'spare' bits of i tried this 😬. Respect guys
Love the n55 soo much I slapped one in my e46 ❤
Dude this is sick. Good luck to you guys on your channel!
you should do some content with the new n55e update on mhd+
This is on point! I started to receive "P0391 Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit" on 2018 model. Can it mean that there could be pottential problems with rocket arm, that produce a metallic thing, so sensor can be affected? Or it is better to replace it and wait? Milleage: 80 000
Hello, the rocker arms shouldn't directly affect the camshaft position but i think you may be right, there is likely metal shavings on your magnetic sensor causing the signal to be incorrect. Do you have any loud ticking noises coming from the engine? One or more of your rockers could definitely be wearing the camshafts out causing metal to spread to the sensors.
Hey whats the best way of contacting you guys?
@complexeuros on Instagram.
that 335i at 9:58 is cleeaaan
Which one? the silver one in the back?
hey i noticed you guys are from arizona you got any social media we can follow im from arizona as well with a e90 n54
🔥🔥🔥
What color is that interior? I have an E91 wagon with the N54 & DCT out of a 335is, and a palladium interior.
Oyster!
You guys should do some e36 content😳🔥
We have an e36 in the fleet! E36 content will be coming soon!
Are the 20+ engines still fitted with the small needle bearing rocker arms from factory, or do they have the updated part already? Thanks!
They are updated starting from October 2018 production year (2019 Model)
@@winfle ^^^^
@@winfle thank you. I was able to pick up a 2018MY for very cheap with a blown engine, low compression cyl 6 and crank codes. I have a feeling this rocker arm was not the issue but I'll be looking for 2019+ engines then. I appreciate your help.
Single is the way to go 👌🏾
We need you in MN. Great video.
I put my Speedtech top mount open dump kit in about 3 months ago, I only took out the passengers side motor mount. Kit was a breeze to put in. I water cooled my turbo & gate as well…👍🏻✌🏻
When you removed the chain tensioner on the drivers side did the little lever it pushes on fall back toward where the tensioner was ?
when you release tension on the chain it'll definitely spring back toward the tensioner
If using locking the crank w vibration dampener instead if crank pin, does that eliminate the need to drop the subframe/ac/alternator/mount?
I do believe yes but you'll have to remove the front core support a bit to gain that space its a tight engine bay
To do both banks on an sq5 it's hard to reach in I ended up dropping the drivelines, moving the AC compressor to the side to avoid draining the (r1234 freon). And I bought the tool to lock crank on the front pulley
great mechanic👍
were are u located?
We are located in Phoenix, AZ you can find us on Insta @complexeuros
would you be able to change head studs with out pull ing the motor?
100% you might even be able to just do them one at a time without pulling the head. obviously do this at your own risk though.
How much for a job like this
This exact job was around $6-7k with needing replacement camshafts
How did you get the charge pipe off without atleast removing the radiator? I'm currently doing this job. And it's much harder than he makes it look I assure you
Its definitely not easy that's for sure. You can get the bolts out with a combination of t30 sockets, extensions and swivels, but to get it out you'll need to remove the throttle body and then angle up the passenger side outlet until its above the engine then you can start fishing the driver side up and out, it will take a lot of finesse but do not force it, we didn't have to force it at all, just took some slight movements and it came out.
I managed to get it out. With some patience lol. Is there a way to insert the crank lock pin from the top? Or does it have to be done from under the car @ComplexEuros
@@YetToBeSeen The lock pin that's on the side of the block is only accessible from the bottom, after lowering the subframe and removing the driver side engine mount, engine mount bracket and moving the black vacuum canister aside.
What's the turnaround time from when you get the car to having it back to the customer for this job? Appreciate the video and explanation. Good 1st video 👍
It took us about a week from start to finish with waiting for the camshafts and filming the process along with working on other customer cars in the meantime.
Did you drop the subframe to get the motor mounts out?
You have to drop the subframe to get them out as well as take out the alternator and ac compressor. I’ve seen people remove the lower control arms to get more room to lower the subframe too.
I can already tell this channel will blow up! Awesome work, I’m looking forward to the future videos.
Is this a fairly common issue? The forums and some shops seems to be undecided
Super common on the 2018s forsure
What year is this s5? 2018/2019?
2018 sportback
Good job guy’s an this is coming from a licensed multi brand European car technician I have never done one yet but I just did a oil change on a 2019 SQ5 with 60000 miles and noticed some metal particles in the oil filter pleats when I cut the filter and spread it out it doesn’t have any ticking yet but I’m concerned.
This car was similar, metal shavings in the oil filter and no extremely loud ticks, we thought the tick was the high pressure fuel pump
As an S4 owner and enthusiast, the little bit of shavings in the filter seems extremely common on the EA839. Many owners report that but own the car with no issues. My 2021 S4's first oil change worried me when I saw the filter haha. Of course If i had a pre 2019 I'd be a bit more worried due to the rocker arm issue.
I heard the shavings are from the soft cam gears
@@bradleywilkie159 I’ve heard the same as well
@@bradleywilkie159 These cars definitely have issues with the cam gears as well. Always a good idea to check them for wear while the engine is apart.

Nice job man, like how you put the RTV on the valve cover. Im waiting for my boroscope to see my S4 2019 have the updated rockerarm ! I do my pray 🙏 for sure😂 !!!
The 2019’s should have the updated rocker arms, best of luck!

What's the exhaust setup on this thing?
It's 3in all the way from the downpipe, he added an xpipe and the tips are quad 4in double wall chrome tips Feel free to shoot him a follow or dm @6lacks5_ on insta
This is the best video I’ve seen so far amazing job, how much would a job like this run?
If the job is done preventatively with no broken rocker arms or scored cams, you’re looking at 4-6k depending on what you want replaced while you’re in there
@@brycebourland3613 i got it done for $1200 + parts
Any chance you guys could go over what was done before the video started? And how you go to TDC and locked everything in place. Looking to do this on my car soon, shop near me quoted me $9k….
