This is a moon video to show the seeing when I imaging the lunar surface on Feb 21th, and also can see the processing result under such seeing condition. Clavius crater very clear in this video.
Good details, easy to understand instructions that should work for other equipment as well.🖖
very good instructions. Easy to understand
this helps alot, yall should link this video in the product page, i was doing it all wrong and my back spacing was horrible
I bought the Artemis color camera, this camera is advertised as no amp glow, mine has amp glow, I contacted Player One and didn't help at all
With these 2 filters does that add up to 55mm backspace ????
Dude, just set the camera back on place last and you never sudenly drop screws on the camera window or filter ;)
Thank you for this tutorial. It shows the engineering and thought that went into the optical train design. It also makes it easier to plan future purchases as my interest in astrophotography grows.
I was lost in the ZWO environment but wanted to escape. After researching the 571 osc offerings I chose the Poseidon-c. I like the extended well depth, back accessible tilt plate, shape and positive reviews. I plan to purchase more Player One products but wish to combine them with my ZWO oag and filter wheel. Is there a way to bolt Player One cameras to a ZWO filter wheel? Thanks in advance
A magnetic screwdriver would be nice
oh, maybe it would be easier to just use one kind of screw, and I would recommend not using phillips screws. Saves on tooling also.
If the screws are stainless steel, a magnetic screwdriver will not help.
Just received my 533 yesterday! Thank you so much for great quality!!
Any test DSO?
Thanks for the video. I will be purchasing a Poseidon-M Pro kit in a few days.
ridiculously dumb accent couldn't they hire an English person for this
I'd love for you guys to make a mini PC like the ASIAIR Plus to go with all your camera gear (and more we hope)
I would say not the best thought out solution. Preferably you should not mess with the tilt plate. The best solution would have been to attach the camera with screws from the inside of the filterwheel.
but isn't this the beauty of it, compared to all other brands who are using the same Sensors... you can actually fix the tilt without having to disassemble it. ... like seriously how do all other brands do it?
Fixing the tilt from the back of the camera is good. What if you swap cameras? Then the tilt has to be adjusted every time which this is a pain.
@@mpk2707 if you have any tilt in the rest of your system, you have a problem anyway.
@@mpk2707 ... if the Sensor of this specific Camera has some tilt. then it only affects this camera. when you swap the camera. the tilt of the sensor can be completely different anyway. old way of fixing the tilt, was to disassemble the whole image train again and again, just to take another image... or to build a special device, where you were able to fix the tilt otherwise... so in my opinion, this is a huge improvement.
Hi. I purchased the Uranus-c pro with the 5 x 2” filter wheel and OAG mini - but just noticed the tilt plate from the camera does not fit the screw holes on the filter wheel. What can I do?
player-one-astronomy.com/product/r31r27-compatible-rear-4p-tilter-plate-for-carbon-fiber-cooled-cameras/
This is compatible tilter plate for carbon fiber cooled cameras.
Just assembled my kit, only difference was the Player One and Ares M logos on the camera body were reversed, which I'll assume doesn't matter
Excellent details in this video, thank you. About the filters. Do they screw in from the camera side or the OAG side? I guess from the front (OAG) side where the filter position number is printed on the wheel. Is it best to remove the OAG to install the filters ?
Oh, I see. The 36mm filter inserts from the OAG side and the filter mask holds it down. That would be easier with the OAG removed.
Yes, setup filters on OAG side is correct. Install the filters first, then to install OAG. Actually, there are more different sequences can setup it, we only demostrate a way that easy to understand.
Do your company ship to germany in europe?
Very helpful. To make sure I got the rotation correct when I reassembled, I put a small piece of tape over the camera and the tiltplate before I unscrewed the camera. That way it was easy to place it back in the same location.
According to the Ares-C video, the method shown here is not the correct one. Why is this video still up?
The strength of PlayerOne products is their mechanical design on the top of their outstanding performances. No other brand can beat them for all these very well thought details for their usage. Bravo to the team.
Video is better than reading instructions . Thinking of getting a player one camera as my 1st astro camera.
I'm in the same boat, what are you thinking of getting?
Hi. Is this possible to use Canon lens with Uranus-C? And what i need to get correct back focus??
As I know, the EOS-T2 adapter from ASI is compitable.
Requires some adapters from other brands.
Hi, what is the backfocus requirement of this arrangement? Does it fit within a 55mm limit?
Mine measures 56mm backfocus (17.5 for the camera, 17.5 for the oag, 21 for the filter drawer. This gives you the correct back focus distance for MOST reducers/correctors when you factor in the 1mm thickness that needs to be added to compensate for the ~1.8-2mm thickness of a filter you put in the drawer. I have not tested it without a filter in the drawer, as I always use at least a UV/IR cut. Works fine on the reducer for my Askar 65PHQ, and the Tak FSQ-85ED 1.01x flattener.
@@AlexN-Astro Hi, that's a very hepful reply. I've been asking other people why the filter drawer is 21mm - thereby giving a total back focus of 56mm, when I need 55mm. So, basically it has the extra 1mm of back focus to take account of the filter itself, am I understanding that correctly? Thanks
@@HollomanUFOLanding When light is refracted during entry and exit through the filter, it deflects the focus point further out. Roughly speaking the change is about 1/3 the thickness of the filter, so for filters in the 2.0 to 2.5mm thickness range, this means about 0.66 to 0.8mm. In all cases, the 55mm figures quoted by makers are "nominal" with the actual range generally being +/- 1mm or so. In any case, you need to test the results and may have to fine tune the distance - even without a filter drawer in the train.
So you can add the 36mm unmounted filters without opening the filter Wheel . That's great can't wait to get my Poseidon Kit.
I think it is possible, but the distance from the plate to the wheel body is 8mm hight.
Setup filter still need to open the filter wheel, but setup or remove the camera and OAG together don't need to open it again.
This setup looks so well thought out! Great job 👍
I love the overall quality here. It is obvious a lot of thought and effort has gone into the engineering of this product. Thank you, Sean, for a very helpful video!
Sean, this is looking great. I love how solid everything is with the screw-on connections. It makes a huge difference in combating flexure I'm sure. I cannot wait to get one for review. - Dave Farina
Nice! - Looks great all setup like that 😀
Great work! :-) This'll be helpful for people!
good
Great and very useful tutorial...I need to know about the liquid cleaner, solution type or composition used on it. Thanks a lot!
excellent image! What camera from the series did you use?
Thanks for the information Sean
Thanks a lot, man. We will update more tutorials.
Amazing capture
That final image is Awesome
Very nice capture
